I had a wonderful time at the Nicholas Day Spa. My fiancé presented me with a Spa All Day package that included a 90-min massage, one-hour facial, mani, pedi, scalp massage and a blowout. Wow! I've been searching high and low for a spa that could cater to my overly needy skin. My skin has been reacting to something and I wasn't certain of what. My pimples have left behind scars, etc. With the help of their Esthetician Sandra, we have restored my skin. She is so knowledgeable at what she does. She listens to your ever want, and delivers exactly what you need. The entire staff there is so polite and cater to their clients. Such a family feel when you walk in. My review is based upon my experience with the brow specialist, I have not utilized any of the spas other services. I went to Nicholas Day Spa a few weeks ago, I live in the area and have passed by curiously many times and decided to give them a try after looking at their service menu. I was excited for my visit with their "Brow Specialist" since I had been patiently letting my eyebrows grow out for about a month (which you ladies know is a grueling process) in order to have them reshaped and beautified! Upon entering I was warmly greeted and offered a beverage, I had a 1:15 appointment which I was a few minutes early to. While patiently waiting for 50 minutes I had a chance to look around and take in the salon. It was nice and bright, on the smaller side but nicely decorated. Unfortunately, most of my view was of one of the girls that was sweeping up the place. She was wearing a hot pink cut off shirt and daisey dukes. Needless to say I saw practically every bit of her while she was sweeping but she showed it all as she continued to bend over to dustpan up the hair. She did not seem as if she belonged and I found myself feeling uncomfortable (despite being in my early thirties)... Finally, I was called in to see the "specialist". She was one of the sweetest technicians that I have been to very easy to talk to with good conversation, she made me feel like a regular! Unfortunately she terrorized my brows!!!! All of my hard work growing them out and she basically took them all off, she left me looking like a character from angry birds. All of my brows were removed with the exception of the utmost top layer, the arch was removed and they slanted upwards. I was in such shock I just paid and left. Three weeks later and after a trip to sephora I still have to pencil in my brow and wait until it grows in enough to be shaped. read more

About a year ago, I was looking for a salon in the area that offered eyelash extensions that would be both affordable and with results I could trust. I was so happy to find NDS, as they were willing to give me a fill following mine from a previous salon without making me purchase a new set. I have been coming here for over a year now, and would recommend it to anyone looking for amazing, natural looking extensions at a cost that won't break the bank. I have had the pleasure of working with both Adrienne and one of her other eyelash specialists, and both gave great results. I come here not only for special occasions, but for year round fills, and am still always asked if I want a variation from my normal fill. Super considerate service and great overall experience. Eventually I switched from my old salon ( I had be going there for 25 years) to Nicholas. I could not be happier. I can get the appointments I want at the times I need. I am impressed with the professionalism of entire staff from the front desk with Marilyn and Vanessa, to Kay and Gina for spa services, to Angela and Amelia, and, of course, Jona and Manjola. I just went to get a shellac manicure today and it was good. I had shellac on my nails before so the nail technician wrapped my nails in order to get it off. Not all salons do that. The last one I went to had me put my whole hand in a bowl of acetone. That was awful. Anyway, the service was nice. The technician offered me tea while I was waiting. And the service took about an hour. My nails came out good. My only gripe is that the nail technician put too much lotion on my hands. Other than that, it was all good. read more

LOVE!LOVE!LOVE! Absolutely love Nicholas Day Spa. I initially starting going to get my eyebrows shaped and then decided while I was there to get a hair cut and color. The receptionist is super friendly and helpful by explaining which stylist would work best with my hair type and needs. She set me up with a young lady named Rebecca. Rebecca knew exactly what I was looking for she didn't take too much off the ends like other salons have done in the past and did an amazing job on a natural ombre color. Rebecca understands the new hair trends and does a kick-ass job at it. I received numerous compliments on the amazing ombre blend job even after months past. The color lasts for months!! Rebecca has done my hair now a couple of times and I refuse to go anywhere else. I am so satisfied with the job she does and always walking out happy and beautified. Nicholas Day Spa is quite and calm. They always offer you either tea or coffee which is nice while you wait for your appointment. I always enjoy going and getting my hair done with Rebecca. Making appointments are easy and they always take you right on time sometimes even before. Parking is easy as well just make sure you have quarters because it is metered parking. I would definitely recommend going to Nicholas Day Spa for any hair treatment and ask for Rebecca. I have not used their other services except the waxing lady and the hair service. read more

