I've known Dave Nikolas for the past several years through my Dad and through the M1 Concourse. When it was time for my husband and I to retire, we purchased a 2013 Porsche 987 Boxter convertible. When it was due for its first service, there was no question where I would take it (my dad owns a 991.2 TurboX, a vintage 356 Speedster Tribute and a Panamera, and my sister owns a 911 convertible, all serviced by Nikolas). The folks at Nikolas did a great job bringing it current with all of its components (spark plugs, oil change, tire rotation, various filters). Robin was really great to work with, awesome communications, and the car was ready when promised and for what the estimate said, no surprises. Nikolas has maintained my 2011 535 X-Drive for about 7 years now. The BMW now has 214,000 miles on it. I never would have been able to kept the car this long without the staff at Nikolas motor sports. From the maintenance standpoint BMW dealers are a scam compared to Nikolas. Great job! read more

Just an overall great experience. The shop looks impeccable, so that's a great first impression from the start. The people, Robin in particular, are very approachable and upfront with answers. LEFT MY MOONROOF OPEN AFTER REPAIRS. CAR FULL OF MOLD!!!! I picked up my vehicle on 10/4 and contacted Nikolas Motorsport as soon as I became aware of how extensive the mold damage was and asked to bring the car back. The receptionist Robin told me NOT to bring the car back, and stated they only had one mechanic available. I was told I would receive a response Monday. By 10/8 I called back twice to be regarding the damage and got a horrible call from the owner late Tuesday afternoon. While a full detail would be fair, I was willing to accept his frugal offer of a steam cleaning and ozone treatment performed by Nikolas Motorsport. Unfortunately I was told I had to wait an additional week for them to start the service and I could drop off my car BUT that they would not allow me to use their loaner in the meantime. TERRIBLE service the owner interrogated me and accused me of being untruthful about the damage complained about my payment arrangement for the exorbitant cost of services. Asked why I didn't bring my vehicle back then completely dismissed me when I told him I was told not to bring the vehicle back the same day I picked it up. The owner made statements claiming he was "not buying it" regarding my description of the damage , said the employees did not smell the mold and stated things I said were not true. I was told no one drove my vehicle despite over 30 miles increase on the odometer then I was told one person drove it, then I was told two people drove it and smelled nothing. I don't know if a genuine mistake was made or if my vehicle was neglected because I was wise enough not to agree to a $50/day storage fee in my service contract. I initially took my vehicle to be serviced by Nikolas Motor Sport after receiving a quote from BMW and being unable to find a diesel mechanic near me. Nikolas Motorsport quoted me significantly more than BMW and although my dissatisfaction started there I chose not to speak publicly about it. At this point for the owner to insinuate that I am lying and attempting to get over after paying over $3000 for a heater metering line replacement is unprofessional to say the least. Nickolas Motorsports is a terrible business mainly due to the owner David. Don't ignore all the terrible reviews that are online about this place, the reviews are accurate. David is a liar and thief! He changes the price after quoting work, did not allow his technician to complete the work no my vehicle and then provided the vehicle back with the alignment incomplete. They only adjusted the Toe and NOT the Camber of the 4 wheel alignment I paid for. He quoted me between $250-350 for the job depending on how long it took and then completed only half the work without telling me and said it took longer than expected and would not take the car off the rack until I paid $546.50. The problem is they never actually correctly adjusted the camber so just 2 months later my tires were completely ruined and they refuse to accept that they didn't do the alignment correctly. David also blamed me for changing it after I left even though the alignment sheet from their machine clearly shows that they did not align the car according to the factory specs which is what I asked them to do. After fighting about it for an hour or so they agreed to readjust the toe again but while I was waiting they used a torch on my vehicle and melted one of the tie rods. David wouldn't take responsibility for that either and told me call a tow truck and get my car out of his shop. I was in disbelief that they would not only not perform the service I paid for but also would destroy my vehicle. LONG STORY SHORT DO NOT GO TO NICKOLAS MOTORSPORT - THEY ARE THEIFS AND TERRIBLE PEOPLE IN GENERAL! BTW I took my car to belle tire after getting and they were super helpful and completed the correctly for $225. Go figure Belle Tire can work on a Ferrari better than this supposedly good speed shop. Never go to Nickolas Motorsports and tell your friends not to go to either. read more

