Our spring usually starts with a few big tips to Green Acres as we can get most of our plants, soil, trees, and garden tools there. We had a big run this year which included flowers, indoor plants and pots, along with with replacing many of our dated planting tools. We found everything we needed. I was specifically looking for self watering pots for inside our house as I have always had great luck with them and ours needed to be upgraded. The staff helped us immensely and provided several options. Checkout is always easy as they are incredibly well organized. They offer bags and paper to line your car truck etc to help keep it clean. Most things have a reasonable price and it's great when you can find everything in one place-saving you time! read more

Been here more than once, safe to say I'm a returning customer. Although, I don't have a green thumb, I love plants. Maybe time to declare, that's why I'm a returning customer. Haha. Someone has to replenish the empty pot and keep Green Acres in business. Service- Each time, I've had great experience. I have been coming here for eight months since moving to this area. So far no complaints. Some plants are pricey but it's inflation too. So I can't put a value nor I can say, it's suppose to be cheap. For that, I'll have to go several stores to compare the costs. This day and age, gas might cost more. So I will say, they are priced accordingly per plant. Sorry!!! That 's my personal opinion. Lots of parking!!! So no need to fight over space! read more

Reccomend not going to this location. We went in shared that we just bought our first home last week, and we were putting in a garden asked for help getting soil and plants. The workers response was, "it's spring and busy so we do not have a lot of time to spend with customers." Instead of giving us any soil advice they handed me a card and said to figure it out. We then left, drove over to the Rocklin location where we had multiple people ask if we needed assistance, even offered to look in the back for plants in better condition. Awful customer service, will never be back even if it's a 1 mile drive. read more

So we went spring flower shopping today. It was hot out, And the day after my 1st Ozempic injection. I Got thru gathering my plants and headed in to checkout when it hit me. Nothing to eat, dehydrated and I went down in a stack of dirt. Vomited. Too dizzy to stand the staff helped me into a wheelchair and put me under a cool vent inside, and fixed me up with cold water. Anyway my thanks to your safety manager and the other staff that joined her. They offered to call an ambulance, but I assured them it was just a nasty side effect, and thanks to their efforts I was able to complete my shopping snd walk on my own power out b to the car. Thanks you guys! YOU have a kind and caring crew, and they certainly stepped up today. My apologies, for the incident. I didn't follow the recommendations on my ozempic, and I paid the price. Decided to try this green acres since it is closer to home. Unfortunately our experience was ruined by a very rude and dismissive cashier named Patty. We will not going back to this store in the future. My husband and I are both reasonable, level-headed individuals, however, with Patty we were talked down to and it was very rude and uncalled for. read more

2023 We loveeeee Green Acres!!! They are a tad pricier than other nurseries but stand by their knowledge, service and plant guarantee of a year. We've done our share of planting this year and we can't come here without driving away with a car full of plants and a much lighter wallet but love our thriving plants! This location is great! 5/4/2023: It started with fancying two extremely vibrant green, ceramic, planter pots handmade in Vietnam; however, there were only two of the same size BUT, the ceramic pots did not match, i.e., the design was different . . . I really want the ceramic pots matching each other. So, I approached the Special Orders Desk requesting searching for the matching ceramic pot as per the ceramic pot I showed the Green Acres' Customer Service Representative I had on the shopping cart trolley: The Folsom Green Acres' Customer Service Representative diligently scoured all of the Green Acres Stores' stock inventory via the Green Acres Nursery inventory computer; the only Green Acres Nursery which had the ONLY matching pot was located in Elk Grove CA. Therefore, I requested having the ceramic pot Interstore, i.e., transfer via truck--shipped from Elk Grove to Folsom which took about one week in order, arriving at Folsom. Now, I'm so pleased Green Acres Nursery was able receiving the matching pot unscathed which I drove to Folsom in order, purchasing and picking up the matching ceramic pot; however, after receiving the matching pot, I realized I needed the next size down from the larger, green, ceramic pot for my indoor, exotic, dwarf, fruit trees and houseplants! Alright~I must return to the vibrant green ceramic planter pots located at Green Acres Nursery's rear, outside, fenced, loading dock area . . . Oooof . . . What a l-o-n-g walk heave-ho, pushing the already heavy trolley with the large, matching, green, ceramic pot onboard; I had to pick up FIVE more vibrant green, ceramic pots: Anyway, by July 7, 2023, I finally finished replanting all the exotic fruit trees and houseplants into the vibrant green ceramic pots . . . What a heavy-duty task I assigned myself accomplishing! BTW: 7/10/2023, i.e., UPDATE--The variegated, Espalier, apple tree has grown so large from first planting on 2/11/2020! Went in today to get a Christmas tree. Laura the manager was awesome and helped me and my family get the perfect tree. She deserves a raise.

