I usually go to the Grove Nike as it has a lot more selection but I came to Santa Monica after looking for a soccer jersey for a week and both locations being sold out. I was immediately helped by MARILYN as soon as I walked in. Marilyn was very helpful and answered all of my many, many questions with a smile and not even a hint of annoyance. The second floor was full of Men's stuff and the Nike By You section. The location was well designed and the walls looked really dope. The Nike By You worker seemed like she was overworked but still answered all my questions. There is street parking which will probably be impossible to find. Luckily, there is a parking structure right next to it (Lot 7). It used to be free but it is now $1 for 90 minutes (no validation). Very fair considering the Grove charges $5 flat for 1 hour and up to 4 hours if you can somehow get validation. Lucky to have 2 Nike locations within 15 miles of where I am! read more

Every time i come in it's a bad experience. There's 0 effort in creating a positive store environment. Items are top price but not top quality. I had stopped into the Nike Santa Monica a few weeks ago. I stopped in because I had seen online that they had a counter where you could customize items. The team members here are very accommodating and thoughtful. It's cool to see them they work as a team and when I was able to find out what decals and badges I wanted on my items was a fun experience to be able to do that. I was indecisive, however Brianna was there to be able to walk me through the process and let me know what was available and what my options are. It was cool to design and pick out a few one of a kind items and make it my own. It is a fun process to do and thank you so much for the team there. It was kind of time consuming so they were extremely patient with me I parked in the parking structure and it was really convenient because the Nike is right outside the exit of the parking structure itself. read more

There is something seriously wrong with this Nike store. It's been twice now that we've returned an item, and asked for the money to be put on a gift card, only to try and use it at a later date for there to be no money on the card. Each time we've called customer service and they tell us that there is no record of that gift card being issued at a store, and there's no money on it. Even with a receipt, they tell us there's nothing they can do, either at the store or by calling customer service. This Nike store location is a whole VIBE with all the swaggy Nike sets and shoes. I like how they have a mix of athleisure and street wear fashion that can be both functional and stylish. I experienced great customer service when I was hear and some employees helped me to find the right sizes for what I needed (even checking in the back stock for the specific ones). The place was clean and organized. The two downfalls I felt were - 1) I feel like in such a massive store they should have a bit more product (women's section is a bit lacking) and 2) there's a massive staircase to get up to the 2nd floor and I'm not sure if they have a public elevator or accessible option for wheelchair users or anyone needing assistance to get up the stairs. The entire men's line is upstairs so I would call to confirm if you will need assistance and want to check-in first. I'm a Nike gal through and through and think they (for the most part) create cute vibey products, that are high quality and last a long time - for the most part logically priced. Santa Monica Place was very close to where we were staying so Kiley and I headed off to do some shopping after we decided against walking down the Santa Monica Pier. It was too crowded because it was a Saturday. This was a beautiful shopping area and had a lot of my favorite stores. Living in Reno has made my pocketbook a happy and full one! I have wanted these shoes for years when we stopped at the store. Kiley said, "Mom I doubt they will have those in your size" I didn't want to buy them online because it had been 10 years since I purchased a pair of Nike so I want sure if it had changed. I've gained 30 pounds and sadly my feet did get bigger. Anyway the store was packed. We were lucky to get a darling salesgirl to helps us and yes I'm still a size 8. This is the first time I'd even bought high top. The great news is that wearing a 1" inch lift is much better and more comfortable in a high top or at least these do. My right leg is 1" shorter than my left Old lady problems:) I've wanted these from afar for a very long time but kept thinking all those negative thoughts; "I'm too old for these, they are for boys, they're not my style" Not a chance I'm getting them! I've been there a handful of times recently, and each time I do go in the workers are always so miserable. There was one older gentleman who was very nice, other than that they couldn't give 2 cares about you in store, and worry about their conversations amongst coworkers than actually helping you out. For an out of town visitor this store hit the mark for what I would expect of a Nike store. The store itself is laid out nicely and is easy to figure out where you need to go to find your stuff. Women's stuff is on the first floor and men's/children's are on the second floor. The store is probably a little larger than most of the the Nike stores (especially outlets). Which allows them to spread stuff out a little and not have everything so crowded - which is kind of nice. The fitting rooms were open (June 2021) which is nice because it's kind of hit or miss as to what places are doing. The staff that checked us out were friendly and helpful - in fact helping my wife to decide between colors on a hoodie she liked. Prices are in line with what you would pay online at Nike, but the bonus is they have some regional items that you will probably not find (or find to easily) at Nike.com. If we were in the area again we'd shop here in the future. read more

