This was essential to my recovery as it protected me from further aggravating my injury. I had been to PT elsewhere, and this is the first time my treatment was so effectively tailored to my needs. Kristin and Kara were extremely capable, and I trusted them completely with my care. They were realistic in their expectations, and were incredibly nice and supportive. They gave me the hope and encouragement I needed to really work my hardest in my recovery. The Memory Care area is beautiful and bright with an outside courtyard and provides appropriate activities and food service for the residents. The management and staff have been excellent in their care and concern as well as supportive for the resident and the family. Any questions or concerns are responded to quickly. I have moved into a Highlands independent living apartment and can walk to Memory Care for visits at anytime.

However I was shocked and angry about what happened to my friend, who lived there eleven years and donated big bucks to their charity fund. They would not let him stay in his own apartment and hire the help he needed. He was forced to move all his things out at a time when his wife had just passed away. Then he was forced to move again to a small room. He was in rehab and told he could not go back to the small room. They made him sit in the dining room when he wanted to go back to his room. This was ASPIRE care. No one would speak to me about his care until I paid for a Power of Attorney, which he allowed me to do. All in all it was a painful disheartening procedure for a grieving man who was also having his own medical issues. I am a paid-up future resident, but neither my husband or I would put ourselves in their care in the future. To quote my husband, "They treated him like a sack of potatoes." His father was treated much better at Fredericks.

I live down in the southern end towards the MD line but this hospital was worth the drive! I had an appointment for a EEG awake and drowsy with a CTC named Connor. Connor gave me a whole new perspective on nurses, he made me realize that there are still good people out there! I was extremely anxious and had terrible anxiety before the test, but my CTC Connor reassured me during the entire process. He explained the procedure very thoroughly. He made me feel extremely safe and comfortable and was so kind! I would definitely recommend Connor for your EEG! The environment alone in the hospital was pleasing. You don't feel judged or bothered. You feel safe, and comfortable. I would highly recommend this facility for any sort of treatment! The nurses and staff are so kind. The name speaks for itself..Good Samaritanhope to have future appointments here!

(My mother has a favorite farmers market donut, cherry topped. A staff member started picking them up on way into work. On days when the market isn't possible, she keeps a jar of cherries in the fridge so she can dress up a regular donut.) I had such horrible experiences w/ a memory care unit at a facility in Douglassville. Constant staff changes, staff that seemed to have zero medical knowledge, could barely speak English or be understood (a nightmare for elderly w/ hearing loss & a failing brain), & dreaded my visits. Instead of learning quirks or adding more staff, they heavily medicated to the point of weekly trips to the emergency room from falls. All of Spruce seems to be long standing members of the industry, many of which have worked at Spruce for years. From Theresa in the finance office to Arlene on night shift (both a pleasure to deal w/). 4 stars because facility could use some renovating- it is very dingy & dated. But come to realize looks are deceiving. Other places shiny & new, but understaffed, undertrained, & uncaring. Spruce gets right what matters. I PURPOSELY show up at all hours. My mother is always groomed, safe, and smiling. Staff always happy to engage.