My wife has purchased numerous plants, fertilizer and tools from this store. Ouch! The pricing is ridiculous! Plus, several plants didn't make it an entire season before dying. I have been to the store also on several occasions and was not impressed with the customer service. Most employees seem to avoid being asked questions, and when you do, the response seems indifferent. Inventory is good, but scattered and often miss marked. For example, we purchased an heirloom tomato plant, only to learn after is produced fruit that is was something entirely different. read more

The Folsom green acres has so much more to offer than plants & supplies for your home, garden, and patio. In fact they hold classroom style learning events, which is what drew me to their Folsom location. I had received the new spring ad in the mail with their calendar of events. I hummed and hawed at whether or not, I would sign up for the V day pot up class and figured "why not?" I enrolled and paid on my green acres app, which locked down my seat. The teacher explained the steps we'd use to create our planters: step 1- add soil, step 2-take plants out of plastic pots one at a time and position where you would like them arranged in the planter, step 3-backfill with potting soil, step 4-top with decorative rocks. Many things far too overpriced for the quality. The customer service is a bit to be desired. Not a very welcoming atmosphere. Some Products not very organized. I don't mind spending the money if the quality is there and the service. They've missed the mark. They have a lot of miscellaneous things besides plants but the set up, meh! read more

We came here for a Christmas tree since we live nearby. They had a large variety of noble firs in different sizes. We got the 8-9 foot tree. The cost seems to be getting higher over the years but we were very happy with our selection. The staff person helped prepare the tree by putting it on the shaker and trimming the lower branches. He even secured the tree on top our SUV. We'll be back again next year. read more

I love this store and I am a regular. Yesterday, I came for a 6 foot weeping cherry, which I bought with the helpful advice of a dark-haired young woman working out in the "sun loving plants" area. All good. So far, I haven't gone crazy. My tree and I cruise around admiring the beautiful new plants when I encounter Anne, who asks if I need help. I can't disappoint her, so ask about guara. "Why yes we do! In two colors, two sizes and two locations." Six guara later, I ask Anne about sun impatiens. You guessed it . . . I took four of those. So long self-control! I checked out pushing a veritable jungle and I blame it all on Anne. read more

This has always been our go-to place for gardening and landscaping supplies...and ideas on how to do it. If the displays don't help you get inspired, there's the staff who are always around to answer your questions. The place is huge! You can be here for at least an hour or two, just browsing...while going, "Oh, I can put this in a corner in the living room!", or "Oh, I can hang this in a corner in the dining!", or whatever else comes to mind while you browse the location. There is just so many varieties of plants that are available in store and the cards on the plants show how they look like, including information on growth rate, adult height and width, and watering requirement. The store is clean as can be, though there are a few spots of over-watering here and there that you should be wary of, until the staff have it swept or mopped. But the nice thing about this location is that there's area where they have installed a netting that keeps the plants (and the customers) out of the sun's direct rays. Prices are affordable. If you're on a budget, grab little pots. If you have mucho dinero to spend, you can go for the bigger sized pots... read more

