Absolutely as good as it gets!…read more I was in need of dentist for my 2 year old. I had heard enough dental horror stories to know I wanted a pediatric dentist. When I first moved here I heard some parents say Auburn Pediatric Dentistry was a good place to go, so given it's the only pediatric dental facility nearby I decided to give it a shot. I spoke with Jenny on the phone, who was extremely professional, yet friendly (the best combination in customer-oriented field). She was detail-oriented and smart enough to verify that our scheduled time was not during nap time (a brilliant question to ask!). She gave good advice as to what to tell my daughter about the upcoming visit and when I had questions to ask I didn't feel like I was being hurried off the phone (invaluable!). Jenny emailed me the forms to fill out ahead of time and then I also got a reminder call a week in advance. I believe our appointment was about two weeks from the time we called, so that seemed like a reasonable time to wait for an opening. When I first heard the dentist's hours I thought "well that's typical!" Meaning dentists always seem to have a truncated work week. However, in the next sentence, it was explained that the days that Dr. Derrow wasn't in the office was because she was doing work at Riley's Children's Hospital and the like. Okay, well, see, this is why you shouldn't jump to conclusions. She wasn't off getting her nails done--she was helping really sick kids. So today was D-day. After reading Dora's "Show Me Your Smile" book a dozen times we headed over (it's very near the hospital). Everything about their office is geared towards their patients; they even have an alligator mailbox! We walked in and saw my daughter's (first) name listed on the Welcome Board. What a nice little touch! We were given a warm welcome by Jenny when we signed in. The fish tank (Nemo-themed) and kid sized tables and chairs were greatly endorsed by my daughter as we sat in the waiting room. They do have a policy about not being seen (potentially) if you are more than 10 minutes late. I think we got called in right around 10 minutes after our scheduled appointment time. (I would have a problem with an office where you can't be 10 minutes late, but they can. Not that I think the clients should be late. More so, I believe the doctors/dentists shouldn't be either!) We were taken back by Megan who did her best to elicit a smile from my daughter by taking the time to show her the treasure chest and the paintings of the underwater scenes through out the office. She did a fantastic job of talking to both patient and parent and in explaining what was going to happen in child-friendly terms. Dr. Derrow was a blessing! She took several minutes before getting started to talk with my daughter and asked questions that are 2 year old-friendly (Do you have any dogs at home? Are you in a big-girl bed or still in your snuggly crib?). She even had grape-scented purple latex gloves. How cool is that? What told me this was a place to have as our "dental home" was when my daughter started to cry (it's virtually inevitable at this age, isn't it?) and I began singing, "Wheels on the Bus" and I was joined in by not only Megan, but also by Dr. Derrow. Everyone in that office goes above and beyond to make your child feel cared for and welcomed. So many people congratulated my daughter on her first dental visit (even staff that wasn't directly caring for her) that it felt like she had a cheering section. Moreover, all of the staff seems to get along with one another, as well, and it shows. Oh and Tracy was extremely pleasant and super helpful as we were paying and saying goodbye. I even ended up with a good recommendation for Chinese food on my way out! One thing I might do differently, though, is just to pick up their dental brochure before going in for your child's first visit. The pictures show what the office looks like and there are photos of Dr. Derrow to help your child know what and whom to expect. Over all, I will absolutely be recommending this office again and again. Auburn is very blessed to have them here.

When I found Little Smiles in Cicero was the closest to our home within our new network, I took a chance and I can proudly say I love this place. The atmosphere is welcoming to kiddos of all ages (chalk in the entry for little ones to create on the sidewalk, tv with cartoons, kid friendly video games, and they even have a little castle in the waiting room) and the staff are incredibly friendly. I unfortunately had a headache while waiting for my childrens appointment to be done and the woman at the front desk immediately offered to turn off the tv for me to sit in silence. I was so thankful for her empathy! My younger kiddo does have a fear of the dentist and after expressing this, the staff made sure to accommodate my child's appointment and go at her pace. Dr. Janer was so sweet & even allowed my daughter to see her tiny dogs who are in the office as emotional support! I walked in on Tuesday after Memorial day with my 5 tooth bridge in a baggie because it Broke off out of my mouth on Memorial day. 2 lady's where at the front desk (reception, and Dentist? The dentist who did them told me he had made them longer, rounded, and "fixed" my bite. The year that ensued was awful, and I felt trapped, my smile used to be "cheesier" with my top teeth on "top" of bottom teeth when I smile. This CA dentist made it so that I was forced to withdraw my lower jaw when I smiled. It felt AWFUL. And then I had a veneer break and I came back home to good ole Indiana to this office (Bruner Dental). My sister had her teeth done here years ago so I went in with faith that it might fare better for me. The dentist, Dr. Sneed, went above and beyond to listen to me and my troubles with feeling trapped like a person because of these long and "gangly" teeth that the dentist in LA had given me. He asked for a picture of what my teeth used to look like. He not only gave me a new veneer, he shortened my teeth and for the first time in a year I felt like I could breathe again and smile again in my "cheesy" fashion. Over the past few years if I've chipped one of them and had to have them rebonded or had to get a new one made, I fly all the way from California to Indiana to let him do his magic! He always makes sure to get the perfect color match, and I always leave his office with teeth that actually feel like they belong to me....not like feeling like I had "aliens" in my mouth like the dentist in LA did. Dr. Sneed and his entire staff are so sweet and welcoming, I will never go anywhere else to have my teeth worked on. If you are in need of any kind of dental work done, I recommend this office! My 9 year old had an adult molar that had been causing excruciating pain. We knew she had a cavity, but our general dentist suggested we see Dr. Musal since it was an adult tooth and he wasn't sure if it would be worth capping or if it should be removed. After my daughter's evaluation, Dr. Musal explained the treatment options clearly and addressed all my questions and concerns. He actually ended up extracting the tooth and did this all in the same day. Glad I didn't have to trek back to Muncie for a separate treatment appointment, no small venture driving from Richmond. I really appreciated how accommodating he was and of course how quickly my daughter was cared for. Check in staff and ancillary nursing were all warm and friendly. The office was clean and modern. Overall a really good experience! I will be back to take the toddler here for her first check up!
