He's the nicest person in the world. That said, I have spent thousands of dollars replacing the silver fillings that were outdated when he applied them. I had one tooth that cracked and required extraction and an implant, and just got my fifth crown. My current dentist is amazed by how many silver fillings I have. I'm 63 but my 30 year old children have the same problem. read more

A warning to parents, children, and adults alike - you will spend the rest of your life paying for the mistake of making Dr. Vece your dentist. As a child my parents took my sister and I to Dr. Vece. They would drop us off and have us tell the staff to do whatever was needed. That came at a hefty price. Though we both took very good care of our teeth, brushed regularly (twice per day), didn't consume much sugary candy and almost never drank sugary drinks, Dr. Vece would repeatedly diagnose us with cavities on *every* single visit, requiring us to make additional appointments for more care. This went on for years and years. When I left Dr. Vece's care as an adult, I had multiple fillings on every premolar and molar tooth in my mouth. You can imagine what that was like for a child to go through - especially since no parent was around to advocate for me because they implicitly trusted the dentist. At this point, as an adult, I have spent thousands and thousands of dollars every year to gradually fix the mistakes that Dr. Vece made, or rather the truly unethical way that he practices, taking advantage of children and their trusting parents. Every dentist I have visited since Dr. Vece has commented on my teeth and my childhood x-rays and said that my teeth are otherwise so healthy, and the x-rays showed no reasons for the fillings. Dentists in California, where I now live, have said that the work that he did would never pass the Dental Board of California as being acceptable practice (e.g. what he did to me was malpractice). Please do yourself a favor and do not put yourself under Dr. Vece's care. You may not realize it for many years, but it will be one of the worst mistakes you make! read more

I have a full upper denture that was made ten years ago and has lasted very well. A year ago, it began losing its grip. I called the doctor who made the uppers for me years ago for advice. I had moved away from his location and wanted his advice since his work was excellent and because he taught at the regional dental college where I had lived, I thought him an expert. He suggested a chair side reline. He stated that a reline can be expected to last normally about 4 to 7 years. I consulted with Dr. Nicholas Vece, in my area, who agreed to do the chair side reline. The reline fit well and when I was leaving the office, I joked about the work lasting quite a while. Dr. Vece made it clear that the relined denture would not last forever. Since I had been told by my former dentist that they should last four to seven years, I knew he was correct when he said, "They will eventually fail." Well fail they did, in only ten months. The liner began peeling in three places. When I called Dr. Vece and told him about the early failure and asked for a repair because of the early failure, he said there would be a charge and that he had told me they would eventually fail. I agreed and asked, ten months doesn't qualify as a normal amount of time for a hard reline. I told him that my former dentist had said it should last 4 to 7 years. He became angry and shouted, "So, are YOU a dentiist?" He berated me for my lack of professional knowledge. Then he hung up on me. Never, in the past, have I ever experienced such combative, insulting and childlike interpersonal behavior from a healthcare provider. Perhaps, it was ultimately for the best. I moved on. read more

My experience with Dr. Vece was a positive one. I went in for a badly broken molar tooth. Upon entering his office, I was greeted with a warm smile and friendly faces. Shortly after filling out paper work, I was called in to see the Dr. Vece. He took his time evaluating, educating and explaining treatment recommendations. I was disappointed to find out I needed a crown because I had never had one. He showed me X-rays and pictures he had taken and reassured me that it was the best way to repair the tooth During treatment, I felt at ease and experienced minimal to no discomfort. I am very satisfied with the work he has done. The crown looks like a normal tooth unlike the silver covered tooth I had before and best of all it doesn't feel any different in my mouth. Thank you! I have been going to Dr Vece for over 25 years - almost since he opened - I have stuck with Dr. Vece because his work has always been above the bar. From Julie at the front desk ( who has also been by his side for the duration) on through I have never been to a more professional office. Let me add I came to Dr. Vece with a fear of dentists. They are gentle and patient and i can't imagine going anywhere else. His work stands on it's own and he is definitely NOT one to talk his patients into any unnecessary treatments. He talked me out of doing some cosmetic work years ago and that has always stuck with me. He is not there just to take your money but truly cares about what happens down the road. He is always going out of his way for those damn cracked teeth that happen on the weekend and he calls afterward just to make sure you are ok. I can't imagine going anywhere else. read more

I don't usually make posts or reviews but had to after checking out my dentist Dr. Vece and saw the post by Sharon O. I don't understand... there is nothing unethical about this dentist or anyone in his office. Anyway, on with my opinion. DR. VECE is the best dentist I've ever had and I will never go anywhere else. My family and I have been going to Dr. Vece for 5 or 6 years. He's kind, compassionate and most importantly, gentle and honest. The office staff is also wonderful. You're always greeted with a smile and treated with respect. Don't think twice about making an appointment... you'll thank me. read more