Green Acres is my favorite nursery supply chain, and the Folsom store is my favorite location. This store is laid out a bit differently from the other locations in that most of the plants are outside, while almost everything else is inside. Parking is also amply available, which is more than I can say for some of their other stores. When it comes to pottery, Green Acres cannot be beat. Indoors, near the back of the store, they have clay pots in every size and color imaginable. Not only is the terra cotta a little bit better quality than what I've been able to find elsewhere, but it also comes in white or gray varieties for about the same price. Aside from these, there are also fancier planters lining the entire perimeter of the outdoor garden area, including some that were shaped like buses and honey pots. I mostly come here for the succulents, which are primarily located near the back right corner of the outdoor nursery (as well as a smaller section indoors). There are usually about two to three well-stocked aisles of succulents such as lithops, echeverias, sempervivums, haworthias, and all kinds of cacti. Some of my favorite plants that I've purchased here are my Gold Nugget sempervivums and several different varieties of lithops. So far, all of the plants that I've purchased here seem to have fared better in the long run than plants that I purchased anywhere else in town. I also love their pearock, lava rocks, pumice, and decorative rock section. They're typically cheaper than I can find anywhere else, and work great in my succulent soil mixtures. read more

I have been afraid of gardening for years. I always manage to kill plants. But I have wanted a lemon tree my whole life. So for my birthday, we went to Green Acres and picked a lemon tree that was already fruiting so I didn't have to panic as much. The staff was super friendly! When it came time to repot it, they helped us pick out the correct soil and told us how to transplant it. We picked up an apricot tree on sale that is growing enormously and already showing some fruit growing! My lemon tree was only $5 more than Costco, and it was already fruit bearing. Totally worth it! Love going to this place and checking things out. My hubs is going to cut me off because I keep thinking of more trees I want . . . read more

Green Acres is the place for me... farm livin' is the life for me...**singin it. Ok, farm luvin' is not really the life for me. However Green Acres Nursery & Supply ( in Folsom, CA) is the place for me. Perfect place to pick up plants, garden supplies, landscaping supplies, outdoor living (grills, patio furniture), and pottery. The quality of their plant selections are wonderful, very healthy. The prices are a not outrageous. They are a smidge more than the big box store. But the quality far exceeds the big box and they have knowledgeable helpful staff. My store favorites are the planting pots and the vegetable plants. They have a huge variety of pots for houseplants, prices start as low as $4 for basic terra cotta small pots. Plus they have tons of outdoor planters and pots. They have various styles and colors to appease all design styles. read more

My first visit to Green Acres. Lotsa cool stuff. Where to start looking. I was pretty sure I could wander around a good while browsing and taking it all in! Heard about Green Acres from so many people and read great YELP reviews too! So lets get shopping:). This is a huge place! Today not too crowded which ensured good social distancing. Also one entrance and a different exit. Employees and customers masked. Friendly staff. I was asked multiple times if I needed help. Gorgeous outdoor furniture, fire pits, an entire section of brand name barbeques, garden decor of every kind and soooo much more. Really overwhelming in a good way. A relaxing place to stroll and forget the world. Any kind of plant or tree has to be here! The amount of indoor and outdoor space devoted to live flora and fauna is incredible. Can hardly wait for spring to see all the in-season flowers. I was hoping I might find an edible bird wreath to hang on my patio. When I found the bird section it was smaller than anticipated. But that could have been because it is winter. As my time was running out, I did not ask if they had more bird offerings in spring. But I will definitely be visiting again so I will inquire at that time. First, let me say, most Green Acres have a comprehensive selection of plants, tools, and all of the necessary garden yard items. Checkout it fast, assistance is available to load vehicles, and staff is knowledgeable. Most retailers have cut back to the 80/20 principle of limited choice, but Green Acres continues to add. Some of the stores have a broad selection of outdoor furniture and dedicated staff to assist. The smaller stores are also well stocked. For all of this they deserve 5 stars. After landscaping 5 homes using plants/products from them I have periodically had to return a plant that died from unknown causes and they have always stood behind the plant warranty. What's more, we purchase a teak dining table had slats that has a top that had slats that started warping a little over a year later. I sent photos and explanation, and without having to followup, a replacement top showed up 9 months later. It took a while because of the slow production by the manufacturer, but we are deeply grateful for their persistence and followup. No more spilled glasses, thank you David Doane. read more

