DO NOT GO HERE. Arguably the worst cinema experience of my life. The theaters are in horrible disrepair with the seats literally falling apart. Peeling leather. Broken features. The lack of a call button or service app ending up making our experience even worse. We ordered one soda and one beer and AN HOUR into the movie everyone else in our row had been served full meals and I was forced to leave the movie to go find my server. I would have let it go but this place makes you PRE-PAY and PRE-TIP for what ends up being horrible service. At the service window I found my server and let him know it had been an hour and he said "we are trying to get drinks out" This was followed by snide comments from another server from within the stand. I'm sorry but if I don't have my order one hour into a two hour movie you have completely failed and shouldn't be marketing yourself as a food-based cinema experience. To make matters worse my seat was completely broken. No recline. I would have brought this up if I had seen my waiter at all in the first hour. Finally, for me the worst part of my experience is that they had glitching and stuttering on playback multiple times in the first and second reel. The one thing they should be flawless at is projecting a movie and they can't even do that correctly. I will NEVER be back to this theater. This is why theatrical attendance is down. Well the female worker who checked them in started questioning their ages and brought the male manager into it who refused to allow them entry and REFUSED to REFUND their money. He said they had to be 21+ in order to be allowed. It's NOT a x-rated movie! What in the world? They are LEGAL ADULTS. He said it is to increase their bar revenue! Meanwhile the bar is EMPTY bc it's a Sunday! Please know that if you are 18+ you are not seen as an adult by CMX Cinebistro. March 17, 2026; 3 Stars Rating I visited this establishment as part of a birthday celebration for my cousin. We typically come here for celebrations. We were eager to come because of the changes made to their seating and menu. The changes to the seats were OK but not comprehensive. Only some chairs had the uplift, but it wasn't the full chair. It was just the portion of the chair that you sit on. The menu didn't change. They simply added a few things to the menu. I was excited to try them. I ordered a couple new items. I didn't enjoy the fried tomato; it was rubbery and not moist on the inside like I am used to having at other restaurants. I also didn't enjoy the bread pudding. It had a nice flavor, but it was too hard and crusty. The portion sizes were smaller than previously. I rated it a three star because it was OK, and we enjoyed our time together, but there is still work to be done to bring it up to the luxury standard for which we've all gotten used to. November 28, 2023; 2 Star Rating I visited this luxury movie and dinner location on November 29, 2023. I went after work to see The Marvels. I enjoy going to CineBistro. It's a wonderful experience and a comfort and convenience to have food while watching the movie. The seats are in dire need of repair or a covering. It would be good if the menu could be more consistently/periodically updated especially for someone like me who visits Cinebistro quite often. The reason for my rating of 2 stars is because the heating system isn't working in some theaters. The theater that I watched my movie in yesterday was one of those theaters without heat. I was freezing while eating and watching the movie. If I did not have my coat, I would not have been able to endure the coldness for the entire movie. Although it was not unbearable because I was wearing my coat, it was very cold and not comfortable. A manager did come to see me and acknowledged the freezing conditions to see if I wanted him to give me a free ticket to return another day when the heat was working, but I opted to stay and continue to watch the movie because I had driven 40 minutes to go out there, waited very long to see this movie, and my schedule is pretty busy so I would not have had another opportunity to watch it before Cinebistro no longer carried it. Perhaps a better substitute to a free ticket would have been if he offered to pay for my meal because of the non optimal conditions that I was placed in. February 17, 2023; 4 Star Rating My nephew, one of my friends, and I went to see the new Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania movie at CinéBistro Waverly Place today. My nephew was new to that type of movie experience, so we decided to expose him to it. The cashier was very professional, and very helpful in helping me sign up for their new rewards program. As we got seated and comfortable in our luxury reclining seats in the theater, a server came, brought the menus, and took our orders. We each ordered a salmon and shrimp entrée, popcorn, cheesecake, a few mixed drinks, and water. Our drinks were served within 5 minutes, and our food came out within 10 to 15 minutes. Everything was plated nicely, and our drinks were as expected. The dinner portions were okay. The salmon was moist and the shrimp was cooked well. The dish tasted good, but could have used a little more seasoning. It was a little bland. The cheesecake was flavorful but could have been a little larger for the price. The luxury seats were comfortable and relaxing. They were spacious as well, which helped to provide a great movie experience. I always enjoy visiting the CinéBistro at Waverly Place. Met a friend for an afternoon showing of Freakier