Well trying to book one for one dog because he needed a haircut, not seeing Logan's name, I was very skeptical about him going to someone else but he needed it like I said. He was booked with Jasmine S, and let's just say she did a HORRIBLE job, to the point my dog was cut by his mouth. I HAVE NEVER EVER EXPERIENCED MY DOGS BEING CUT TO THE POINT 4 WORKERS WERE AROUND HIM BY THE TIME I WAS WALKING INTO THE STORE AND LOOKING INTO THE GLASS OF THE GROOMERS TO PICK HIM UP! The assistant manager brought him out to me and told me what was going on and that the service was free, (okay I guess) but she did a choppy a** job on him. I told the assistant manager my concerns and told me to leave my number for the Salon leader to bring him to be fixed but at this point, I'm scared to ever bring both of them back. -0/10, would not recommend her as a groomer. The groomer, Edith, felt through his fur and said it wasn't bad. I told here there was matting on one ear and he would need to be cut shorter on his ears. She felt it and agreed. I received a call that Cairo was ready for pick up, at that time I was informed that Cairo wouldn't allow the clippers near his face. No worries, they told me that before. When I arrived to pick up, I was greeted by another groomer. All the groomers were grooming dogs, including Edith that groomed Cairo. Normally, she greets me upon pick up. This time she kept grooming and the other groomer stopped grooming the dog she was with. Edith never even looked up. I didn't recognize my dog. I can understand having to cut a dog low, due to matting but I would still expect it to be even. He was botched and his tear stains and fur under his eyes was untouched. When he's gotten a wash the tear stains lighten some. It looked as if she just took the clippers to him, carelessly. I don't normally complain but this was horrible.

The owner has a bit of dry humor and is somewhat of a jokester. In saying that, when I told the guy I needed them bagged separately he was totally against it. However, he bagged them separately and said he would charge me extra for the bag which totaled out to be an extra $.20 (yes, twenty cents lol). I also purchased food and my bill came out to be under $4. I can tell you now that Petsmart and Petco are much more expensive than this local store.

However, I got this dog sweater from this location and thought maybe my dog would wear it once or twice for pics but never again. (I'm not a huge fan of dogs wearing clothes, but I had to admit a noticeable difference with my short-haired dog not shivering during winter months while wearing two separate coats. So I backed down on making fun of dog coats. My two larger, furrier dogs in prior years never needed manmade coats.) But this sweater is turning into a Linus blanket situation. I tried putting on a "Christmas" dog coat that matched her red Xmas collar (I love festive dog collars!!!), but it was white and getting dirty too quickly. I took it off to handwash it and put the Bark Place pink sweater on my dog solely for one walk, and she's been running away ever since when I try to take it off at night. At one point, she slid under one of the bar stools in my dining room, around the corner, ran into my bedroom and into her crate, flopping down sideways. Even if you don't need anything else in Bark Place, take note of the dog clothes. A bunch of my relatives crochet and knit, so I already knew the dog sweater was solid quality but expected it to wear. It still looks brand new, and my dog is glued to it. When I take it off to bathe her or what I *think* is comfier to sleep at night, she growls and leaps for it. I think a pink sweater and a red bow collar clash, but she couldn't care less about me being the fashion police. I'm tickled by how much she likes THIS particular sweater but has never ever been this into any other dog clothes gift (that I usually return) in four straight years. Don't sleep on the dog sweaters, I guess, unless you're my own dog who will turn over sideways so she CAN sleep in hers.

After my dog's passing.... I had alot of food, treats and other care products left over…read more So, I went to this shelter location and dropped off the food/treats there. This facility (62 S Wabash) is an intake location. If have questions about animals they are willing to help. So, if you find a lost animal or you can't simply take care of your pet due to a variety of reasons.... You can simply drop the animal to this location and they will try to reunite the lost animal; network with the various animal organizations and/or contact the veterinarian for it's well being.. The staff are very nice, friendly to me and the animals inside. This location has a unique history dealing with a variety of animals. Since this location looks old from the outside, however it's what goes on in the inside that counts. If I had extra money on the side, I would love to give the building a face lift (rehab) because it really needs it. The animals will be temporarily given shelter, food, water, treats, walks, etc. Until the next step (reuniting with their owners, being transferred to an animal location and/or shelter). It smells a little bit and I don't think the smell will ever go away due to it's long-life-legacy of giving care for the animals.
