I have been coming to Nick's since moving to Paso Robles and meeting Nick in church. During that time I have had the pleasure of having my hair cut in the old school style (scissors & comb cut, straight razor around ears & back of head, trim mustache &!eyebrows, no hair clippers.). After Nick retired, his daughter Nicole and then his grandson John have continued the excellent hair styling. Gets crowded at times but worth the wait. read more

Not the first time here, but certainly my last. Pre-school haircut.. waited an hour (expected) they are always busy. Prices (like everything else) have gone up over the years. $28 for a men's haircut. Finally, my son makes it to the chair and 10 mins later done. With the long line.. I open my wallet.... Pull out my payment (happened to be a $100). The lady counts me back my change, "$65 change" ....My response, uh - a men's haircut is $28 it should be $72 back. She looks at me and states - "well it's $35 for LONG HAIR!! ARE YOU SERIOUS?!!! My son's hair is off his collar! (Picture below). I think the pricing was adjusted based on the currency of choice to pay - won't do business with crooks. Shame! We are all in the struggle .... Oh my!!! What a Find!!! While searching for a Paso Robles Barber Shop, most opened at 9:00 & required an appointment. Nothing technically wrong with that, but I was just not in the mood. Nick's had opened at 8:00, so gave them a call to see if they accepted Walk-Ins. The answer was...YES. Off I went. There were two men barbers & one lady barber. My Lucky Day, I was assigned to the Lady. She was All Professional. No Idle Chatter, Just An Amazing Hair Cut. I am a Senior, and when I asked what I owed her, I was embarrassed at her answer. I knew what the other shop's advertised chargers were, so simply increased my usual gratuity. Even my wife was impressed, so that was good. This is my New Go-To Barbershop. A great, walk-in barber shop. Stopped in to get my hair cut prior to my cousin's wedding this upcoming weekend. Coming from out of town, I had no idea what to expect. The staff was all very friendly. I was sat immediately, briefly said what I normally get gone, had my haircut within a half hour, and I was completely satisfied with how it came out. We take our son to Nick's every three weeks or so. They offer a child discount, suckers for after the haircut (!!!) and they do a fantastic job! Eddie is our favorite barber because he always speaks of good character things. Yesterday he told my son to promise to listen to me. He's discussed good sportsmanship with my son before. Nick's Barber Shop is outstanding - as good as a barber shop gets. The price is right, they have military, senior and child discounts. This is the only shop on the central coast I have been able to get an excellent razor high and tight - and I've gotten about 20 since moving here. They are open seven days a week and have very accommodating hours for a barber shop. There are always 3+ barbers on staff so the wait time is also usually quite low. Every barber also seems to be fluent in both English and Spanish - always a bonus. If you are a man who enjoys very high quality, consistent and reliable hair cuts, go to Nicks. They don't take appointments unfortunately, but again, I've never had to wait more than 10 minutes. read more