Friday. We arrived very early and had cocktail at the full bar located in the lobby. The bartender was great, we asked us what we liked and made us a drink that was not on the menu, and it was delicious! Many reviews have already stated the chairs here are pretty worn, and they are BUT I am going to chalk that up to heavy use because it's a nice theater. Though worn the chairs are comfortable and there wasn't a bad seat in the house. The food was decent, I got the poke bowl, and my friend got the sliders. Both of us were satisfied. We paid $42 for (2) adult tickets hoping for a luxury experience like we used to have years ago. Nope, management obviously does not care. I wish we brought a blanket to cover the seats before we sat down. That's how nasty they are. And they are so noisy because the leather has worn off. We both had to use the restrooms after the movie and that was also a gross experience. The floors were so sticky, my shoes stuck to them. Some of THE MOST RAGGEDY SEATS I HAVE EVERRRRR SEEN IN MY LIFE in theater #4! Those seats have been more butts than an ashtray! They desperately need to be upholstered or replaced and oiled as they were very noisy when reclining. ALSO the seats arent on a decline--they are all the same level. And with them having high backs, I couldn't see over the seat infront of me and that was a hindrance in viewing the screen. I was not a fan of the 19% gratuity either! While attending a movie, in May 4, 2026... I ordered food to be delivered to my seat. I was informed shortly after placing the order that your payment system was down, and that my payment had not gone through. I was asked to submit payment again, which I did. Approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes into the movie, I followed up with a waiter about my order and was told it would be brought out shortly. Over the next 30 minutes, I asked two additional staff members, both of whom assured me the food was on its way. Unfortunately, the movie ended, and I never received my order. While waiting in line to speak with a manager, I checked my bank account and discovered that I had been charged for both transactions. In total, I was charged over $120 for food I never received. The manager on duty that evening attempted to issue a refund but stated she was unable to do so due to system issues. I was assured that my account would be fully refunded by Sunday morning. When that did not happen, I was told the refund would be completed by Monday. Again, it was not. This evening (Monday), I called and spoke with the General Manager, who identified himself as Josh. Unfortunately, this interaction escalated my concerns further. He was unprofessional and dismissive, explaining that the refund issue was related to IT ,that he had no control over it , & did not know when it would be resolved. His tone was noticeably irritated and hostile. When I inquired about compensation for this significant inconvenience--particularly given that I am now out over $120 ...with no clear refund timeline--he stated that it was "not his job" to compensate customers. When I respectfully asked him to adjust his tone, he responded rudely and stated that he had other customers dealing with the same issue. I then attempted to ask if I could be contacted once the issue was resolved, and I was told, "You will know when the money is refunded to your account." When I asked for his supervisor's contact information, he refused, told me to find it on the website, and hung up on me. This level of service is completely unacceptable. I should not be subjected to dismissiveness ,and disrespect when I am the one who has been inconvenienced and financially impacted. It is also difficult to understand how a General Manager would not consider it their responsibility to address ,or compensate for a failure in service of this magnitude. In today's economy, being told that I will receive my $120 "whenever it gets refunded" is both dismissive and unacceptable. I would like a clear explanation of how this situation will be resolved, confirmation of my refund, and appropriate compensation for the inconvenience and poor treatment I experienced. We came in excited for a relaxing afternoon in the reclining center seats we specifically booked--only to find them broken, be relocated 30 minutes into the film start, and met with rudeness from the manager after kindly explaining we didn't want to make a big deal out of it. Great bartender, great staff--but management failed us completely. Full story below. CMX CinéBistro Waverly Place - Cary, NC My partner and I came to CMX CinéBistro for a showing of How to Train Your Dragon, choosing this location specifically because of its reclining dine-in seating in the center of the theater--features we prioritize when going to the movies. Check-in went smoothly, and the front desk agent was lovely. We grabbed drinks at the bar, and the bartender was a true standout--warm, engaging, and hands-down the best part of our evening. However, once we got to our seats in Row B, we realized they weren't reclining. That alone made the experience physically uncomfortable and distracting. My partner went to the front desk to ask for help, and they confirmed the seats were inoperable. A manager was called over. He initially claimed the issue had already been resolved--in Theater 4--but we were in Theater 5, and my partner had to correct him several times. His staff also confirmed to him that the seats were not functioning, as they had to my partner before the manager was involved. By