Worst customer service! I worked at foot locker for years so I'm pretty on top of what customer service and duties are when working at a retail store. I asked for socks and the sales woman/employee told me they were sold out. Understandable, but give me options rather than standing in front of all the socks and talking to your coworker about the weekend you just had. Then, I want a pair of shoes, no one asked if they can help me instead I walked Over to someone who was also having a long talk About their weekend to another co worker, when I asked for the pair of shoes he said ok, and that's that. REALLY bad customer service. We went there to look for children shoes and asked for help for our kids. We didn't know what shoe size they were. The employee in kids shoes told us grab the measure thing under the bench and measure yourself! Wow! I will start with the more positive. Based on my last visit, that would be 5 stars but I have been here so many times and left disappointed. Let's start with the sales associate Monica. So I walked in with several things to return and needed a price adjustment. She was super patient listened and handled my returns with ease. So friendly and helpful. Now the reason that the three stars is there. They redid the store and it looks nice. I think the first floor flows far nicer than the second. Now every time I come in here NONE of the sales associates say hello until I get to the register for purchase. Which I think is weird with the amount of money people spend in this store. Also weird because there are so many employees in the store just walking around. I had a return one time and the male associate upstairs messed it ALL the way up. He returned the wrong size (which I am not even sure how he did that) and didn't have me do anything to put the money back on the card. So I knew something was up. Then tried to take my shoes that I brought in without ordering the new ones or giving me a refund. He kept trying to tell me it is fine but the sizes were wrong and I didn't want issues later. When I pointed out the mistake because everything is on the app and the receipt showed it he seemed beyond annoyed. Sir this is YOUR MISTAKE. But had he slowed down and listened and maybe not done ten things at once it would have been done right. Then worse some other employee says to me don't worry he is the best and I am like "sir please dont" no one asked for your opinion especially when this man already got it wrong and cant fix/gave the vibe he was too busy to fix it. Finally someone came and fixed the problem but it was the interaction to me, it was unprofessional and inattentive. Selection is large. They mostly have my sizes. I am neutral on this. The store is very nice, it's two stories with men's on the top and women's on the bottom. You see the beautiful building when you first walk in. My favorite part about the store is the area where you can get custom nike hoodies and pants. They have all different color hoodies and they are very lightweight. I chose to get a white hoodie and made an appointment for 5. The appointment didn't start till around 5:30 and it took a very long time. However Monte was amazing and is very good at his job which made my experience far more enjoyable which made me feel more comfortable with my options. I recommend asking the employee's id you need help, they have a very helpful nature. The cost was in total was 92 dollars. 60 for the sweatshirt and 3 dollars per sticker you put on. Then there is a service fee which is about 15-20 dollars. The cost is adequate to the product you get and i think it's worthy of the cost. The best part about the whole store is there is parking within 200 feet. The parking garage is first half hour free and then 4 dollars per hour after that. I think this nike store is amazing and I definitely recommend if you are around the area! read more

I went to Nike to buy one of their new colored sweat jackets. Rachel, who works in the customs department, began to tell me how I could make my jacket one of a kind. She explained how creative I could become with the jacket.The sweat jacket was high quality. The process turned out to be a lot of fun. I ended up buying a custom jacket for the whole family. I am writing this while my annoyance is still fresh since it just happened. I have been here many many times before. And considering one shirt is almost always at least 50 bucks I have spent quite a bit of money over the years. But I am a nike girl what can I say? I walk over to nike already having shorts I want on my mind because I stalked them on line. I walk in grab a few (more like 11) items and walk straight to the fitting room. There standing is a sorry excuse of an employee who right away shouts my way "5 items only". No hi no nothing. Well I actually don't remember them ever even enforcing this rule, or maybe they know I am there a lot and let it slide or MAYBE (and I am leaning towards this one) the girl just wanted to be difficult. Well I hate this 5 items only rule as it is, but rules are rules, but at least make my life easier and switch out my items without me having to dress back up, come out, you get the point. So I tell this girl "can you stick around so I can switch items?" ....she mumbles something and I not