The new bartender Josh is Great! Real nice guy polite and doesn't keep you waiting. Going again this Friday to see FRITZ O'Hara Live @ 8pm

An unparalleled selection of wine complemented by a full bar serves as a backdrop for the unique and welcoming ambiance of this far too well kept Carolina secret. Just 30 minutes from Downtown Raleigh there is always something going on here and everybody is a friend when they walk through the door. Whether you are a wine aficionado or a complete beginner interested in learning from the patient and knowledgable staff, this is a place you will want to check out. I couldn't recommend it any more !

A good one from our recent visit

We love stopping by here on our occasional date nights and really enjoy the large selection of wines, the live music, and eclectic decor. This is coming from a native Californian who goes to Napa and Sonoma often (back when we lived in the Bay Area) and have traveled to most of the well-known (and not-so-well-known) wine regions in the world. Anthony can come off as gruff at first, but he's is knowledgeable about wines and just doesn't put up with bullshit. Since we usually prefer to sit inside, we've witnessed him having to deal with a lot of drunk and/or unreasonable folks who either don't want to follow NC state liquor laws or acted like they probably should've been cut off hours earlier. We recently brought my best friend from out of town there and he loved the experience and wants to go back the next time he visits. He said he's never been to any place like it, and that's the most accurate statement about Niche that I can think of. Cheers!

It's my first time here... Thursday night, Jazz night! This place is fabulous! It's very warm and welcoming. This is what you call a No judgement, hang out at home kind of vibe. The people were all very down to earth. It's Pet-friendly here so you never know who you're going to meet. We were fortunate to meet Bud! He loves the ladies. They have a bucket of dog treats at the bar for the fur babies. The entertainment was great. We enjoyed 2 different females on the mic with beautiful voices. Drinks: you name it! Note -- there is no drink menu. They have a very large selection of wine, beer, and liquor... take your pick. There isn't any food served here either. But the owner lets you bring your own meals and snacks with you. And let's Shout out to the tapster-- Liisa! She had me try pickled okra for the first time. She is the best!!

I absolutely adore this quaint wine bar! They do serve beer as well, for those that don't drink wine. Monday is half price bottle night and everything they offer is super reasonably priced! Food trucks often come in on Mondays as well and you are welcome to bring in the food while you have your beverage. The intimate atmosphere is very welcoming. This converted old house into a wine bar is the perfect combination of feeling like you are at home with friends lounging on the couch or sitting on the back deck, to feeling like a posh atmosphere. The bartenders are truly knowledgeable about the wine and 9/10 times you can try before you buy... no one wants to get stuck with a wine you have to choke down because you paid for it! Live music is often here and the artists are truly awesome! They really don't skimp on the talent here! A huge high five to this bar!

Service was ok and the place is cozy. No view in the back and all of the furniture were wet from the rain. No one bothered to bring in the cushions or dry them up after. I wasn't offered a menu so I don't know if they have cheese board options so I was surprised to walk by a refrigerator with good cheeses. There was an enormous stench of cigarettes no matter where you sit. This place has potential it I won't be coming back until they make improvements.

I love Niche! I prefer coming here during off times so I can have a more personal experience since this place can get packed. Aldo, the Wine Connoisseur, is the best! He is extremely knowledgable, makes wonderful recommendations and remembers his customers and what wine they enjoy. Wine that I recommend - a glass of the Quinta de la Rosa Porto. It is a dessert wine that is sweet and 20% ABV (it is a smaller pour just incase you were worried about the higher alcohol content).

We found our home! Came in for the first time tonight and Anthony somehow knew what I would love just after a couple questions. Sitting here sipping the perfect wine listening to jazz next to my husband. This will be our date night spot! Thank you!!!

