Text thread with the con team.
    Arian H.

These guy's scream scam. I have gotten a text every day for the past 45 days along the lines that they either are looking for talent in one of their open calls or that projects like the Hunger Games, Outer Banks & Netflix are casting. I've asked if they are a casting director, talent agency or casting platform, and they state that they connect actors to projects as opposed to being one of the three options that are possible for the entertainment industry. If they were casting for those projects, then they would not be blowing-up my text messages. I like to think I'm an awesome actor, but no one is worth that sort of trouble, which means they are desperate for volume, which in turn means that their model is based on sales. They will ask for money up front: scam. They will offer you either acting / modeling lessons or head shots at a price: scam. They will use sale tactics: scam. Organizations like Nine9 prey on unsuspecting, naive people with offers that are too good to be true. Parents of aspiring actors are great targets for this sort of con. A cursory search of Reddit will produce far better tactics and strategies if you or your loved one would like to get into entertainment. Best of luck! STAY AWAY.

Do not trust this witch. this is a scam. no real casting agencies require you to pay a ridiculous subscription fee.

Presenter. Did not get her name.
    Mark V.

Interesting. Presenter listed her long resume of working in the entertainment industry. She also did a lot of name dropping as previous reviewers pointed out, names like: Stranger Things, Happy Gilmore, Tyler Perry, etc. Roles could possibly be speaking roles or extra roles. Sounded to good to be true and that was confirmed at the end of the call when she casually mentioned that in order to create a digital profile it would be $99 and $39.99 per month to keep it active. I'm sure times have changed over the years, but I remember going to college in LA and signing up to be an extra back then. It was free to sign up and did not cost anything monthly. I can't claim it's a scam or whatnot, that's something you will have to look into yourself, but I decided not to put money into it.

No talent agency should be asking for money just to sign up. To just want to be an extra on my own time should be free

Scam. Pay to play kind of company. Shady zoom call. Subscription pressure. They make guarantees that they can't keep.

This entire business is a scam. It's a fee based mess, impossible to cancel, and not at all professional.

Scam, they'll tell you it's a one time $99 joining fee then charge you a monthly fee without notice. Please don't fall for it

The casting experience was not as pleasant as I thought it would be. The studio was not baby friendly. They had metal benches as seats for the casters. The benches were definitely not baby proof! They had sharp corners. We're at a studio for a BABY casting right? So unfortunately, one baby was walking around and fell right on one of the corners. Poor baby bled. They asked mothers not to allow their babies to walk around, is that even possible? Obviously these people do not have kids. Part 2. We were told we made it as finalists and to hold a certain date open. 2 days before that date, I decided to call since I was not told what time to arrive for casting. Unfortunately, we were told that we have been released. No email or phone call were made to inform us. It would only be fair for us to be informed via the many available forms of communications. They asked their casters to hold a certain date for the final casting, but when we are not "hired" they simply waited for us to call to follow up. Their work might be keeping them busy from making a simple phone call or email, but our lives are busy too; especially working mothers. Even if we are the ones who have to call, at least employ people who are friendly and professional. I have definitely experience once of the sourest customer service from Paul. Blessing in disguise. Who wants to work with an unempathetic company.

From learning script analysis, on camera technique, getting my headshots and reel, and having help getting my casting account set up in class, I found myself getting cast super often immediately after graduation from the beginner program. I now take the on going advanced classes, and all the students and coaches truly feel like a family to me. The school's coaches are all working actors themselves who have worked with some of the biggest names in the industry so they are the best to learn from. They are people that you can go to with any questions you may have as a new actor and they are always so helpful. This isn't the type of school where you eventually take all the classes and have no more to gain; the advanced classes are always growing and the coaches give us scenes and work that they know will help our individual careers. The coaches take the most amazing tapes in class for us so I have a great reel from that to use for castings. We also always have endless support, a place to film our self tapes, and help with our auditions at this school. The classes that are offered are also the most affordable acting classes I have found in the city. I am grateful everyday that I have Act First!
