The paved walk was in and out leading to the marsh we could see the ocean in the distance and had hoped it would take us out to it, but it does not. We met two people walking their dogs who told us about the longer second trail in the woods. So we walked back to the windmill, took the side road back until we found the green trail markers. Well marked trail that made a loop connecting with the paved trail. Another nice little walk. There are several picnic tables scattered around, a restroom, playground area, gazebo and large open field that could be used for tossing a ball or frisbee.

It's a wonderful view to take in while on the Cape. Also, for the kids, there is a playground. Be careful of the bees on the grass, especially at the windmill. The parking lot is interesting, where instead you'll just pull over, with the expectation of hindicap. Great and peaceful spot.

I didn't get to ride the entire thing, since I had to turn back to catch the train home to Boston, but I'd like to come back and ride it in full. Great alternative to the Minuteman if you're looking to get outside the city and bike somewhere with less people. Most of the trail there isn't a ton to see, but there are some cool areas (views of the water, golf courses, etc.). That being said, I didn't make it past Brewster (started in Hyannis), so I'm not sure what's beyond that point. I'd come back for sure!

Some moron was fishing and claimed he was there first and said I should have seen him and avoided anywhere near. He shouted obscenities at me and I responded. He proceeded to go back to his truck, a white pickup, and then decided to vandalize my car. Knowing I was about a 1/2 mile from shore he didn't even have the guts to face me and through iced coffee in my car making a sticky mess. Watch out for fishermen driving white pickup!

On the bay side of the cape, this beach has relatively calm and shallow waters, perfect for families or those who don't typically enjoy rough waves. High tide leaves a narrow but lengthy stretch of sand to stake out. Low tide reveals a massive sandbar, perfect for sand castles and lounging around. A bit rocky when you are first wading in but take the time and find the paths through the rocks that people create and you'll reach the rest of the sand in no time. Small parking lot for town permit holders. An overflow lot (where Massachusetts State Park pass holders can pull in as well) is available a couple minutes walk up the road. Port-a-potties are available in-lot during the summer months. Both days I visited, an ice cream truck made an appearance. Otherwise, the beach is basic without additional amenities. Not too crowded on the mid-summer weekdays that I visited. Great beach option for your Cape getaway. Next time I'm down, I'll definitely return.

Microwave, Mini Frig, T.V with Cable. Small coffee pot set up. A desk, table 2 chairs. Hangers and luggage rack. There is a great Pool which is a big perk. Unfortunately, this year was to cold to swim. We had swam last year and it was great! There is a Supermarket across the street and the beach not far at all. The motel provides an informative binder. The town center is actually within walking distance for most people about 1/4 to 1/2 miles away. Becareful though, the road in front of the property, at the traffic lights gets very busy. We witnessed a bad car accident while waiting to cross the street, the 1st year. A Continental Breakfast with delicious homemade muffins is served every morning. To be totally transparent and give a 100% honest review these next things were a few minor issues that only happened our last visit. The water pressure in the shower was very slow. No shower liner, (not the problem) the fabric curtian got soaking wet and wet the whole floor, causing a slipping hazzard. The soap and shampoo/conditioners weren't filled. We were supposed to be given a second key that was never dropped off. Had the T.V. shut off at about 10pm while we were watching, out of nowhere. I called the office to let the staff know and got a NOT my problem response, that I wasn't excepting. This year we had tried to book 2 days again, but only one was available. We decide to take the 1 night and pay more then we would have elsewhere. No sure about next year.

Lakes hills and…read moretrails The Princess Beach Conservation Area is a lovely parcel of land that includes a beach on fresh water Scrago Lake and pleasant trails that branch off into the woods in all directions. Most of the trees are pines so the hiking is very soft because of the pine needles, and the smell of the pine trees and ocean mixing together is wonderful. Scrago Lake is a whole lot warmer than the always cold as @#$% direct ocean beaches of Cape Cod Bay and usually much, much calmer. A nice place to bring the family and little kids when you don't want them to drown, get washed out to sea, or get eaten by giant kraken. There is a fee for parking cars during the summer but if you happen to know someone in the area they'll probably have a sticker and you can bum a ride with them. There is no charge if you bike or walk and in the off season you can park anywhere you want. A lovely and peaceful little area that is a very pleasant place to explore, take a short and easy hike or perhaps do some swimming. A great place to spend some time and energy no matter what the season.