When I went there on my birthday, the massage was nice, but during the facial, the beautician got some sort of chemical in my eyes that stung and burned, so I had to spend 15 minutes at the sink trying to wash it out, so the visit, which was fairly pricy, wasn't much of a birthday treat after all. read more

Went for the first time and Nicholas did high and low lights and a cut. He took the time to go over what I was looking for and he delivered. He works at a very fast pace with foil and I felt extremely confident during my color and cut. He is a great communicator and very skilled and professional. I am very pleased at the results. I came here yesterday to have a lash extension fill. I found Adrienne on the Novalash website because the woman who does my lashes back home (in California) is also trained by Novalash. I have tried three other Novalash trained people who do lash extensions and even though I love the Novalash product, not all lash stylists do the same great job. I think the "advanced trained" makes a big difference...and Adrienne cares about the quality of her work. I was so happy that Adrienne knew about the products, and exactly what she was doing. The quality of my lashes she did are amazing. She separated them very well, none of them poked at my eyelids or crossed each other, she applied just the right amount of glue, and was a pleasure to spend the hour fill with. I'm so glad I finally found someone who does them so well (other than my stylist back home) and I can continue to have extensions in New York! The whole place was clean and my experience with the front desk was pleasant and prompt with phone calls. I look forward to my fill in two weeks. It's worth the hour drive from up north where I am! I have been a very satisfied client at Nicholas Day Spa and Salon for a 7 year period. Initially, I was a client at a salon in Manhattan and accustomed to exceptional service. When I decided to leave the city and embrace suburbia full time, I needed a salon that would provide the same quality service. It took me several fumbles around Westchester County before I came to Nicholas. I was recommended by a friend to see Heather, a senior stylist. I never looked back! Heather replaced my Manhattan stylist over these last seven years. Two months ago, Heather retired. I have had the great fortune of experiencing all the other stylists over the years as well, so transitioning was easy. Rebecca, Mercedes, Manola are all fantastic colorists/stylists. Most importantly, in conjunction with their superior styling skills, they are excellent listeners. This allows them to execute their clients' wishes to perfection! Also, stylists are not uptight about clients trying something different from time to time with their colleagues. A client absolutely never feels awkward about trying out a service with another stylist. I also have experienced the high quality spa services offered by outstanding spa staff. Ula, Gina, and Chris are amazing technicians, estheticians, and massage therapists. The entire staff can rival any of those in Manhattan salons and throughout Westchester County. This also includes the professional reception desk manager, Vanessa, who courteously manages bookings and accommodates both regulars and walk-ins with deft skill combined with patience and a smile. Kudos to Nick and Adrienne (owners). Nicholas Day Spa and Salon is a serene oasis conveniently located in lower Westchester ( 29 mins. from GC to Pelham) that makes your entire salon and spa experience a respite for both frazzled hair and nerves. read more

It's a nice place, the people are lovely. My only problem - and I've been going there for years - is that the owner, Nick, seems to be very burnt out. He is always nice, but he seems more and more to hate his job...he once complained to be (during the last week of January) that he was annoyed that everyone wanted to get their hair done (during the holidays!) He also once mis-colored my hair because he seemed to have misunderstood what I meant when referring back to "last time" and make my highlights MUCH lighter than I wanted. My feeling is that he is better earlier in the day (I often went on their late-night Thursdays) or at least earlier in the week. But in reality, you shouldn't plan / schedule a hair appt based on the crankiness of the stylist, should you. His cuts are always, consistently great - and they grow out well for quite a while. He's just not overly creative (actually, pretty conservative.) The one time I got a cut from one of his staff, it was dreadful, but I chalk it up to just one bad cut (Nick immediately rectified it by giving me a new cut at no cost.) Customer service is always excellent. read more
