(Fool me once, twice, and being the fool I must be, three times). But MAAS ! Now there is nothing wrong with a good ham and cheese sandwich, but constantly labelling this sandwich as Proscuitto is quite a stretch. The Ham is quite ordinary -- not even Black Forest or Virginia (more like Kraft packaged) and an ordinary Swiss cheese (no Italian cheese to accompany the faux proscuitto. I do NOT like the false pretense, and the arrogance to think that we are that dumb not to know the difference. This kind of false labelling causes me to distrust what is actually in these sandwiches that they label as vegan, etc etc., as well as any of their pricier items. Others in my firm agree, but the price is right for us (free) so no one wants to look at this gift horse; but frankly, knowing in advance who is providing our "free lunch", I will plan on a slice of great pizza. During the planning process we had a number of variables to consider, including what furniture our venue would provide and what rentals we would require, what vegetarian options could be provided, and most importantly, as our reception was at the synagogue, how to keep the menu within kosher/kosher-style guidelines. Rachel was very helpful in designing a menu of fish and dairy options, as well as enough variety to satisfy our guests. We had also run into an issue in that the synagogue required all disposables be compostable, and Rachel helped us solve that problem as well. There were various discussions about how we could save money and we were never made to feel awkward about asking these questions. The staff that served our event were friendly and efficient, and the captain, Jonathan, had a great sense of humor that made the service feel very warm and hospitable for all our guests.

I saw her twice a week and witnessed (and smelled, and tasted!) everything she created in that time, so I can attest to her awesomeness. Gillian's cooking enabled my boss to have stress-free dinner parties for friends multiple times a week, an activity she greatly loved. Our boss also had Gillian cook and freeze meals so there was always healthy food in the fridge for her or family, and she was able to do catering for parties. Gillian is incredibly adaptable. She's able to make such delicious meals that are so healthy, and can accommodate any kind of special needs. I watched her create dishes for vegans, vegetarians, pescetarians, low-acid, kosher, gluten free, dairy-free, nut-free, you name it, Gillian can do it. People raved about her tofu. Tofu! She's also able to make two options so everyone has something they can eat. She even made me a gluten free chocolate birthday cake with quinoa that was so good I froze the leftovers so I can have a piece anytime I want. And everything is gorgeously plated, and the kitchen left pristine. For three years I have enjoyed working in a place filled with delicious smells of whatever Gillian is cooking up that day. I have also really enjoyed knowing her, as she is a delightful, warm, and fun person to be around. Dish understood our "vision" of the night from the start - we wanted a relaxed and fun evening, with all of our favorite people and things. They made our favorite foods as the mains (tacos and pasta), with delicious and beautiful hors d'oeuvres, and sooo many incredible sides (the adorable cups of Caesar salad were a huge hit!). We also had a few gluten-free, dairy-free, and nut-free guests, and Dish had no problem either adapting or adding options to the dishes to ensure that there would be enough to eat for all the dietary preferences we threw at them! Beyond the delicious food, the entire experience working with Dish was full of incredible surprises that show just how thoughtful, prepared, and seriously GREAT AT THIS they are. From the moment we walked into the tasting (January 2024) and they had set up the Lobster and Rose cart as an extra surprise, until the very end of the event when they presented us with a tote bag full of thoughtfully and carefully packed containers with some of almost every single dish. They knew, even before we did, that leftovers are one of the best ways to relive the magic! Julianna was truly a godsend every step of the way - menu choices; floor planning; advice on everything - rentals, furniture, DJ; brainstorming ways to make our poutine dreams come true; never forgetting a single detail mentioned in any interaction; and so, so much more.