They have a great selection of rotating taps with a focus on German beers. They usually keep at least a couple IPA and Stout taps. They also have wine by the glass. Parking can be a bit of a pain. TCB only has two official parking spots, if there are any spots in the lot use those ones last because all of the lot frequently fills up due to Winging It next door...especially on their trivia night. So if you leave the TCB only spots open someone who can't find a spot may get one. On the bright side, Winging It takes phone in orders and will deliver it to TCB at the bar for you if you ask. Outside food is obviously welcome since they don't have a restaurant. Interesting fact, under the previous owners there was a brewery that shared space with TCB called 3rd Degree Brewhouse. They didn't survive the covid years but it was cool! They regularly have food trucks on some Fridays and Saturdays (who will ultimately steal those two parking spots). They do have some bar food including hot pretzels served with beer cheese and mustard and it's pretty good. They are super dog friendly....like if dogs bother you, don't come here. The owners dogs are sweet and behave. They are also kid and family friendly. Some of the visitors on the other hand, their owners need to train their pups a bit more. I have seen a few squabbles over the years and heard more than a few barking contests. Don't worry, they are usually calmed down fast. And I won't let you know if I was talking about the dogs, kids or maybe both. One of my favorite things is that they use Untappd. You can see their menu on there as well as check in beers as you drink them. As of writing this I have 192 check in's there across at least 6 years. I used to be a regular but I cut back on my drinking and haven't been in awhile, but I need to go to get to 200 check ins! They frequently host DJ Gino for Music Bingo which is my favorite. He also does music, karaoke, record nights, and probably some other DJ-eeyness that I'm forgetting. There are dozens of board games inside, a couple video games, Touch Tunes, TVs to watch sports, and even a golf arcade game. Outside they have corn hole and covered picnic tables with some really nice rocking chairs. Cigar smoking is allowed out front. Aside from the rotating taps, they have a huge selection of refrigerated and non-refrigerated beer, non-alcoholic beer, kids drinks like root beer and Saranack Shirley Temples, and a few other things. Tap water and cups is back in the corner. My only gripe about this place is the $2 uncharge to open a beer from the cooler onsite. Seriously bro, come one, we're already tipping 20-25% on the purchase of that $9 can, I think the bartender could open it no problem and not make it a $13-14 can of beer. This is the only bottle shop that I used to frequent that had a "cork fee" for opening beer purchased there cold. I eventually just started buying a couple to go instead of drinking them there to save the extra cost. Last bonus fact: They used to have a run club and I went a few times and was the slowest one. We ran behind Kohls in those neighborhoods. Then we'd all come over and drink the calories back on but the worst part was on run club night they served free brats with sauerkraut and mustard...so we really put back on the exercise effort.

We started off with a round of drinks, I had wine and my husband had the Mexican Herbalist (delicious). For dinner, we had the special of the day (steak frites) and the short rib. Both were good. Good food, good vibes, service needs some improvement…read more The restaurant is cute and the decor is nice and spacious. Plenty of tables and making a reservation was easy and they were accommodating. I had called in advance to make the reservation for a birthday dinner and we had a little happy birthday sign on the table as soon as got there which was a cute gesture. The menu has a bunch of different things which I really liked. And a few cocktails and mocktail options. We got a few drinks; the Apple Jack, the Mexican herbalist, cinder & citrus, and a few basic drinks. They were pretty good. For apps, we got the fried mozzarella and the ahi tuna wontons and they were both SO good. For mains, we got the lamb shank, the chicken francese (which was the best one) and the beef medallions, which was a little sweet but was fine. For dessert, we got a few. The best was the apple galette, but the Oreo cheesecake was pretty good too. Ashley was our server and she was alright. We asked for bread and she hesitated to get us some. She told us that there might not be any left but she'll check. She ended up getting us some and informed us that that was the last of all the bread at the restaurant. It was only 8 pm but it was alright, it was enough bread, I guess. Once we got drinks, we asked for some extra lime. She got us some, and once again, informed us that that was the last of the lime in the entire restaurant. Odd commentaries that were unnecessary and seemed like a fib. Every drink came with a lime, and some dishes needed lime. Didn't seem like it was even possible to be out of limes. The commentary was unnecessary and seemed like she didn't want to serve us. Even if some of the comments were true, it was unnecessary and made it Seem like the restaurant did not have enough ingredients which isn't a good look. Towards the end she was polite and more accommodating. Food was good and the vibes were nice, the service could've been better.