the time we were moved to new seats off to the side, it was 30 minutes after the movie had started. At this point, my partner very calmly and clearly told the manager, "We don't want to make a big deal out of this." He explained that we were enjoying the staff, especially the bartender, and were happy to come back another time. But we had carefully chosen our original seats for the comfort and viewing experience they were supposed to provide, and sitting in the far aisle under direct lighting to watch a curved screen from the side simply wasn't what we had paid over $21 per ticket for. Rather than acknowledging our flexibility or trying to find a real resolution, the manager responded, "Well, you are making a big deal out of this. Otherwise you wouldn't be talking to me." That was beyond disappointing. He then came into the theater and offered us two alternate seats mid-movie, which he openly admitted most guests avoid because they're also broken, except for the two directly under an overhead light. When I asked to step into the hallway to avoid disturbing others, he seemed irritated. Ultimately, the manager refused to offer a return visit or passes for a later showing--just a refund. His reasoning? That we might have similar issues with other seats in the future, so rescheduling wasn't worth the risk. We ended our evening by finishing our drinks at the bar--again, our bartender was excellent and left a lasting positive impression. The other staff we interacted with was lovely - and we would be back for them alone had we not had this experience with the manager. But honestly, the way the manager treated us after we clearly stated we were trying not to escalate the situation left us shocked. We weren't looking for anything beyond what we'd paid for, and we made that very clear--kindly and without attitude. Instead, we were made to feel like a burden for asking the manager to take accountability for non-functioning seats that should never have been bookable in the first place. Next time, we'll be heading to Paragon Theatres at Fenton--better value, reclining seats that actually work, and management that doesn't make you feel guilty for simply wanting the experience you reserved. We chose Cinemark Bistro in Cary for Valentine's Day specifically because you advertise a dinner-and-a-movie experience. We paid a premium for that promise. What we got was a complete failure on every level. Our seats were filthy -- covered in popcorn and greasy to the touch. We arrived 20 minutes early to order dinner and were told to order at our seats. When we got there, the server informed us the kitchen was over two hours behind due to staffing issues and wasn't taking food orders. Nobody at the box office or check-in mentioned any of this, so we had no chance to make other plans for our Valentine's dinner. When we asked the manager if we could bring in outside food since their kitchen couldn't function, he was flat-out rude to my wife. Instead of finding a solution, he told us we could put in an order but that she'd probably just complain about the food after the movie anyway. That comment was insulting and completely uncalled for. We ended up with popcorn, drinks, an automatic 19% tip, and a ruined Valentine's dinner. The photo of my Hibiscus Mule was taken at the end of a 2.40 hour movie (Wicked). The drink was medicine flavored... So, how did we get to such a low star review? I was looking for a theater with food and available seats for Wicked which is Popular (no pun intended) at this time. This was the theater offering seats & food which we needed after a long day of travel. I normally check reviews before going places, however, I didn't think that the movie theater, especially of this "caliber" could be so off putting. Firstly, as many reviews are saying, the seats are chewed up at best. I bought my coat in and was able to sit on the keep myself from touching the rough crummy seats. They're supposed to be a deep red/burgundy, but are gray because it's peeled so bad. With how much everything costs, this shouldn't be that hard to fix. The next thing was the menu. It was limited compared to a cinergy dine-in or other dine-in theaters. They didn't even have the classics such as pretzels and cheese dip. Everything was extremely overpriced, but whatever, we came to eat. Got the food and the food was fine. I got the waygu sliders and fries. No complaints and I would order it again. I also got popcorn. No complaints with that either. Like I said before, my drink was utterly disgusting and tasted no better than robitussin cough syrup. On to the service... so I told the server it was our first time there. He mentioned the 19.5% automatic service charge that can be moved up or down. They take your order before the show starts. Upon ordering a drink (Sprite) for my friend who was arriving shortly, I asked if they had a large size and he said they were the same size but he would refill the drink. Now for the price of the food and the gratuity my total was $133 and some change. On my bill was the sliders, popcorn, sprite, 2 mules, and a chicken bowl. I paid for myself and my friend's food. I am expecting a least a refill. The server never returned. So I never got to change that drink. Upon exiting, it was already a new day because we saw a 10pm showing. Everyone was gone except for the gentleman cleaning the room. I asked him where the server was because I wanted to talk about the service. He said well you're supposed to find the server when you want something. I said well for $133 he could've mentioned that as I said I never been and it seemed like he made off with his $21 tip to just take our order and deliver food once. $21 is crazy?!! And I can't get a refill or nothing?! The gentleman said well how much was the drink so I can refund it. I said it was $16. He went to refund and gave me $11 as I told him don't worry about it. That's the server who should be coming up. So myself and my $11 will be back to speak to a manager when they're open because for $133 not including movie tickets and giving the server $21 tip, the service was not okay. A server at a restaurant is different because they'd never even let your water get low. And we were the last row and there were 4 others in the whole theater. The only thing that I do not like about ordering food before the movie is that you have the dishes in front of you because they cut off service when the movie starts. My favorite rows are C or D. I visited for a matinee this afternoon to see the final chapter of Insidious. I received a free anniversary ticket and found the 12:00 matinee perfect for me. I decided to have a large breakfast nearby prior to arriving because they do not offer brunch here. Only lunch and dinner meals. The customer service was excellent and this is a beautiful theater. You must arrive 30 minutes before show time to place your dine-in order. The staff was excellent who offered me a menu. The only complaints I have is that these are more like theater rooms in a home. No stadium seating means that your view of the movie screen is not the best. The seating is very low and so is the screen. The seats could use a upgrade. Reupholstering is overdue. They do not fully recline, they are not zero gravity and do not offer heat. Aside from that, this is a really nice place to dine for dinner and see a movie to beat the crowds. read more

I went this past weekend and was shocked how bad it's gotten. The chairs are all peeling /destroyed, mine looked like it was stabbed with a knife. The food offered through dine in is so weird. The only movie/finger food is popcorn. Yet they have things like steak and poke bowls on the menu. The food service stops once the movie begins, not even drink refills...which kind of defeats the entire purpose of paying more for a dine in theatre. Gratuity is also included in your price, which I'm normally fine with but in a situation where you're simply handing me food once and never coming back...it feels odd to give a 20% tip. You are able to remove this, but you'd have to tell your server after they have handed you a tablet to pay...which almost no one would do. It feels like they do that in hopes making it uncomfortable. I felt like this theatre used to be very comparable to the AMC dine in, in Holly Springs. They are worlds apart now. After having such a disappointing experience, we went to AMC the next day and were thrilled. Skip this theatre and go to an AMC or the Alamo. Hopefully it'll be bought out and resurrected at some point. read more

We just saw Sinners tonight. The movie itself was a 10/10, but unfortunately, the theater experience didn't match. Our server (Devin, I believe?) was very nice, as were all the staff, so no complaints there. However, we paid $40 for two seats in a small theater, and the seats were severely peeling and not very comfortable. When we ordered food, the prices listed on the menu did not match what we were charged. For example, the burger was listed at $19.49 but rang up for over $20, and the soda listed at $6.99 ended up being $7.50. On top of the price differences, tax and tip were added -- plus a 19.5% gratuity (which isn't a big issue, but something to note). The real problem was the food quality: it was not well-seasoned and definitely not worth the high prices. Honestly, I've had McDonald's burgers that tasted better. In total, we spent about $150 for two tickets, basic food, and uncomfortable seats. For that price, you expect a much better experience. I would recommend the Cinemark at Grove Barton in Raleigh over this location. If this theater wants to keep charging premium prices, they really need to invest in some major upgrades. "Chef crafted food" is a stretch. But the lemon drop was 9/10! read more

I have been going to CineBistro for several years and it has been my "go to" spot for all movies. It has everything I like: small theaters, good food, and pleasant staff. In the past year, however, the food quality seems to have taken a tumble and the state of the theater has really suffered from COVID. How can a building suffer from COVID? Good question, so here you go: the requirements for cleaning meant that they had to wipe the seats down with a harsh cleaning agent which caused the seat covers to degrade. I'll attach the pictures of the seats but they were all like that. Apparently later this year they are planning on replacing them and, if they do, I will update the review and adjust the score. As for the food my date and I each did the hanger steak, one order of brussel sprouts, popcorn, M&Ms, and we each got a tea. That came out to be $133.03. Now that's a big night for me but I am willing to pay that for a really good meal. But $60 of that was hanger steak that wasn't very good as it was tough and stringy because of how it was cooked. So I would go with either something else or just stick to the snacks. You'll save some cash and be happier. I really look forward to the remodel and your staff is still quite friendly, so good job there. read more

