Few hours later a friendly driver arrived with our delivery with a dump truck and our veggie soil was left on our driveway! What a doozy of a time hubby and I had shoveling all the soil onto our wheel barrow then back and forth from the backyard planter boxes and back again to shoveling from our driveway! Only half of our soil came from here as I chose organic soil from Green acres for our other half of planter boxes which came in 3 cubic bags so was easier to load onto a Dollie from the SUV then rolled to the backyard. Delivered the wrong gravel I selected in the yard. I even showed the cashier the gravel I need. Upon delivery, it was a grey gravel instead f brown color. Only one staff member seemed to have a mask on. One of them came right up to us, no mask on. I didn't feel particularly safe because of that since my close family members are higher risk. No physical distancing. He was friendly, but the service provided was marred by him not at least attempting to follow either one of the basic guidelines. He may have been close due to loud equipment. Though, even just putting a bandana over his mouth/nose while talking to us would have made us feel a bit more comfortable. The supply of rocks is good. Though, some of them are a little low. I wouldn't be surprised if lots of people are also working on projects outside during this situation. So, that would explain some of the lower supply. Only one or two rows of flatter rocks seems to be low. The rest were pretty well supplied. The pricing seems pretty reasonable (as far as I know). I am marking it two stars because 3 stars says A-Ok. I don't feel that is the case. The employees should at least have a reasonable face covering when dealing with customers. If only to give those who are trying to not catch the virus a certain amount of comfort. They can blithely not keep a face covering on any other time. It's a matter of respect, and a way to show care toward those customers that may have health issues that may cause them not to survive the virus. The quality of the rocks, supply, and general helpfulness of the staff puts the business's score around 4 stars. If the guy had been wearing a face covering, I would give it 3 stars if it didn't mean saying everything was A-Ok. Because it wasn't. I can't speak to pricing, since we have only visited one business like it. I am considering visiting a few others to compare pricing and what is offered. So, bottom line, should you visit this business? Sure, if you are worried about your health (or the health of your loved ones), at least wear a good mask. They have a good selection, at decent prices (as far as we know). I can't speak to how the purchasing process goes, but the staff generally seem friendly and helpful. I mostly made this review because none were available for this period of time. And, hopefully, the business owner will see this, and at least ask their employees to wear some reasonable face covering when dealing with customers. I am not recommending that people avoid the business, just providing feedback that I hope will improve it. And help it prosper during these trying times. Stay safe and healthy out there! P.S. We received a delivery of their "veggie mix" recommended to us by a contractor. It was supposed to be amazing soil. The soil is nothing special and wasn't well mixed; it came with tons softball-sized blobs of straw completely stuck together in it, a bunch of sand in it, and the guy who delivered it was: 1) late and 2) had no idea what he was doing. Case in point: They use partitioned delivery trucks, so they can take more than one delivery out at a time. He had our soil in the front partitioned area of the truck and a load of 1-inch smooth gravel, uncovered, in the back partitioned area of the truck. When he raised the truck bed, a bunch of the gravel in the farther back area of the truck fell over the partition, and became mixed into the pile of soil he was dumping out of the back, that was ours. We were yelling at him to stop but he just dumped it all out as we stood there and yelled, and watched a bunch of gravel we didn't order get mixed into our expensive soil. He made a joke about it and I wasn't even sure what to say. It wasn't funny and I didn't order soil with 1-inch gravel randomly mixed into it. No offer to take it away and redeliver, nothing, and they actually charged us for his botched delivery. We were so sick of everyone doing a poor job and blaming it on COVID, I only now had a chance to sit and write out a review. So, soil mix is nothing special, my garden looks the same as last year, and I've spent an entire year picking out this gravel out of my multiple raised and flower beds and will continue to do so every time I cultivate because it is a pain in the butt to work around 1-inch gravel I never asked to have mixed into my large load of garden soil mixture. read more

FINE He said they woul deliver MONDAY between 12 and 4. They delivered early (fine) left me a message while I was at work. I just got home and I have LARGE BROWN BARK !! I called IMMEDIATELY got Chris who was nice but not helpful with resolving issue let me know his guy side I said Brown bark. (Not) I sked for a managermn and was put on hold and then got Rochell. I EXPLAINED nicely the above issuei asked how we could rectify the situation. She said i would have to bring the bark back if i wanted a refund. I told her i askedfor Black Bark. SHe said they dont have black bark the have black mulch. Really she just proved my int If i s a customer ordered black bark then why wouldnt your employee say "we dont have blackbark" wouldnt it be common sense to claify the order?? Just purchased their "signature" soil and I'm surprised they would call this stuff their best. Mostly chopped up wood with animal manure, it's attracting flys like crazy. Not much composted material, so it doesn't look very promising. Guess I'll shop elsewhere for good soil. I have purchased sand, bark, rock and decomposed granite. Every time I have been there I have had a very experience when paying and when getting my truck loaded. Some places they charge more if you don't buy by the full yard. Here at this business they don't. You can buy 1/4, 1/2 and it's just a 1/4 or half price. I like that cause sometimes you only need a 1/4 yard etc. I would recommend this business for all your landscaping needs. read more

