Here's my experience with this scam joint. 1) Bought a groupon. Scheduled an appointment for tinting. 2) Showed up early for my time...and found out that several cars were scheduled at the same time. 3) Waited nearly 4 hours nearby, at which point they called to tell me "We don't have the material we use for Groupon orders." Me: "I assume that means it's cheaper material." Them: "Yes." 4) I ask for them to upgrade the material since I drove a half hour to their shop and waited 4 hours for...nothing. They responded in an extremely rude manner, told me no way, and that I could wait another 2 hours for them to send someone out for the cheap stuff. 5) I told them to F off. Nick has a son that runs the shop. He was the one who not only gave me the appointment time, but was there to make sure I had a horrible experience. Hey Nick, FIRE YOUR SON. Also, when someone buys a package from you, and you're not properly supplied because you didn't do your job, MAKE IT RIGHT. Give the customer the higher grade material so they give you good reviews. This review is NOT about price, as per the owner's comments below, it is about ETHICAL BUSINESS PRACTICES, and businesses we should be supporting and not supporting if they are not ethical! Please read below what happened to me, and check out the other negative reviews before giving this business any money. Would give a lower than one star if I could. Bait and switch! Do not go here. Purchased a Groupon for five windows. The car is a two door and only has five windows there are no split windows. When we showed up he said that there is small print in the Groupon section that says it's only for rear windows because the front window can not be legally tinted in California which is a complete lie Google it, the California website says it can be tinted up to 70%. When we showed him the Groupon that didn't say anything about a "legal limit" he said that Groupon must have changed it and if we wanted the front windows done it would be another $80. DO NOT GO HERE! AND TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW. There are to many good ethical businesses out there struggling during these tones to give this person/company any more business. We left and will be requesting a full refund from Groupon. Funny that Nick H.'s comment is about price only, trying to make it look like we are just cheap and was arguing about the price, yet he doesn't once refute anything that happened. This post is NOT about pricing it is about ethical business! If you say in your add that it is for 5 windows, then you as the business owner should not LIE about: 1) Groupon took off the fine print, and then when we show you the fine print, you lie about how it is illegal to tint the front windows in California and that Groupon won't let you.... Many thanks to Michael M. and SiMonster for their reviews. I thought I'd take the plunge and get my "winnows tin-ned" at Nick's last weekend. I figured, only two reviews, but 10 stars between them, it was worth a shot on my Scion xA. $190 later (would have been $180 if I paid cash), I am a happy customer after letting the tint marry itself to my windows. It sounded like it was a slow day for Nick's because I called in a few times that morning after a nightmarish 4 hour oil change and they kept saying to stop by anytime. Right when I pulled up, I saw a Scion tC with a pretty sick tint job that was just being finished. I told Nick that I pretty much wanted the same thing, but that I wanted 50% on the front two windows and 20% on the rest (7 pieces of glass total). He said that it was no problem and that I shouldn't have any problems with the poh-leese with 50% on the sides. Like Michael M. and the SiMonster, my car was finished in about 45 minutes. I guessed that it'd take about an hour and 15, which Nick said was reasonable, but while I was being nosy and watching them work on my car at the McDonald's across the street, I saw that they were done in 45 minutes! I walked on over and Nick told me to come over and check it out. I was thrilled with how it looked, but could definitely see some small bubbles all around from the inside of the car that worried me. I thought I was going to have to live with it, but they told me to give it a few days to let the bubbles go down after the adhesive had some time to bond and evaporate. I thought, "There's no effing way the bubbles will go down." I thought I was going to have to come back. One day later: Still bubbles...little worried... Two days later: Still bubbles...very worried... even called Nick. He assured me that it would be fine and if it wasn't, I could come back. Luckily, he's very nice. Five days later: NO MORE BUBBLES! HUZZAH! (I took the bus for a couple days, so I didn't actually see days three and four) The tint is perfect all around. The best part about the ceramic tint is that it's still very easy to see out of your windows from the interior of the car, but it blocks a lot of sun and is VERY dark from the outside. With 20% all around, my windows make passengers look like silhouettes from the outside, but I have no problems seeing out the sides or the back when changing lanes or parallel parking. I almost think I should have gone 5% on the back windows. The 50% on the driver and passenger side is perfect as well if you want to have a little tint, but no attention from the cops. Just be patient and trust Nick, the bubbles will go down! And if not, it's a lifetime warranty. If you just want some solid, high quality black (REAL black, not purple black), ceramic tint, head down to Nick's and he'll hook you up. read more

