I've been going to Nico's Barber Shop for over four years now, and I couldn't be happier with the service. Every visit is always an amazing experience, you're always greeted happily and everyone there is always so helpful and welcoming. I've always been cut by Paige exclusively, but I've seen the others work first hand through the years and it's top notch. My barber, Paige is a phenomenal and delivers perfect results every time. Ok I made sure to have two visits under my belt before I wrote a glowing review for Nico's and more importantly ARTHUR. Arthur is somewhere between old school and new school and where he is... is perfection. Like an old school barber, he still takes his time and perfects the look you want and he uses the new school styles and tools to get you there. To be honest it's rare to find someone who cares so much about the job they do. My beard has never looked better and it's all thanks to Arthur and Nico's barbershop. I will add this... This barbershop is amazing, the style and care and concern for their clients. I haven't had the pleasure of having anyone else cut my beard, but watching everyone go about their business while I waited for Arthur proved they only hire talented caring barbers. Went in today and got my haircut done by this guy Chris. Real nice guy, did EXACTLY what I asked for - and did it quick. I came in here on my lunch break and this guy was polite, worked well, and had great conversation. I was bummed I couldn't get in last Thursday when I walked in but was happy to come back after my trip since he was cool about everything. Definitely planning on coming back. Honestly couldn't bring myself to tell the guy cutting my hair today but he completely messed up my hair , no scissors skills .. he buzzed the top instead, No fade skill / blend No Scissor over comb. Disappointed, I will def wear my hat for the concert this weekend !! This is a 10$ haircut at best , why they charge 30 is beyond me. So I've now been here 3 times. my barbers were fantastic. True attention to detail. Did not feel like other places where they rush you in to rush you out for the next person. New to the neighborhood and saw the spot thought I would try it out, so I walked in and they explained that they were booked at the moment , which is understandable in this area for a good barber. They advised me to come back at 4 or 430 which I did, just to be turned away again. No one asked for my name or if I wanted an appointment, they simply said they were booked and looked at me like "have a nice day, you can go now" Called today and still no availability so I guess it's just not meant to be. read more

Honestly for a $40 kids cut, I just wish it looked a little better. It seems different every time you get a cut, sadly this will be our last time. It is not blended whatsoever and I will probably need to go get it fixed somewhere. read more

I love the appointment set up there's little to no wait if you have an appointment which is the exact opposite of California barbers where even with an appointment you're waiting an hour or more. I started coming to Nico's about 2 years ago when I moved out here and I got really lucky on my first spot and my first barber that I got. Haircuts can be anxiety ridden and uncomfortable and I've never fully gotten comfortable with a barber before. Then here is Arthur! He's great, his conversations are great, his haircuts are great. It's always a pleasure seeing him and getting my haircut and all of the girls up front are usually really nice too. Good energy, good people, good place. Great Barber shop, nice, spacious and clean! Seriously ignore the 1star reviews, they basically got mad that the shop was busy, like what???? If you've ever been to a legit barbershop you know the wait is worth it if they end up busy like that (busy means GOOD). Nico's is QUALITY. If you want a 5 minute haircut go to great clips or sports clips around the corner. Anyways, I walked in and was greeted immediately. I didn't have an appointment and he explained to me how they work so next time I could do it if I wanted. So then they just put me with the very next person who could take me, and it only took 10 minutes. I got Terry! He is the guy with the killer beard and he got me the best skin fade I have ever had and I think I've been to every barbershop in Mesa, literally. At the beginning, I told him i wanted a mid skin fade on the sides and back but later he would ask more thorough questions on specific things which helped get me the perfect cut. I will be going to him from now on and 100% recommend him to anyone who ends up going here. 5 stars to the staff and environment! Quality barbers!!! read more

It's clean and Covid conscious. The people are great and my Barber/stylist Arthur is amazing. I haven't been to the others but after showing up early and watching customers leave, they have to be on par because I haven't seen a bad haircut walk out that door. I had my first cut with Jen yesterday and I'm thoroughly impressed! Having moved from Vegas where I saw the same stylist for years, I was nervous not knowing how to articulate what I want. She's all about communication and making sure that she understands the look you're going for. I don't think I can write enough about how amazing Ragiv is here. He makes my 13 year old so happy about how his hair looks. The shop is absolutely beautiful and spotless. The staff is top notch. Took my 16 year old brother here to get a trim and style, the shop is amazing and very cool. They have a pinball table and a packman/ multi game table. My 3 year old was entertained! They have comfortable seating and cool music. My brother who was nervous left very happy! The cut was great and he felt pampered. Absolutely love the new space! I have been a fan of Nico's for over a year and I absolutely love this new location. It feels very spacious and well lit. As soon as you walk in you are greeted with joy and enthusiasm. Everyone there made sure I was taken care of. For me, finding a good barber has been like finding a good mechanic: almost impossible. I've cut my hair and my sons hair for the past seven years. He wanted a cut above my grade so we tried these folks. These folks are top notch. I didn't feel like we were being rushed along resulting in a crappy cut. Dylan took the time to make it perfect. My usual barber at another shop wasn't in, and I wanted to get a haircut before going out of town from a place with good reviews. I always am very hesitant to let someone new touch my hair. I asked for a high skin fade, hoping to get a good haircut that I would feel confident with. However, the barber that cut my hair didn't seem to have an appropriate level of mastery with how to do a skin fade. The fade itself is fair, but not high by any means, as was requested. There's plenty of hair below the fade instead of the cut fully approaching the "skin" part of the fade. The line up on my forehead is not as crisp as it could be. It felt like the barber maybe was lazy, because I had to point out a patch of my hair that was a little thicker than the rest and ask for the barber to go over it a little more with the clippers rather than leaving it uneven. I'd give this haircut a 3/5. The shop itself was nice and all, but I likely would not allow that specific barber to cut my hair in the future. read more

Nico's is the best barber shop in Arizona. Period. My favorite stylist is Jen, but even when Jen isn't available or she's booked out and I need to squeeze a cut in, every barber I've had is amazing--including when they cut my 2 boys' hair. I could take my kids to Sports clips and maybe save a couple bucks on their haircut, but i take both my boys to Nico's because it's worth it.
