Below is a long review, but it doesn't even come close to describing Nicole and her photography services ... Nicole Friedler captured the sense of spirit, sense of humor, sense of style and beauty of our wedding over Memorial Day Weekend 2007! Just as her website states! We couldn't have been more pleased and happy with Nicole's work during the entire wedding process. When we met her for the first time, we knew she was the one! We interviewed photographers in and around NYC as well as on the Vineyard, and she stood out. Her personality is so warm and funny and you feel like you've known her for years. She made us feel so comfortable that first day of meeting her and we knew she would continue that rapport on our wedding day, which is a huge help in the midst of the hustle and bustle of the day. She helped us to relax and have fun! On another note, she is accomodating to your schedule and lifestyle ... an added bonus! She travels to NYC occasionally, so we got to meet her at our home instead of traveling to the Vineyard everytime. Best of both worlds! During our wedding, my husband and I were overwhelmed with family and friends commenting on "our photographer." They raved about her! They couldn't get over how she mingled, took lots of pictures, and knew a majority of the peoples names ahead of time or met them for the first time at the wedding and saw them again and knew who they were. Again ... she made them feel comfortable = good photos! Another skill Nicole possesses is making family situations more easy to manage. She helped and aided in easing the tension between parents who were separated. A talent all of its own! As mentioned we were debating between bringing a photographer from NYC or using someone on the Vineyard. We are so glad we used Nicole, as she knows the lay of the land, the sunlight and how the weather works there. She decided on the day of that one beach was better than the other for pictures because of the lighting ... which is exactly what you want in a photographer. That alone tells you there is talent there. Once again, even though she is on the Vineyard, she is accessible in and around NYC. Best of the both worlds. Nicole also goes above and beyond! We had a family bridge jump the day before the wedding and she showed up to capture the moment. It was so nice and she didn't have to do that. And we have quality photos of that event too! On top of everything, our pictures turned out beautiful and totally captured the big day. Her photos are so great that it is very hard narrowing down a select few for the wedding album! And the quality of prints ... from the ones people purchased through her online proofing system to the ones my husband and I purchased were all excellent. People are always in awe of them! We couldn't have been more pleased with Nicole and loved her and her work so much that we remain to keep in touch to this day! She is like family and have already used her for a friend's family portrait. We also look forward to seeing her this summer, so she can do a family portrait for the new arrival of our first baby! Nicole Friedler is an absolute gem and I would have flown her around the world to capture our wedding day ... oh, wait I practically did!!! I first met Nicole in May of 2000 when I hired her take my portrait while vacationing on the Vineyard. Not only does Nicole have an amazing gift for capturing people, backgrounds, colors and emotion but she has a wonderful zest for life and is fun and easy to work with. When I got engaged in 2008, I immediately called Nicole from Columbus, Ohio and my fiance and I began making travel plans to get her from Martha's Vineyard to the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana for our wedding. There was absolutely no one else who I trusted more to capture how Jim and I looked and more importantly, how we felt on our wedding day. Nicole knows how to make everyone feel special, and the quality of her work is excellent. In addition to all of the must have shots, she took a photojournalistic approach to the day and our pictures were more than we could ever have imagined. Even with a large wedding, she was able to include so many small details and private, magical moments with friends and family. After our wedding, Nicole surprised us and was fast to put together 100 of our proofs in an online slideshow set to music as our friends and family were eagerly waiting to see our wedding pictures. We were able to view all of our proofs within a few weeks and ordering our photos was quickly and easily accomplished online. While it took a little longer to put together our album, I appreciated her taking the time to get it just right and give us exactely what we wanted. Our wedding day in October 2010 was the best day of our life and somehow Nicole's pictures made the day seem even better than it was. The day before the wedding, the forecast was for downpours and thunder and lightning throughout the wedding and reception. Nicole had previously shared with us her secret--the "Friedler Factor," which repelled bad weather during her wedding shoots. We didn't believe her until my wife walked down the aisle. The torrential downpours ceased and the clouds began to part our just in time for our vows. Apparently Nicole's powers are stronger than an Atlantic storm. Immediately after the wedding, Nicole whisked us away to the Menemsha beach and dock where she took magical pictures, making spectacular use of the departing clouds. She was so efficient that we even made it back in time for our cocktail hour. In addition to her photographic skill, Nicole was a lovely presence at our rehearsal dinner wedding. She was professional, funny, and made our family and friends feel comfortable by learning nearly all 125 of their names. Our photographs were available online very quickly after the wedding. The pictures brought tears and laughter to us and our family and friends, who were struck by her honest, beautiful, and complete photographic portrayal that managed to capture the joy of the day. read more

Nicole photographed our wedding in August of 2009 and we could not be happier. She captured the day and the little moments so perfectly. I have what I like to refer to as a "modern family", this ultimately means my parents love to get married alot! So it was a task to keep all the names straight and ensure that everyone made it into the photos. Nicole accomplished this and it meant so much to me to have all their faces represented in my album. Working with Nicole was a pleasure. Planning a wedding is a complicated process where you find yourself hiring vendor after vendor with your fingers crossed the whole time, hoping they will actually do what they say they will. Nicole is fabulous! We wanted to work with Nicole because of the depth of feeling evident in her website photography. We hoped she would be able to replicate the same emotion in our photos - and she did, amazingly well! We have the most wonderful photos - everyone who has seen them wonders how we could possibly choose between them for our album pictures! Nicole Friedler has been our "family" photographer from the day it began on our wedding day, June 22nd, 2002. I booked her over a year in advance based on the beauty of the work showcased on her website and several phone calls. Having worked with many professional photographers as a creative director in NYC, I knew what I wanted and was very picky about who we hired. Nicole more than exceeded my expectations - not only did she capture the beautiful moments and emotions of the day, she blew me away by mastering ALL the names of our key family members, was able to capture some great shots of my brother-in-law (notorious curmudgeon) and manage my sarcastic step-father, which isn't an easy task. Wow, our experience with Nicole was absolutely amazing!!! We have hundreds of photos from our wedding - all of which we love! Our hope was that the photographer we chose would capture the love and happiness we felt on our wedding day as well as the joy our family and friends felt for us. We have had such amazing experiences with Nicole that we just booked our fourth shoot with her for this coming August. Nicole has been taking our family photos each year during our summer vacation on Martha's Vineyard. We love her and, more importantly, our kids, 8, 6 and 2 love her! I have a phobia about having my picture taken. I can never seem to settle my face to project the kind of person I think I really am. Consequently, most publicity pictures of me are kind of frozen,stiff and awkward. I would make a horrible model! I met Nicole and mentioned how much I hated getting my picture taken but needed a natural looking publicity shot. She said she could do it and not only would it be painless but I might find out I actually liked the process. She was so right. We went to my favorite beach with my dogs,took a walk and had a chat. As I was playing around with my pups she took a series of shots that turned out among the best that have ever been taken of me. And I think I actually look like the person I think I am inside! I first met Nicole when she did a shoot for my new business. Her style, competence and ease helped make the day fun and efficient! Many of her images were used in our image book and on future collateral we produced. That day, I swore I would always use her as my photographer on the Vineyard. I think Nicole is the best there is. If you want a photographer for a formal event like a wedding or an informal gathering, you can't do better ANYWHERE. Her charm and sense of humor put people at ease. She is great with kids. She is a class act, professional and fair in her business dealings. (Don't try to pull any fast ones on her!)
