Armando and his father from Great Oak Landscaping came out, told me what needed to be done and gave me a very good estimate. They spent 3 whole days removing and leveling many of the pavers, then refilling everything with polymeric sand. The end result was way above my expectations and it looks like a new patio for a fraction of the cost. I would highly recommend these guys not only for their quality work but you could tell they're also a very nice family and easy to talk to.

The patio is along the back of my house and there are 2 doors going into the house from the patio, one slider and one hinged door. The new patio looks good enough but the whole thing is too high relative to the house, the top of the pavers are the same height as the top of the door saddle. I can not install a storm door because it will hit a floor mat. I had asked Manuel to make the patio about an inch below the door saddles during the estimate and again before the pavers were installed, he agreed but didn't do it. It's discouraging, the patio looks nice but it's the wrong height. Now I face the dilemma of living with it or having another contractor rip it out and install it at the right height.

Hank Johnson, owner of Stone Artistry, came out personally to assess our situation and sent us an estimate the next morning. We appreciated his vast knowledge of his craft as he took stock of our situation. It's obvious that he has decades of experience under his belt. Hank has a good sense of humor and is a very personable. He made us feel at ease and that we could trust his assessment of things. His communication was consistent and responsive both by email and text. He kept us updated about where progress on the job stood and what we could expect moving forward. His crew was courteous and kept the job-site organized and tidy. At one point Hank noted to us that the wall required more attention to shore it up and avoid faster deterioration down the road. His added estimate was fair and he made it very clear as to why the additional work was needed. Hanks' crew not only repaired the portion of the wall and made it look really good- but they cleaned the surface of the entire wall and removed sand and dirt that had accumulated at its base. There were many larger pieces of flagstone and other rocks that didn't get used in the repair job and Hank's crew left all of that on premises - which felt very honest!