Really mixed experience of this place. They were 40 minutes late to meet me in the morning, which made me late to my meeting at work. Locked up tight, totally closed way after their opening time. Then on the flip side, picking it up at the end of the day, they were down the street and I had to wait ten minutes for them to come back and get my car out for me. I got quoted two different prices for a 428i coupe. 1st time $110 and $160 the second time. The first time I called for an appt i was quoted $110, but had a matter and was not able to show up. However, i went back the next day and they were close so I decided to give them a call on when they were going to be back. I was told that they were going to be back and 4pm. I also wanted to make sure on the price and so decided to ask again. This time it was $160. I then i told them that i was quoted $110 which they did agree to on that price. I dropped my car off from 4:30pm-8pm. After the service was done I notices that there are scratches on window of the drivers side. I first thought it was marks from white chalk or so but after checking multiple time, they are actual scratches that can be done maybe from the tools they might have used. So maybe just checked on the prices they quote you and check on the after product once your car is done. read more

The work itself seems fine but I had wanted a darker tint for the front side windows. The service person refused to do it citing the legal limit in California of 70%. This place is awful- we called about having our Mercedes 250 windows tinted--they told us it would be $110. We made an appointment to come in at 2:00 pm on a wednesday, the only time they said they had available, and I came home early from work in order to take the car in. When we got there, they told us that they not be able to work on our car that day- they then told us that while they DID quote us at $110 for the job, they would have to charge us $150 instead because they're so busy. Still don't get the logic. This place is a joke, and I don't appreciate being the recipient of the oldest trick in the book, the ol' bait and switch. They thought since we were already down there we would go ahead and pay more than what was agreed upon. I can not recommend Nicks. Appointment was 10 days back. He bait and switched pricing on me. He fucked with a savvy Venice local and it was a mistake. . He will lie and say I was belligerent and threatened his property. He will say I blew smoke in his face. We were never that close cuz COVID. HE WILL SAY I WAS DRUNK I was nor . I was upset cuz my phone had just broken during a Motorcyle race and could not bring up a pic of the Groupon. The facts are - I was 20 minutes late due to traffic. He then told me he could not see me for another week. If you buy a Groupon he is in no hurry to service you Nick then changed the price three times. None of which were reflected in the fine print of the Add. I have reported him and his business to Groupon and the BBB. And furthermore , he was rude and dismissive. If he continues to lie about me - I will call the IRS and have his business audited. Details So three weeks later I arrive , he saw I had out of state plates and a Groupon and decided I was a good mark for bait and switch tactics. Nick then added extra costs. First he said hat I was only covered for three windows which is contrary to the Groupon. Then he said the coupon covered a legal tint very light gradient. Why would a darker color cost more - it's the same cost to him? Because he can extort more money as everyone wants ( at least in the back ) slightly darker than the archaic legal limits To complete the 5 windows on my small economy car he quoted me an additional $150 on top of the $100 Groupon I had already purchased. I had been to him before, a year ago without a Groupon and had more success. But with the out of state plates and a diffident car , but he did not remember me and clearly resents the Groupon rates and tried to take advantage of me. I am a west side Local born and raised and I just can't stand for this type of bullshit. His coworker and him were abusive and dismissive to the point of me almost calling the cops. I've brought a car here before and they did a fantastic job but recently brought another and it had bubbles after the week they told me to wait like they said. They told me they wouldn't redo it and that not every job is 100% guarantee. What a joke. Dude had the audacity to argue with me after paying $380 for my tints. Told them I was disputing this since they didn't want to redo it or give me my money back and so they said they're taking off the tint. They didn't even take it off the correct way and just yanked it off without removing the adhesive. They work out of M&M auto tinting now too since they're the same owner. Also, don't pay with Venmo. Edited: So responding to their response... They didn't even offer to redo a couple of the windows for the bubbles showing. He said "does it affect your vision?" Like what? Realistically no, but can I get a clean job that I paid for? "We don't guarantee all of our work is 100% perfect" but you then said "Our work is 100% guaranteed..." I read the reviews before trying Nick's. I figured that the 2 or so negative reviews had to be unlikely aberrations since Nick's had over 20 other five-star reviews. I was right; This place is excellent. I called ahead and asked if it was a good time to bring my 535i in for tinting. They said I could stop by in an hour and when I drove up, they were pulling a newly tinted Honda out of the garage (it looked nice). Three people swarmed my car and finished tinting 5 windows in exactly 47 minutes. Nick charged me $180. I paid cash. It's been a week now and all of the expected preliminary bubbles have disappeared, leaving a dark perfectly cut tint on my windows. There isn't any place to sit there, but there are restaurants and a coffee shops within walking distance. I chose to stay and watch my tint being applied and the job was finished so quickly, I didn't care about the seating arrangements. One bragging point I think Nick's isn't capitalizing on is that Kobe Bryant gets his cars tinted there. There is a wall of photos featuring their tinting work and Kobe's pic is there amidst all the others -not blown up larger or otherwise highlighted. (Note, I doubt that I could get away with 360 degree limo tint -including windshield like Kobe can, but...) Nicks needs to promote this fact with all the rabid Laker fans who live in the area. If you need your car tinted, Nicks is your place. Great job. I'll go back. read more