Buyer beware! They have a lousy return/refund policy on plants compared to other nurseries. I shopped for $475 worth of plants on the 18th Mar 2023. They were a mix of veggies, annuals and perennials in 6-plant flats, 4-in pots and slightly bigger than 4-in pots. There were also a handful of plants in gallon sized pots. This is my first time ever spending so much all at one place over plants - it happened to be the launch of their shop at Roseville at the new location. Sadly, close to 70% of plants I bought that day did not make it. In my assessment it was a combination of reasons. 1. it was too early in the season 2. possibly because of which the plants were not all that big. Therefore, they seemed too delicate to get planted outside and neither did they do well in my little green house. Slowly I lost a lot of the plants from that day's shopping. For instance, I had picked up 4 or 5 colorful Coleus in 6 plant-flats even though they were really tender because they were just the colors I wanted in my combo pots. I have just 2 plants left of it!! The plants were too small and roots were rather too fragile in the 6 piece flat. A couple of day's ago, I shared a very brief account of this with a cashier at the Folsom location and she said that if I still had the receipt and the dead plants in the gallon sized pots they'd be able to help. Today I went back to find out even more. 1. They DO NOT take returns or give refunds on bedding plants, annuals, perennials, veggies, or any other plants in 4-in pots, or even the slightly bigger pots, houseplants or topiary plants. Phew! What's left then, did you say? They said they do take fruit trees, shrubs or plants in gallon sized pots if only you took it back WITH the dead plant AND receipt. This is one the lousiest return policies I've ever come across in a nursery of this scale and size. One would expect that they'd care for customer retention and loyalty. Apparently they don't! And they are even unapologetic about it. I've seen much better, and genuinely good customer service at little plant shops that some farmers markets have. One of the ladies at the cash counter very "helpfully" suggested that I need a new gardener. I AM the gardener for the most part and I only have help that comes few times a month. And still, I do have a thriving garden, even if I say so myself. With an intention of inspiring them to do better I shared how Annie's Annuals in Richmond, CA keeps a database of what a registered customer buys, and how they're trusting of customers showing them pictures of plants that do not make it. (btw, registering yourself is free, and you get points for $$ spent which you get to redeem) There's some reasonable time frame within which they're open to giving you a store credit, would Green Acres also consider something similar perhaps, I asked. She bluntly replied no, and that she wouldn't blame me if I decided to shop more at Annie's. The two ladies at the cash counter were only doing their job - I've nothing against them personally. It's the policy that I have a problem with, and it can be tweaked slightly to be more pro-customer/customer-friendly and it can definitely use better judgement. Plant communities tend to be much more giving and trusting of each other in my observation and I've not ever seen such iron-handed vibe from a seller in my plant buying experience. As a business, you are a giant that can - and rightly must - absorb some of the risk burden of an individual that shops with you, again and again - don't you think? After all, the spirit of supporting local businesses is a two-way street. On our way back home we did in fact discuss how it was too costly, risky and unpleasant to buy plants from Green Acres ever again. $475 lesson learnt! read more

I looked at their prices for various things then cross referenced with Amazon, Costco, grocery outlet, locals selling seedlings and such.. They are at least double what everyone else was charging, maybe even a bit more depending. I was looking for specific items this trip, so it was a one stop shop for everything which was nice but unless you need something no one else has, I'd check elsewhere first. Went looking for a larger Crepe Myrtle with dark pink flowers than the big box general hardware stores offered and Green Acres Nursery had exactly what I was looking for and more. Also learned that they do deliver within 10 miles if you buy $750 worth or pay $100 delivery fee which is very reasonable. Shout out to Steve for spending some time to show me a variety of plants and flowers that would be a good fit for my yard and for helping me pick out some good looking Queen Palms. All of the staff that I ran into were very knowledgeable and super nice.
