No dry cleaner or in-store alteration places can match the talents of this experienced couple. They're old-school trained from Korea where they used to make modern and traditional suits and dresses for their customers. I've taken clothes in regularly for simple hems, long coats shortened for the latest styles, short coats lengthened with complimentary materials, shoulders taken in, leathers, silks, high-end designer clothes a couple sizes too big from Nordstrom rack where prices were too good to pass up... You should know that taking in a too-big waist doesn't end at the waist band. The butt needs to be pulled in. The crotch needs to be pulled up. The legs need to be sized proportionally. They will deconstruct and reconstruct the entire garment to custom fit your body. Very clean, neat work. No threads hanging off, stitching always matches the original. Same day service is offered if requested for simple services. When I lived in Fallston and Philadelphia, I still came back to them for my alterations. When I lived in Chicago, I stocked up and brought my alterations back when I came to visit my family in MD. That's how good they are. Their shop may be easily missed. Turn onto Scott Adam Rd from York Rd. Pass the strip mall and their storefront is in the big office building where you'll see their bright neon Open sign hanging in the window.

I went on Yelp to find a seamstress. I came across Ella Pritsker Couture and I am so happy I did. We spoke on the phone and she was able to have me come in the same day. I brought in my dress and told her what I envisioned the dress. The dress turned out even better than I had envisioned! Ella's attention to detail and craftsmanship of the dress was beyond my best expectations. She created a beautiful silk dress and used the lace from the bottom of my dress along with some of buttons from the back. Even as a completely new dress, I could tell the dress came from my wedding dress (which actually made me tear up with happy tears). We received so many compliments on the dress. The dress truly added to an already amazingly joyful day. Additionally, the structure of my wedding dress is still intact and Ella advised that i can always add fabric back to the bottom of the dress if i wanted to (for example, to use for a vow renewal ceremony). I know I will come back to Ella for that and any future needs. She is extremely professional and her craftsmanship is exceptional, bar none.

I awkwardly stand there for 5 minutes without any acknowledgment, and then a women (I'm assuming is her) comes over and takes my dress. When she is going to hang it up, I asked her if it was okay that I brought a second dress (my rehearsal dinner dress) but before I could even finish she harshly cuts me off and told me "you need sit down, I have another client". I was very taken aback but how rude she was and it honestly caught me off guard. It was so bad I almost debated just taking my dress back and leaving but because I had waited a month for this appointment and my wedding was in a month, I figured I might as well see it through. Huge mistake. I change into my dress and describe to her the alternations I was looking for, which is to shorten it a little and also remove the breast cups. I did not think it was a significant amount of alternations but she seemed to think so. She then proceeded to tell me that she "may" be able to do it, but then looked at her calendar and said that she couldn't guarantee it. I honestly was so confused because she knew my wedding date when she booked this consultation appointment. If it wasn't something that could be done I feel she should've just told me up front rather than let me wait until the appointment. At that point I didn't even put up a fight as in the back of my mind, I knew I wouldn't have been comfortable with her altering my dresses anyways. She gave off the impression that if anything needed tweaking or wasn't to your satisfaction you would be SOL. All in all, a huge waste of my time. It would've been less of a bad experience if she wasn't so rude upfront. I'm starting to think her 5-star google reviews are faked, as at least on Yelp there are a few honest reviews that mention her bad attitude to her clients so it seems to be a common theme. I have no doubt she would've done a good job at the alternations, but that trust was gone.
