Great little ice cream spot in northern Michigan. Beware on weekends in the summer though because it can get BUSY! It's located close to the South state park so a lot of patrons walk there from their campsite, but it's definitely a great place if your wanting soft serve, or hand dipped. Yummy and good prices for the huge serving size! If you get a frosty in a cone just be ready to deal with a lot of drips lol. The base ice cream we didn't find to have much flavor (mocha, birthday cake etc) but instead tasted like vanilla + the add-ins. Still yummy, and the frosties have huge pieces of candy/cake/dessert in them. Update: the no sugar added mint chocolate chip was amazing and two scoops was ginormous in the waffle cone! Even enough for two large servings. The line was pretty darn long so it took us maybe 30-ish minutes to get the ice cream but they worked efficiently and it was worth it. read more

Nibbles is my go to ice cream place when in Roscommon. Of course living close might have something to do with it. I had a Bear Claw this time and wow there were a lot of cashews--thank goodness I love them. The variety of ice cream flavors and sundaes is excellent. This place is always busy but the service is good. Friendly staff and they try hard to give quality in a reasonable time. Be patient you won't be disappointed. Nibbles is near a corner that can get busy so please watch out for cars when visiting. Especially watch your children. Most drivers know to slowdown but there are the few who just don't pay attention. Nibbles has areas to sit, relax, and enjoy your delicious dessert. If you are camping at South Higgins Lake State Park you can walk to Nibbles. There's a self-worn path from the park to the backside of Nibbles. read more

As a first timer at the famous Nibbles, I was not sure if this place would live up to the hype. Maybe the 50 person line at 7pm was just because it was a Saturday, on 4th of July weekend, and this was the only ice cream place in town. As we stood in line waiting, I realized this place might be the real deal. They cater to ice cream lovers young and old, traditional and adventurous. Out of their pickup window comes small scoops, big scoops, blue scoops, sundaes, soft serve, soft serve with sprinkles...you name it, Nibbles has it. Their ice cream menu had me paralyzed...I did not know if I should pick blue moon, cherry, or just good old vanilla. As if by divine determination, enter the super scoop, a tri-color tri-flavor marvel that solved my frozen dessert quandary and delivered unparalleled satisfaction in one extraordinary scoop. Ice cream was great. We showed up 8 mins before close on a Weds. The younger man seemed impatient and irritated that we came up there so close to closing. I sensed it as we walked up and asked "are you still serving?" And he kind of snapped back "it's before 7 isn't it?" It seemed like we were an inconvenience to him. I hurried up and rushed an order. And then rushed my daughter to pick something too. It wasn't cheap. It WAS good. And the service was off putting. read more

Wow. Words cant even describe how delicous this ice cream was. However, the parking was quite small, especially for friday night. We could barely fit. But we eventually got into line, and the lady (i didint get her name, but she had brown braids and freckles i think) took our order. I ordered a blue moon ice cream in a cup. A couple moments later, a girl (again, didn't get her name, but was white with a blonde braid) gave me my ice cream. Jaw-dropping. A masterpiece for my tastebuds. I also love how close it is to the Higgins Lake Campsite. 10/10 highly recommend read more

They serve Michigan made hand packed Hudsonville ice cream, and they have every flavor they make, which is a huge selection. read more

Great classic walk-up ice cream place that also has scooped hard pack ice cream. No food- only ice cream. Our soft serve portions were very large so skip the cake come and get something in a cup or one of their variety of waffle cones. Seemed like adequate amount of out door seating. read more

Used to love Nibbles. Trying to continue to support all the small businesses in the area and Nibbles has been a part of our family summer traditions since I was very young. Now, newer owner Aaron, doesn't seem to care about customer service. We still try and take the family and friends at least once or twice a week, but not if he's there. Every encounter with him is extremely poor. Starting to take our business down the road. So sad! read more

My family goes here multiple times a week and adore their ice cream. However they did not enforce social distancing or mask wearing, which is an executive order by the governor. Nibbles is REQUIRED to turn anyway anybody not wearing a mask in a crowd, yet a huge group of people pulled up wearing no masks and they were still served. I have two older people in my family who could have serious consequences if they contracted Covid-19. My family WILL NOT be coming back here until they focus more on safety and the welfare of their customers. read more

We were so pleased to see the notice posted by Nibbles today regarding face mask use in compliance with the governors orders. My family promptly hopped in their van excited to be able to get ice cream someplace that was practicing safe practices. Unfortunately we were disappointed to pull up and find multiple large groups of people standing close together in line without face masks. Not only were the customers and Nibbles not abiding by the mandate, but no one was even asked to mask up and there were even people mocking the few people that were trying to do the right thing. What was going to be a fun outing ended with disappointment. We are very sad we can't enjoy one of our favorite experiences. Please don't go here until they can commit to keeping us all safe. read more

Place is awesome. Right on the side of the road and you won't miss it by the lines spreading out basically into the road. Very wide selection of treats to choose from to keep everyone in the family happy and the portion sizes are huge. A small is a large at most places. Only downsides I was able to find is severe lack of parking. On Friday and Saturday nights, it's tough to get a spot and have to park at next door liquor store. Also, there is no bathroom available. Wow! You get a lot for your money. Large cones , flurry's for a great price. Always a busy spot. Parking can be tricky. South State Park has a walking trail that leads right to this tasty ice cream destination. Next door here is a great souvenir shop with T-shirts, hats and all things Higgins Lake. We always stop at both when we are visiting. read more

This is the best ice cream place on higgins lake! They have very generous servings plus a great variety of flavors ! Even vegan / gluten free- for those that need it! The young ladies are so kind and helpful ! It is just a most pleasant experience! The new owner is very friendly and even showed how he has implemented covid safety issues that better protect his employees and customers! I also appreciate his doggy cones ; our shih tzu loves the ice cream plus biscuit ! We always want Nibbles ! Nibbles is one of my favorite ice cream places. I usually don't care for ice cream shops that don't make their ice cream, but I have fond memories of Nibbles. It is the best ice cream in Roscommon. The prices are very reasonable, and the portion sizes are insane. I stopped by when I was in town last week thinking I could have dessert before dinner. My only recommendation is don't come here on a Friday or Saturday night after dinner time. With the campground being right behind the building, the line gets CRAZY long! Thankfully, we came on a Saturday afternoon when campers were still at the beach. Walked right up and ordered. Once you decide from the large menu what you want to order, you get a HUGE serving. Amazing selection and always adding even more. Pumpkin Pie flurry is amazing! Moose Tracks flurry is best with vanilla ice cream. The place is always clean and tables are wiped down. Mosquitoes must not like ice cream because they are never around Nibbles. Employees are very friendly can help with suggestions on the vast menu. read more
