2023 We loveeeee Green Acres!!! They are a tad pricier than other nurseries but stand by their knowledge, service and plant guarantee of a year. We've done our share of planting this year and we can't come here without driving away with a car full of plants and a much lighter wallet but love our thriving plants! This location is great! Ample parking and near a Costco and right off the freeway!

Custom planter with 3 plants: Valentine's Day Pot Up class, 2/11/23.

The Folsom green acres has so much more to offer than plants & supplies for your home, garden, and patio. In fact they hold classroom style learning events, which is what drew me to their Folsom location. I had received the new spring ad in the mail with their calendar of events. I hummed and hawed at whether or not, I would sign up for the V day pot up class and figured "why not?" I enrolled and paid on my green acres app, which locked down my seat. The teacher explained the steps we'd use to create our planters: step 1- add soil, step 2-take plants out of plastic pots one at a time and position where you would like them arranged in the planter, step 3-backfill with potting soil, step 4-top with decorative rocks. I posted a few pictures of the process from the V-day pot up class as well as my completed sweet smiley faced planter.

Reservations are essential, my friend and I thought we could slip in and have lunch, it was a 45 minute wait, only finding that out after we had stood in line for over 20 minutes plus.. The property is like a beautiful garden with a koi pond and wonderful garden art that I wanted so, so badly. Money . There's also an olive oil and vinegar tasting room and a separate gift shop all in this wonderful warehouse setting. My friend bought 2 oils costing $40.00 . I enjoyed myself in the nursery after eating at High Hand Cafe. I walked around to find myself greeted by beautiful plants and trees. They had unique fruit trees; various types of plums. There was a few places on this property to check out but on the day I went, the register outside was closed and directed customers who wanted to buy anything to go to the shop inside to make purchases. I appreciated this direct communication. When I looked at the various plants, I did not see anything wrong with the prices. I found you got what you paid for. These are unique and beautiful plants priced just right. If you haven't been to High Hand in Loomis yet, I highly suggest you check it out!

But there is no way I could resist stopping in the Nursery to check out all the beautiful plants. The staff are all so friendly and helpful. Pricing is not outrageous. This is one of the few independent owned local nurseries not yet gobbled up by a big franchise. On this past visit, I bought a bell pepper plant and a jalapeño pepper plant. The plants were about 3-4 inches tall and $3.99 each. They were healthy and gorgeous looking. Know it's up to me to keep these gems alive. Ohhh the pressure. They have a large assortment.... they have a bit of everything... succulents, roses, fruit trees, shade trees, houseplants, and seasonal vegetable plants. They also carry plant food, soil, garden decorations, pots, and gardening tools. The setup is rural and rustic but not amateurish. The parking lot is a gravel lot as is the nursery grounds. So leave your high heels at home. Another thing ... that unlike the big box shops, El Dorado Nursery does not have warranties or provide refunds for plants. Plus no dogs are allowed. They wreak havoc on the mental health of the resident chickens.

It is owned by a local woman entrepreneur. The garden center building is compact and filled with practical functional items and fun decorative items (perfect gift items). Some of the items are heirloom and organic flower & vegetable seeds, seed potatoes, plant food, gardening tools, houseplants, pots/planters, garden art, and wind chimes... just to name a few. Outside is the nursery with native flowers and plants, fruit trees, and vegetable plants. The outdoor area is compact. The plants are labeled to indicate if they are deer resistant which is important in these parts. Deer is abundant in these parts, and they have an appetite. The nursery inventory is thoughtfully laid out. Towards the back of the outside nursery is where the yoga studio is located. In addition to the yoga studio, there is a concrete patio with a view of the nursery below . That is where the outdoor yoga classes are held. They offer instruction in various types of yoga. The class schedule and pricing is posted on their website. Take a peek, pricing averages $15 a class and 10 class purchase is $120. The owner recently opened a cafe on the property. Nourish Cafe serves up cold pressed juices, fresh fruit smoothies, artisanal coffee, nourishing soups, and vibrant salads. Finding parking can be challenging. There is about 12 dedicated parking spaces in front on Green Valley Road. However, this place is popular. I could already see several things I'll be returning to shop for! The primary reason for my positive review, however, is the fantastic customer service we received from Priya. We were there to view plants recommended by our landscape contractor and explore other possibilities. Our contractor will ultimately be purchasing from this location on our behalf, so we were simply shopping the options. That didn't deter Priya from willingly walking us around and serving as our "tour guide" for the recommended plants on our list. She was incredibly knowledgeable, supremely friendly, and genuinely eager to assist--despite the fact that our visit wasn't going to result in an immediate sale. She definitely knew her way around the "yard"--she instantly knew the location of every plant we inquired about. Green Acres is very fortunate to have such a wonderful employee! Aside from the order our contractor will be placing, we will absolutely be returning for future purchases as we complete a very comprehensive overhaul of our yard. I am a longtime customer (well over a decade) of both the Gold River and Roseville locations - and generally have been very pleased with both the products I have purchased and the customer service experience I have had. Unfortunately, for the past six months, my experience has been nothing short of abysmal. In March, I ordered replacement outdoor cushions for furniture I originally purchased from CB in 2017. I was told the order would take 4-5 weeks for delivery, which would have meant I would have my new cushions by early May - in plenty of time for the summer season. However throughout the entire month of May and all of June, I was repeatedly told that the order had been "pushed" - meaning the delivery was delayed. I only received updates when I either called, texted or physically went into the store to inquire on the status. In late May, I was informed the delay was caused by the vendor (North Cape) because they had relocated their manufacturing facility from the midwest to Atlanta. More weeks went by with no additional information until I finally took it upon myself in mid-June to Google and discovered that this relocation had actually occurred in February as a result of a corporate acquisition. This acquisition led to significant issues with the ability of this vendor being able to manufacture and deliver products in a timely manner. After feeling extremely frustrated that CB either didn't know or didn't share with me what was really going with their vendor, I pivoted on June 30 by canceling this first order and choosing a different set of cushions from a different vendor (a vendor I was told was far more reliable- and by the way - more expensive). I placed this second order on June 30 - and was told it would take 5-6 weeks for delivery. While I was very disappointed I was going to miss a good part of the summer, I figured getting a new set of cushions by mid-August was still acceptable. Unfortunately it is now Sept. 4 and I still do not have the cushions. I only learned four days ago (8/31) that CB failed to submit the specific sizing requirements for one of the cushions to the vendor until July 12, two weeks after I had placed the order. This error led to more delays. Most frustrating is that this information was withheld from me despite my making multiple inquiries throughout August as to the status of my order. I have now lost an entire six months of the outdoor season due to circumstances entirely out of my control. I do not want to assign blame to any single person at CB. Instead, I believe this situation is likely the result of a systematic customer service failure within this company. There has been both a complete lack of proactive, regular communication to me (as the costumer), and a failure to proactively take whatever steps necessary internally to resolve this problem and get the product to the customer as soon as possible. I directly requested several times that CB explore an expedited shipment of the cushions - but these requests were either never fully pursued or an explanation of why this wasn't possible was never provided to me. I hope that CB will take my comments as constructive feedback and evaluate what improvements they can make so that this situation does not occur to other customers in the future. I also want to acknowledge that CB - to their credit- has offered me a substantial discount on the final purchase of these cushions. While I do appreciate this gesture, I would have much preferred to have received my cushions in the delivery timeframe that was promised.