Bought some cu. yrds of organic planter mix last year. The material is bad quality, had glass shards, nylon thread pieces, used gloves etc. The mix smelled weird for several days. Read online about these organic mixes and learnt that they could be mixing in city sewage - not sure how much of that is true. Anyways, the product I bought was poor quality and hence my rating. 2 stars because they delivered free and I want these guys to become better in business. I never give bad reviews ! If I have a bad experience I usually just let it go and move on to a different place of business. But this place gave the worst ever experience with my landscaping needs. I ordered bark for our new home and loved the product we ordered but we needed more and added a second delivery of the same product. But they delivered the wrong product and expected us to pay someone to pick it up and deliver it back to there place of business and purchase the correct bark again. I was flabbergasted! They also told me it would be a month before they could have the Gardner that we would have to pay for to come pick it up be able to do so. I will never use this company ever again. read more

Update: I went ahead and gave them one more chance and ordered several yards of their organic dirt for my garden. Thankfully, there was no trash in the dirt, and it looks to be really good quality. We ordered 5 yards decomposed granite on a Saturday, for delivery the next Friday morning. We paid for and were charged for 5 yards that Saturday. Friday morning half an hour before they were supposed to deliver it, we get a call that it is "no longer in stock" and it was explained to us that paying for the material did not reserve the material for us. What? So the material we paid for and scheduled delivery for was apparently sold to someone else. And my husband had already taken a vacation day to accept delivery of material that was never going to arrive. They said they were getting another shipment in that day and could deliver it on Saturday. Saturday, an hour before our rescheduled delivery they call again and again do not have the material. But they told us they might be able to deliver it on Monday instead and would we like to do that. Unbelievable. So they want us to waste another vacation day in order to stay home waiting for material that may or may not show up for the third time. Needless to say we cancelled. Just as icing on this awful experience, the manager never called on Monday as we requested so we could explain what had occurred. I always believe in giving a business a chance to make things right, but they were so unprofessional through the entire transaction that they didn't give me an opportunity to discuss the problems with them instead of airing my grievance on yelp. Ultimately, we ordered the decomposed granite from another company (Cascade Rock Inc). It was delivered on time and ended up being cheaper as well. read more

They do not stand by the products they sell and lack product control and reliability: I purchased 20 yds of their organic planters mix. After receiving my delivery I proceeded to check it's pH as a precaution;however, the ph registered 8.6. I check all components that they mix onsite to make their organic planters mix and their mushroom compost and topsoil were registering a ph of 8.1 and 8.6, respectively. As an additional test I also tested their planters mix (w/o mushroom compost) and obtained a value of 7.1-spot on! When I brought this issur to their attention they first tried to denied that a ph of 8.6 was harmful then stated that 'everyone rants and raves about it'. Anyone who grows veggies to flowers knows that the overwhelming majority of plants will not thrive nor survive such a high ph. I attempted to work with them, allowing the help to update the owner, and rather then make it right their fix was to offer me more mushroom compost. I asked for a better, one-time, deal on worm casting as they are around ph 7 and act as, among many things, a ph buffer. I was told it was too much and was diverted back to more mushroom compost. Why would I want more mushroom compost that you're vendor added too much dolomite lime?! Either way, if you want product reliability stay away from this yard-should've stayed with sgl in sac. read more

We bought several loads of Bark and Rock here. They are incapable of showing up on time(or at all). We waited for one delivery for 4 hours(between 8 and 12). When they no-showed we called only to be told the material HAD NOT EVEN ARRIVED AT THEIR YARD. Oh yeah, "meant to call you". Rescheduled delivery was an hour late too. Rancho Cordova to El Dorado Hills is not a moon shot. Basic good business: do what you're supposed to do; if you can't, CALL and let the customer know. There are better choices for landscape material; we won't be using Nimbus again. read more

Just spoke to Chris at Nimbus, ordered 2.5 yards of top soil and 5 yards of DG. They are out of DG,which apparently happens regularly. When he called back for payment I asked him to not charge deliver fee of $30 since it is not my fault they are out of the DG (which they would be delivering a total of 7.5 yards instead of 2.5) and he said "it isn't my fault either so I'm charging you". I will be taking my business to Hasties or another building supply store. Very poor customer service from a customer who has spent thousands of dollars here. read more