Called this shop to get a quote on some work on my e60 m5. Told them i need an oil change and suspension work. And said I have parts already. They informed me they only do work if they supply their own parts. OK. So I asked for a price on an oil change. I was told its $142 with labor. I knew this quote was 100% wrong. I asked him what grade of oil and brand he is using. He said 5w-30 and mumbled some unknown brand. UMMMM EXCUSE ME? The s85 v10 is the most legendary motor BMW has ever built. You can NOT call yourself a european shop and not know this motor takes 10w-60, an oil found in the newer twin turbo BMW motors also. This is beyond a rookie mistake. If you don't know this off the top of your head, you are either incompetent or a flat out liar with no credentials. Neither of which I want touching my vehicle. Imagine if I would have let these incompetent folks put 5w-30 in my v10. It would blow and I would be stuck with a $20-30 thousand dollar bill for a new motor. Judging from other reviews that are "hidden", it seems like this would not be their first time fumbling the ball when it comes to oil. Seriously folks this is a like a mcdonalds worker not knowing what a hamburger is. E60 M5 is an iconic car and any BMW mechanic worth his salt is familiar with the ins and outs of such a special model. The irony is these clowns have an F10 M5 on the pics uploaded. LOL The fact that they don't want to to bring your own parts lets you know they want to rip you off on parts. I'm sure they will argue liability blah blah blah but I owned a shop before and I know how it works. I wouldn't even mind but at least know what the hell you are talking about. Extremely disappointed and I would highly recommend NOT to use this place. You are risking your car due to people who are NOT car enthusiasts and seem to have made up their own credentials. I really hope that F10 M5 and 911 belong to the owner. Dave and Adam were great to work with, after evaluating my 1986 Porsche they in formed me that it did not need some of the repairs that I thought were necessary, saving me a lot of money. They were great to work with and Dave gave me the tour of the shop and a look at his race cars with some great racing history. Good guys, great shop. read more

The service manager Adam is a great guy and the rest of the staff does great work. However, the owner Dave is as incompetent as they come. Dave needs to understand that he's running a business, not robbing a bank. I couldn't believe the way he decided to pull numbers out of his ass and attempt to shake me down by yelling at me repeatedly. I had already agreed upon a payment plan with one of his capable employees and tried explaining this to him but he decided to harass me about it instead. It's because of the way he acted that I got my car out of there as soon as possible and have decided to give my money to a business that knows how to treat their customers and employees. Just recently, in mid November, 2018 I placed my 2009 BMW X5 in service for cranking problems. After a few days I was told by the service manager that from their years of experience, and because there was no fuel pressure reading, they were pretty certain I needed a new fuel pump and wires replaced. (The service manager did state that there may be a seal leak, however, they couldn't locate the leak with certainty, but still made me confident the fuel pump repair was needed to crank the car). However, before I authorized the expense, I clearly stressed to the the svc manager that if he had any doubt this would fix the problem, I would not authorize the $900 plus repair, as at this point I was not willing to invest if the cranking problem couldn't be fixed. I told him I would rather sell or trade the car as is! After the svc mgr made me feel very comfortable that the fuel pump repair fixing the cranking problem I authorized the expense. After Nikolas had the car for a week, I was told I could pick it up. Nikolas Motorsport had it already running in their garage and I drove to work in the morning. After work, I had to crank the car 8 times to finally start it and thereafter the car smelled like gas fumes and was lightly smoking I immediately called the svc manager who told me he was sorry and to call him back if he could help. I asked the service mgr if he could go in half of the tow cost and he stated that the owner said no (unless they found they messed up the car). The svc manager told me to tow it at my cost and they would review their work. I would never use or recommend their service. As in my case, I placed my car in their shop, paid over $900 and the car was in worse condition after picking it up from the shop! Also, I made it very clear that if there was any doubt about the fuel pump repair fixing the cranking problem, no work should have done (just the diagnostic fee). I felt that at the very least they could have paid have the towing or even offered half of their labor costs as a refund however, they did not. In short, I'm not taking the car back to Nikolas, I decided to sell to a dealership. read more

Do not be fooled by the great reviews about this shop. Save your money and go elsewhere. A simple oil change on my Porsche could have cost me thousands in repairs due to this shop. Adam and his techs overfilled my vehicle with over 3 quarts of excess oil. After three trips there they decided it was an oil sensor issue and ordered the part but I decided to call around to compare prices. After talking to many dealers I found Porsche of Ann Arbor which ordered the part but said that they would diagnosis it first. Well, as it turns out Nikolas had no clue on what they were doing because they doused the car in oil and it was throwing off many sensor. They were not a bit concerned about the issue at hand at Nikolas but wanted to make more money from a female that had no clue about car repair. As it turns out Nikolas is more expensive than the actual Ann Arbor dealership and they cannot compare in the Outstanding service by Phil in Ann Arbor. read more