feeling like asking what she even said go in. Well I am done with my 5 allowed items, and want 2 out of those 5 items (the shorts I saw online and a little running tee). I open the door just a tad and ask her to switch me out. She is standing RIGHT NEXT TO THE RACK my items are on, and I mind you am butt booty naked in the room. But guess what? She was just on a roll of being the worst employee of the year because she tells me, a customer, a frequent customer at that, "come out and switch it". I LOST it by this point. I straight up told her no, you come and give me my 5 items, I am naked and am not coming out, and you are making it extremely difficult and inconvenient for me. So with an attitude she did what she should have done with pleasure (or at least fake it) in the beginning. By that time I was in no mood to even try on anything so I stood there for a second to chill out and came out. So she is standing there basking in her attitude meanwhile I hang the 5 items (I should have threw it at her honestly). So then I ask her "where are my 2 items I gave you?". So she hands over 3 items to me, and MY SHORTS I made the trip for are gone. So I tell her "I am sorry, I have no idea what these other 2 items are, but where are my shorts I gave you???" Well I guess this employee of the month was so annoyed I asked her to do her damn job she purposely "misplaced" them. I think she knew by this point I was not happy and developing a craving to perhaps tell her manager that she actually left her little post (not like she was doing her job at her post to begin with) and got me another pair. I still bought the shorts and the shirt cause I just needed a new workout outfit but honestly screw a store that lacks simple fitting room etiquette. What is wrong with the people working here? By far the worst customer service experience I've had in years. Not just one associate, but two were rude and unprofessional. I used to shop here all the time. Now, I only drop by a few times a year and the majority of the time it's to just make a return or to look around. I like to purchase some of the limited release items but store management AND corporate just do not have it together. However, if you are a casual shopper, rest assured that all other levels of service are quite good. SERVICE: Management - This SM branch just does not seem to have it together when it comes to customer service at this management level. On multiple visits, management (that big guy who i'm assuming holds a management position) has just not been very pleasant. I understand that some "clientele" are often less than civilized, but that does not give you a reason to respond to questions in such sharp tones and blatant lies. There is just so much improvement that can be made here. There is poor communication. I've witnessed "customers" fighting for position to enter the store and then later lied to about stock selling out when it had actually not. I've been to Nike Vault at the Staples Center several times. They have to deal with even MORE crazy people outside, yet they NEVER seem to have issues. Clearly, it is management issues. Corporate- Nike makes some great products but makes some of the worst decisions when it comes to how it sells them. While management may seem incompetent at this location, Nike itself is making poor decisions on a higher level that puts their employees in these bad positions. Nike Twitter RSVP? The Nike websites' Twitter Link Only releases? Nike came up with these blatantly FLAWED methods to sell and it just keeps digging itself into a deeper hole as it attempts to improve upon an already flawed base. This is an incredible Nike store. The management is very friendly. Ask for JT. He took the time to listen to my story. We talked about how I donated 70 pairs of Nike's to the Salvation Army in Arizona. I specifically care to this store from the manager Lane suggestion in Arizona. There is a lot of dope stuff in here. There's Paul George 2's, Kobe's, and Lebron's. There's also a lot of Air Jordan's as well. While everything is basically full retail it doesn't matter because in Arizona I don't see these type of shoes and clothes. They have the Be True line here as well which is awesome because I am a big supporter of gay rights. There are Nike LA run club shirts as well. I don't know why there are bad reviews for this store because if you take the time to talk to the staff they will help you with what you are looking for. While I had to pay medical bills and couldn't afford anything on this trip I will come back out in July and purchase something next time. Seeing these shoes is awesome. Zero stars if needed. Witnessed something a week ago that made my stomach turn at the Santa Monica store. I'm a huge fan of Nike, but I don't think I'll be shopping Nike for awhile. Last week I witnessed the female manager run out of the store accusing a man of stealing a $12 mini basketball. Saw the family earlier in the store and they seemed like nice people. Either way, this was not professional by any means. I've worked in retail and if you're worried about a $12 ball, then you should consider a new profession. There's a write-off account IF merchandise is stolen or missing or damaged. Anyways, what was worse is that the police were called. Our tax dollars. Because if the actions of this manager. What's so sad is that THE FAMILY DID IN FACT PULL OUT A RECEIPT. Ugh. After watching this poor family be harassed and embarrassed (in public and in front of so many people) and after showing both the manager and the police their receipt, I went back into the store and returned my merchandise.
