Terrible experience at this shiekh location. Was in the area and needed to purchase a couple of pairs of shoes for my kids. While shopping my friend approached me to let me know an associate by the name of Yahaira was taking a picture of me and my friend. Extremely unprofessional and an invasion of privacy. At that point I became visibly upset and vocalized it. when Yahaira noticed she attempted to further provoke the situation by asking if we had been helped with a terrible attitude. I responded no I do not. I thought before leaving the store I should check my items because of the attitude of this associate and the cattiness that happens in these types of situations. Against my better judgment I chose to trust that a pretty reputable shoe store would run an honest business and I could trust my items to be ok. After driving 2 hours home to Covina, I open my son's shoe box to surprise him with his new shoes and discover I was given a display shoe size 3 and another shoe size 1.5. I know this was done purposely. Extremely unprofessional behavior from all associates such as Alyssa who rang me up to notice this and not correct it. I would not recommend coming to this store. I should have taken my business elsewhere. Spent over $300 to receive the wrong items and have my kids disappointed because of an unprofessional and quite frankly unpolished employee. Shame on you Yahaira and shame on the rest of the employees who allow this behavior. This store is lacking any proper management. read more

Rude staff and no changing room, don't waste your time. She told my nephew he was holding woman's clothing. I told her politely there is no need to point out these days the gender of the clothing. She said she didn't see what the problem was. I guess it just would have been nice if the people in the store had a better attitude. Staff began closing the store and kicking out patrons 26 minutes before closing. Didn't even let me check out with the items I had in my hand. Was asked to stop browsing and leave because - "WE'RE CLOSED" the employees said repeatedly. When expressing it was well within business hours, the response was "it takes 30 minutes to close the store". And I couldn't agree more - It probably does...but after the designated closing time. When I asked if I could check out with my items I was told the register had already been closed out... I guess they can't legally close the doors before their posted closing time, as both entrances had employees gate keeping (barricading) to prevent anyone from coming into the store & equally making it awkward & uncomfortable when being forced out, as they didn't move and only left for a very small exit point to which exiting patrons were forced to quite literally rub against them to leave. It's Shiekh...not a nightclub. It's really not that serious...and clearly can't be if shop educate is to forfeit sales from customers ready to pay.. Fortunately, it's a redundant store, so I'll get the same gear at one of the many carbon copy businesses out there. But unfortunately, it's a redundant store in that it's all one in the same owner...Footlocker/Champs/Shoe Palace/Etc. - so they'll still somehow get my business. Not worth the review. One of the associates, Steven Loi, was super welcoming and helpful. I wasn't really looking and was more helping my friend pick something, but Steven was like "you got good taste bro". I love the look at this particular Shiekh store. It's has a very fresh and urban feel to it. Their selection is basically the same as all sneaker stores (footlocker, foot action, shoe palace, etc) but I particularly like the workers and the environment Shiekh has created. I will admit the workers use to seem like they had an attitude but the past year or so they have really pickup and became quite friendly! I've been shopping at Shiekh for years and years, probably since 2004. They have had their ups and downs but what company is perfect?! To me in my opinion, all that matters now is that they have got on track and have dramatically improved. They will continue to keep me as a customer. Took my 6 year old here to buy a pair of Jordan's before school starts. They have a policy where they will only bring you one show at a time, not 1 pair but one shoe. So that means if you want to try on a size they will bring you the left and then take it back and bring out the right. In the days of E commerce , stores are on life support ! I can have amazon bring me 3 styles in multiple sizes and have them at my house by tomorrow. You should be rolling out the red carpet for someone willing to support your physical location. The manager there E.J. has great knowledge on apparel and shoes. He always assists me with my various questions and expertise knowledge on release dates of new shoes. The selections this place carries has been losing it's flare over the last few years. Prices aren't super high but they aren't that low either. Last time I was there I wanted a C&C Sweater that was on the rack but they didn't have my size. When I went to the counter to checkout there was one laying there and it happened to be my size. One of the workers then walks up and takes it from me, saying that it's his. I wasn't really in the mood to argue about it at the time but it's not good service when a worker tells a customer he can't buy something because he wants it instead. The products are put out there for customers, not people working there. Also, what does it say about the store when workers are shopping for themselves while on shift? I probably should have complained at the time and got a discount or even got the sweater I wanted but whatever. Just be aware that they probably don't have your size if you are between a 7.5-9 because they sell out fast. Staff was helpful at first but then tried to hide in the back "looking" for my size forever.
