When my husband and I were planning our wedding, my sister had highly suggested Nick as she remembered him being a huge hit at a previous wedding she had attended, and we agreed because he was also rememberable to us from a completely different wedding. But he also offered the best advice - how to walk down the aisle without looking awkward, how to read from my vow book and still look elegant for pictures, basically tips on how to keep myself photo ready during the ceremony for the candid pictures. It helped calm me down, and I don't know if I would have been able to calm down by myself without this talk. Nick contacted us five months before our wedding to congratulate us and set up a meeting time to plan the next few months. He was very professional and gave us a packet to fill out beforehand. When we met, Nick gave a bunch of insight and recommendations, like what genres or moods of music to pick for every song we chose for our evening. Nick is an incredible DJ and MC. I am writing this review from the standpoint of a Wedding Coordinator and highly recommend Night and Day DJs to any client. He was my client's DJ at Hangar 21 in Fullerton, CA. This venue is next to a smaller airport and he was already ahead of the game with his set up given his experience here with past events AND with his knowledge of the frequencies that can often affect sound system and microphones on their wireless settings. His set up was outside and the sound carried amazingly. Every formality was a hit, speeches were clear, the dance floor was always packed, and not once did sound or equipment falter. Nick was always on top of his communication too. Getting his vendor insurance in on time for the venue, checking in with me on the timeline to review if there were any updates or changes and was on top of his set up with his assistant. Things that stood out to me as a planner that made the world a difference on an event day. - Nick was on time, ready to go and super respectful and easy to work with from start to finish - Nick made sure to check in with the clients and ensure that he got all the phonetics he needed to get the names correct (the little things go a long way!) - Nick knows how to MIX and read the room. I cannot emphasize how much the right entertainment makes or breaks an event and his set was amazing. Transitions between songs were smooth so when I say, the dance floor was never empty on the clients wedding night - I mean it! - His attire and fashion sense is immaculate. (the little things go a long way!) Referring back to the venue - the clients opted for a helicopter grand entrance which meant timing was everything. He hyped up the crowd and really engaged and got people excited before the grand entrance of the wedding party. Following the choreographed wedding entrance from the bridesmaids and groomsmen - the transition to getting guests ready for the landing and introducing the clients was spot on. Typically these entrances are tricky ESPECIALLY since the landing time doesn't change. If we say 6:55pm landing, they are landing at 6:55pm - he made it seamless and got the music going on the dot. Even the venue managers at Hangar 21 spoke highly of him!! As a planner, having a DJ who is able to adapt throughout the night and absolutely shine in their element of entertainment is a win. Not once was there ever a complaint when I'd decide the change up the order of formalities in the evening. He was just ready to get the party started and support my flow of events and for that I am so grateful. So recap - if you're looking for a DJ and MC in one person, look no further.
