Thankfully Brey was available and extremely helpful and assisted me through the whole booking process, it felt like I was working with a dear friend the whole time. I've never booked a professional photographer for an event before so I was bit nervous about the whole thing but she made me feel so comfortable and taken care of in the weeks prior and on the day. She arrived to the city hall location early and was ready to take photos right away, she caught great images of our small group of guests arriving, small moments here and there and wonderful portrait shots of both me, my husband and the whole group together at the ceremony, later at a local park and then at our small reception dinner. She didn't mind driving around the the city a bit to our 3 different locations and kept a positive and friendly attitude the whole time. The images she took of us as a couple are just amazing. She was always laughing even while lugging around her heavy equipment on our 90+ degree wedding day. She really helped us feel comfortable in front of the camera. Second, she is so talented. There was not one picture in the hundreds of wedding pictures taken that I did not like. Not one! And that says a lot coming from me because I'm as OCD as it gets. The way she captures natural light in her pictures is unreal. Third, she is so flexible. She was willing to work with us on everything. Our budget was tight so she allowed us to pick and choose items we wanted to create a package we could afford. And I can't even remember how many times I changed my mind about the layout of the final album, but she was so patient through it all. Finally, I loved that she wanted to know so much about our day beforehand. I think she knew more than my own mom did which was great because she was able to be at the right spot at the right time for every moment of our big day. She did not miss a beat! Our first session together was my maternity shoot, which lead to our family shoots. She was so patient with our young daughter from our newborn session to now. (Our daughter is six.) The quality, lighting, and guidance in positioning in every session is worth the investment ten fold. She's quite talented in catching you in a "moment". I've been extremely happy with all the time she takes in making sure the final product is perfect. I have to admit that I've cheated on her a couple times for different reasons, like hiring a photographer on vacation in Hawaii and not being able to get to the Sacramento area - I live in Oakland. When I hired someone where I live the prices where astronomical and nowhere near as good as Meghan's quality. I've regretted ever straying from her every.single.time. Ugh. I've learned my lesson the (very) hard way. I'd highly recommend Meghan and tell people from the Bay Area that she is worth an hour and a half drive for a session. If you live in the Sac/Rocklin area - you are SO lucky.
