AVOID I paid for colored XPEL PPF ($6500) and as best I can tell they installed cheaper Vinyl Wrap, poor install with many flaws and damaged parts of the BMW X5 ___ I brought my BMW in for a full XPEL PPF installation and was told the vehicle would be ready on Saturday, May 30. I then received multiple delays, first being told it would be ready Saturday night, then Sunday, and ultimately not receiving the vehicle until later. Two days later, I picked up the car and was charged for an XPEL PPF installation and was provided an XPEL warranty. The following day, I inspected the vehicle in direct sunlight and found numerous installation defects also observed damage to two window trim components, damage to paint on the door and found that the reflectors had been covered with film/tape. I then had the vehicle inspected by another professional. Based on that inspection, I was informed that the material installed appeared to be 3M vinyl wrap rather than XPEL PPF. Concerned about these findings, I returned to the Tint World location twice on Thursday, once around 11:00 AM and again around 3:00 PM. On both occasions, no one was there. I was thinking of coming here to have my windows tinted, but just read that you damaged someone's car, the judge agreed by the evidence provided and judgement was filed against this business and you guys refused to pay? It is terrible customer service practice and the thought that you people don't take responsibility for what you did to a customer let's me know this is not an honest business. I will never do business with any Tint World franchise again. In my experience, it appears that some franchise locations are allowed to open without adequate training, experience, or quality control. The location I visited at 4130 Lincoln Blvd, Marina del Rey, caused significant damage to my vehicle while tinting the windows. During the installation process, they broke one of my vehicle's windows. The cost to replace the damaged window was $1,275. The owner refused to properly resolve the issue, which left me with no choice but to file a claim in Small Claims Court. I won the judgment, but the owner still failed to pay. I subsequently reported the matter to the Secretary of State. The business has since closed. Before choosing a tint shop, I encourage consumers to carefully read customer reviews and research the company's track record to avoid similar experiences. I went in, met with the owner, we went over the best tint for my car. I moved my schedule around to fit in the appointment before I left town. I got a text confirmation the day before my appt, I confirmed. The next day, I arrived to a closed shop, no phone call or cancellation... just CLOSED!! The phone number to the shop was already disconnected. I called another location and they said, "think they're undergoing new management". UNPROFESSIONAL, at least cancel your scheduled appointments!!! So disrespectful of people's time and schedules. read more

I was skeptical because there were no reviews of this place but I had been to a Tint World in San Diego a couple years back and was pretty satisfied with the work done there at the time. I hadn't realized this was a chain. I called up the place and the guy on the phone (who turned out to be one of the owners, Pine) told me it had just opened a week prior, so I decided to go anyway. Despite having waited a long time from negotiating prices until completion of tints (apparently their other tint guy took a last-minute day off), I am satisfied with their work. I was very hesitant the whole way because, again, of the lack of reviews, but took a leap of faith based on this being a reputable enough chain. Asked a lot of questions throughout and got suckered into getting all the windows done, even the back and rear which I hadn't planned to. The price I ended up paying was still more than I would've liked especially given that they haven't even had their grand opening yet. But I had a new car and decided to suck it up as a "Buy Once, Cry Once" sort of necessity. I am not a Car Guy™; my main concerns I wanted to address were heat rejection, UV protection, and privacy (or rather preemptive measures against theft, since my older car had been broken into), so I opted for their highest quality film. If you go now they will be willing to work out a deal with you. They told me grand opening is in April so I guess they're still in their soft opening phase. Just a word of caution--if your car has a lot of insulation uhhh... dots? on the windshield, you will run into adhesive issues because of the nature of the textured dots. I wish I had been told that from the get-go, since there is no way around it as I was told when I went back a few days later to get it smoothed out. But they all did their best to explain to me and smooth it out best they could. The brothers, Pine and Win, are extremely kind.