The theater itself was amazing, clean nice and love the food options. I think I ordered the wrong foods, the foods were beautifully presented! The chicken and rice in the chicken bowl were delicious but the vegetables were to sour for me. The salmon and shrimp were well seasoned but I like thicker mashed potatoes but you may love them. I really like all that they had to offer and I can not wait to experience the theater again. It was an amazing first experience! I loved the movie, the bear needed more camera time! Wow has this place deteriorated. The seats are all falling apart. Not only falling apart but noisy. There were insects flying around during the entire movie. It all felt dirty. It's been a few years since l've been to this location and it will be my last. It was so disappointing and I miss the more upscale experience of times before. Today the food was cold with the exception of kids corn dogs. Popcorn - cold, chicken - cold, burgers cold. Several stalls in the women's bathroom did not have any toilet paper and the floor was not clean. The movie at times was unfocused - or could be just not as advanced technology of newer theaters. Food and drinks were expensive and I'm fine paying for that if the venue itself is nice. It looks great when you first walk in and that's about it. I will say that the staff were nice and helpful. I used to love CinéBistro, but the men's bathroom didn't work so my husband had to go elsewhere. Also the seats are in such bad condition. I had portions of it stuck on my back and the recline doesn't work. Popcorn was all over the floor in the hall but the staff were talking and joking in the kitchen and not cleaning up. I doubt if I'll be back to this location. It definitely needs some TLC read more

This location is EXTREMELY worn out. The fabric on the seats has been shredded for years but on our last visit, the arm rest separating the seats was completely unattached and just laying between the seats as a divider. When I went to the restroom and used the soap dispense, it just fell off the wall. We were there to see "28 years later", so you could say that this theatre totally fit with the theme. I have been coming to Cinebistro since they opened in Cary, NC and this used to be such a fun, luxurious experience but is now depressingly subpar. First of all the seats haven't been repaired or replaced in 10 years and they look disgusting. I have attached a photo- this is an immediate turnoff when you get seated. To add insult to injury, when they finally re-opened after COVID, they completely changed the menu and it's not good at all. Mediocre at best. I used to love their crab dip and all of the entrees were excellent. The burgers are now just not good. I once got the poke bowl and I couldn't eat it , it was so bad. I understand that not everything on the menu can be mind blowing but at this point I've tried almost half the menu and none of it is worth paying for again. Whatever management changes they made during COVID were absolutely the wrong move. I am personally really sad to write this review as I've always been a fan of Cinebistro and used to recommend it all the time. I do not recommend it anymore. read more

This place needs a TOTAL overhaul!!!! The seats in the lobby and in the theater are ALL peeling like a snake shedding its skin. I thought that after a year of me not going there that SOMETHING would be done about the situation, but they DO NOT CARE. My experience gets better every time I come here. I really do adore this place. It's great if you want to treat yourself to a more upscale experience. I frequent the Alamo, but when I want something a little fancier, I come here. The staff is always so polite. They are usually out of a few items whenever I go. There hasn't been a time where I've visited and there, and they have everything on the menu. They usually have great chef specials as well. The seats are comfy, and the food is delicious! read more

We went today for my birthday to see Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning Part 1. We went as a family and paid $45 for 3 people for a 1:30pm show. Movie was Awesome! We were in theatre 1. The seats look terrible and are ripped and torn Our food arrived cold and inedible. The cold fries were replaced with hot ones, but after we ate our burgers. My wagu beef was clearly micro waved and served dead to me on a cold bun with a tomato. This used to be my favorite meal, juicy beef on a warm bum with lettuce and tomato. Hubby got the salmon, it was good but his potatoes and veggies were cold. He did not eat it. They credited our 2 meals. Mum's shrimp was great thankfully. There is a flying bug issue that persisted the entire movie. But we will not be back. I am sad, this used to be a great treat for us. read more

I am and have always been obsessed with this spot since coming here for the first time 4 years ago! I have been waiting to come back and it did NOT disappoint!!! This is 100% one of my top favorite spots in Cary. NC even. We got there early enough to get our food and drinks before the previews started. To drink I had a red wine. To eat I had the burger. Pretty tasty but I'd give it a 4/5. My sister had the short ribs with tater tots and OMG that was DIVINE! 12/10 recommend! We saw "Wrath of Man". Great movie! And can't tell you how happy this experience makes me every time I go! (I'm not sure if it's because of the pandemic, but the first 2 rows were not available for seating. Despite being a Saturday, the theater room was pretty empty. Not complaining as a patron though) read more
