Nigel's Good Food is tucked back in a small apartment complex off of Foster Creek Road in Hanahan SC. It is a small no thrills restaurant that provides indoor and outdoor seating. I received wonderful service and was seated Quickly. Nigel's offer southern comfort foods at its best. The Fried chicken was on point. They offer white meat or a dark meat option. The cornbread is sweet and moist large enough to feed 2 people. The food came out hot and fresh. I was not a fan of the mash potatoes and gravy. The potatoes were kind of dry and the gravy was salty for my taste. Their plate offers 1 Meat choice with 3 sides. The price point is good for the amount of food you are served. I would recommend you try the establishment.

Dropped by and tried another dish. I had the ravioli and it was interesting. The appearance itself was not very attractive but the taste was great. I did need a piece of bread to finish it off because I like to dip my bread into sauce. There weren't too many people around but the service was quite good.

This place was great! Food took a bit to come out but that was probably due to being cooked to order because everything was hot when it came out. All tasted delicious! The cornbread was huge! A bit dry but tasted good. Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes were great. Wish i would have gotten the collards to try. Next time! Country fried steak was fork tender and had excellent flavor. Will be back!

    Grits!

Great new family restaurant in town. Wonderful food cooked to perfection. Indoor & outdoor seating. Nice bar. Excellent staff. HURRY DOWN & beat the crowd. I've been to his restaurant off Cosgrove oops (MY MISTAKE ACTUALLY OFF ASHLEY PHOSPHATE RD ) & can't wait to go to his BBQ place. We had some of his BBQ. Delicious & collard greens to die for thank you for sharing BROOKIE! I will be back for another visit! Thanks Scotty

I was very disappointed in my lunch. I ordered a burger, but requested no grilled onions as it was listed on the menu. No problem- get my burger and it was very well done when I ordered medium and it tasted very much like onions. I even saw some in my burger. Yes, in. I didn't continue eating and asked if there were onions IN it to which they advised me that there were onions mixed in with the chuck. Had I known this I wouldn't have ordered it. I'm not alright, I just really don't like them- but what if I was! I said no onions... So I feel like it should have been told to be about onions being in the burger itself. The fries were solid. I asked for them to be well done, to which they weren't, but they were pretty good. Great flavor. The staff consisted of two people checking tables and it was very slow to get any service. I'm not sure if I'll be back to try it again since it left a bad taste in my mouth (both literally and figuratively).

Food is great! Not much to look on the inside, service is great. Not too busy. Get the wings and the pork chops.

Low Country Ravioli - looks nasty, but very flavorful.

Meh, it is okay. Not sure if I would go again. Zero draft beer choices. Bottle or can beer choices none existent. Bummer. Soup of the Day - "Sorry, we do not have soup, it has been to hot". Huh, um okay? I went with the suggestion of our server - Low Country Ravioli. The flavor was to die for. The whiskey cream sauce with the corn, black eyed peas was awesome, the flavor just works. The ravioli are large, with a nice amount of cheese stuffing..... My only gripe - please add more chicken. The grilled chicken is diced into very small shredded chicken, as in, I had to search for the chicken. My wife got the Whiting. The fish was served with some sort of dill/butter topping. Way to salty, the flavor was off. This piece of fish was way to fishy, just not good. I tried it and was not impressed. The mac-n-cheese was decent.

The food was amazing. I went for the Yelp event to celebrate the new location. I had the shrimp and grits w/ sausage that was so delicious and very tasty. I also had the chicken and waffles. I don't know what it was about those waffles but they were DELICIOUS. I will definitely be visiting one of the locations for them again.

Made my first visit to the new Hanahan Nigel's location recently with some girlfriends for lunch. We all got different orders and oohed and aahed over each others' meals. I went with the Lowcountry salad ($12.95) with grilled chicken (+$8) on top, and it was enough food to last me for 3 lunches! It was the perfect choice for lunch and I look forward to my next visit.

Everyone is full & quite satisfied after this meal.

Nigels is relatively new in Hanahan. Hadn't heard much but the little bit I had heard was very positive. My father & his wife were in town for a few days and wanted to have dinner. Since none in my family had been I decided to give it a try. The establishment is small but cozy comfortable. There were 5 of us but only 4 eating. We looked over the menu and placed our orders. Service was quick, portions were generous and the food was delicious. True southern confort food. Everyone left full with plenty of leftovers. The prices were quite reasonable when considering portions and the quality of food. I cannot recommend this place enough. We will be frequent diners.

First time visiting this location. Came for a grand opening / Yelp event. I've been to the other 2. Expected nothing short of great food and that's what I got! Red rice (one of my favorite dishes btw) was really good! chicken drummettes were fried and seasoned to perfection! Also enjoyed the okra & seafood rice. the staff were very friendly and hospitable!! I appreciate that when dining anywhere! Constantly checking in on us to make sure we were good and offering to take our trash away. bar drinks were really good as well. inside wasnt that big but none of the locations are which is fine because it gives that family dining feel; as if you are home. this location also has outside seating areas which is always a plus!

Southern Cooking Done RIGHT at Gail's Soul Food -- Goose Creek, SC…read more New guy in town looking for some real, signature Southern cooking. I needed a break from all that Texas BBQ and wanted some true soul food -- the kind that feels like it came straight from someone's grandmother's kitchen. I started with Gail's Soul Food, and let me tell you... I have zero regrets. Every bite was worth it. I showed up around 4:45 PM, just 15 minutes before closing. As soon as I walked in, the lady at the counter hit me with: "We ain't frying nothing 10 minutes before we close." No problem at all, ma'am -- that line alone told me I was in the right place. I simply asked, "Alright then... what can I order?" I went with the smothered pork chops with rice and gravy, collard greens, green beans, and cabbage. BAM! Everything -- and I mean everything -- was excellent. The pork chops were tender, well-seasoned, with a nice touch of garlic and smothered perfectly in gravy. The collards were real collards, not canned (unlike too many places in Texas), and seasoned just right. The cabbage was flavorful, and the green beans were on point too. I also order a turkey wing smothered in gravy and it was also very tasty. The restaurant itself was clean, well-decorated, and welcoming. Even though they were about to close, the staff remained friendly, patient, and committed to giving me great service. That says a lot about their pride and professionalism. I truly enjoyed the food, the atmosphere, and the customer service. I'll definitely be back to try a few more menu items before I head back to Texas. If you're anywhere near Goose Creek and want real Southern comfort food done right, Gail's Soul Food is a must-visit.

They have a few unique items like their sweet tea which is called swamp water and is infused with lemon, lime and orange. It didnt really seem like it was infused. More like they just poured in various concentrated fruit juices. Too bad our waitress wasn't as informative as the waiter serving the table behind us. She failed to indicate that they have off the menu items, and specials on Tuesday and Wednesday nights. It was kind of hard to choose since I had been eating seafood all week leading up to this visit and also trying to avoid fried foods this year. I ended up choosing the mussels and bowl of gumbo, along with a sweet tea. The tea tasted fairly similar to a lipton sweet tea from the soda fountain and not really something homemade and infused with fresh juices. Mussels - these were really good. Even if half of the mussels fell out into the broth during preparation. Gumbo - this was kind of questionable. My colleague also saw the redish hue of the liquid and said he was glad he didn't order it. It was filled with a lot of seafood, but the liquid was just too creamy. My colleague also commented on the etouffee that was being brought out to other nearby tables and supposedly it looked too dry. I also ordered a to go dessert. The bread pudding. It ended up being pretty decent though.
