    Daily hallway poop

UPDATE AUGUST 15, 2024: Car was broken into AGAIN! Management responded by charging $100 for parking spots which used to be included with rent. Dozens of apartments are vacant now, everyone is leaving this terrible place. Do yourself a favor and don't move in to begin with. This used to be a glowing 5 Star review, but Nineteen01 has since been sold to a management company, Avenue5, and this review needed an update. I have lived here for 5 years, my roommate has lived here for 6. I used to love this place and never wanted to leave. Now, we absolutely cannot wait for our lease to end. DO NOT MOVE IN HERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!! Despite being a "luxury" apartment building, we do not even have the luxury of keeping our property safe. In May, both my car and my neighbor's car had the windows smashed, were broken into and stolen from, both on the third floor of our "secure" residential parking. My storage unit was also broken into and all of my old electronics and instruments were stolen from inside my unit in a locked room inside the "secure" building. Do not expect any help from the office. Speaking of security, the alarms malfunction so often that, in the event of an actual emergency, no one would even react. This is because, over a dozen times, we've been woken up in the middle of the night to a blaring alarm for 10-15 minutes until the fire department can come and reset it. It's a pet friendly building but I'm glad we don't have animals here. If you do have a pet, they are only allowed at the dog park, which as of yesterday when we walked past it, is a 1:1 ratio of fake grass to feces. I don't think the dog poop has been cleaned up since they purchased the building, but there are plenty of signs saying that they will fine you $50 if you don't pick it up. And speaking of fining you, I hope you have a credit card to put down if you ever want to receive packages at this building, although I'm not sure how that's legal. But that is their rule, because if your package stays in one of the mail room lockers for more than three days, you start incurring charges to your card. Don't order anything on Amazon for at least one week before your upcoming trips and vacations! Their package locker got broken into and multiple resident packages were stolen, including several of mine. In response, and without informing us of the issue with stealing, they began only accepting large packages to the office and requiring an ID during business hours to pick up. If you work a 9-5, you can no longer receive packages here. Avenue5 also changed the utility billing, where instead of being charged by unit, you pay equally for whatever the building uses. It doesn't matter how much you conserve, or if you're even at home, you'll still be paying for the waste of the whole building. The utilities aren't even reliable; we regularly lose all hot water. Ice cold showers in the morning while it's raining outside in February. Luxury. For your own mental health, find one of the many, many other buildings in the area. They literally opened three brand new ones on across the street. Please, don't waste your time and money on this one. It is a case study in how a greedy, terrible management company came in and ruined a building for maximum profits. This is my home and Avenue5 ruined it. Absolutely disgusting.

    Just another day at 1901...

This is 1901...trash removal/pick up has been a huge disappointment lately. Management needs to do better about this situation

I was going to write this after I move out but it cannot wait! 1 - TVs do not work upstairs in the so call lounge roof top. Out of 9 Televisions, only the big screen works. 2- machines in the gym stay broken and when you send an email because you are tired of waiting, they just lie and tell you it is scheduled to be repaired. It's been broken for over two months and of course NONE of the TVs work in there. 3- grills are a joke. They have been broken since we moved here 08/23 4- security doors. Also a joke. The door coming in from garage can be accessed by anyone with out a fob and I made everyone in the office aware of that months ago. They don't care!! 4-premises are filthy, I work from home so I know if they get cleaned during the day. I've had dog poop outside our door. Doors, floors and walls are dirty. 5- fire alarms go on ALL THE TIME. I was warned when we were looking by a resident that was moving out. I thought she might be over reacting. She wasn't!!

This dog poop smear was there for over 2 weeks, I emailed management repeatedly to no response.

Luxury Living?!?! NOT HERE!!! Do NOT be fooled... I've lived here for over 5 years and it's gone downhill, especially within the last 6 months...Where do I begin?! -Hallways are DISGUSTING and stained, its been MONTHS since they were actually cleaned. The trash rooms are constantly overflowing and the stench is putrid. -Management does not respond to emails, I wonder if anyone that works there knows how to hit the "Reply" button. I have at least 10 unanswered emails. And good luck on them answering the phone. The very little communication management does send, is always difficult (and quite comical) to read because of the grammatical errors and misspellings, it's extremely unprofessional. They really should proofread and at the very least spell-check their communications before they send them out. -There is dog piss/poop literally EVERYWHERE, in the halls, elevators, staircases, etc. The amount of emails I've sent management about the incessant dog piss and poop is unbelievable. -Elevators constantly reek of either wet dog, dog piss/poo or pot. -If you like the pool, be ready to access it only a few months out of the year. At the beginning of summer there is a duck problem and management has been asked to put owl statues, alligator floats, etc to deter the ducks, but they do not and simply do NOT allow you to go in the pool. It's an EVERY YEAR thing, when the ducks come to live here, we are NOT allowed in. -Rooftop area - NONE of the TVs are working, I emailed management a few times and of course never got a reply, I was told the TVs will not be on for a few months while "renovations" take place, so we're no longer able to watch sports up there for a few months, allegedly not until mid-March. The cabanas do not have TVs or curtains anymore (even though they advertise them), they stripped them and only have old, stinky mattresses on them. The big screen TV, when it was on, looked like it's about to die, constantly flickering. No one except for management can change the channel, so if you want to watch sports or anything up there, good luck with that. -INCESSANT dog barking! You will hear dogs barking ALLLL DAY and NIGHT. If you face the courtyard, you'll DEFINITELY hear it because EVERYTHING echoes. If you face the dog park, you'll CERTAINLY hear it. If you face 1st St, it won't be too bad but be prepared to hear the transients scream at the top of their lungs in despair. Fire Alarms CONSTANTLY going off, the fire alarms have gone off just about every week this year (2024), at 3am/4am, 8pm, random times. If you have a baby, be VERY careful, it's excruciatingly loud and can harm their ears. -"Gated/Secured building" is not accurate - the gates are constantly broken. The most recent time the gate was broken it took OVER 3 months for them to fix so they had to leave all gates open which allowed for the transients to come in, which led to a spike in break-ins. -The call boxes do NOT work. I've repeatedly asked management when they'd be fixed and they cannot answer this. So if you have guests coming, and the gates are actually working, you must walk all the way down and open the Guest Parking Gate because the call box doesn't work. Same goes for Uber Eats/Door Dash. -Lack of Security - there has been NO SECURITY for a few months now which has lead to multiple break-ins and the mailroom to be compromised. I, personally, have had "lost" or stolen packages. I rarely have packages sent here anymore, I have them sent to my moms house or my office. -Bikes are ALWAYS being stolen, DO NOT keep your bike in the "bike locker" because IT WILL BE STOLEN. -Car break-ins happen very frequently, my friends car was broken in to TWICE. -The number of transients/drug addicts in the area has skyrocketed. FUN FACT: THERE IS A METHADONE CLINIC NEXT DOOR! Some of these people take the liberty of washing themselves or their clothes in the water fountain/feature in front of the building. I live on the 5th Floor and have had multiple instances of transients somehow making their way to the actual roof of the building. Security let me know they've caught numerous transients sleeping up there. -"Parties" that the previous management company would host were actually fun, that's certainly not the case with new management. They had a "costume" party, where they offered Little Caesars pizza slices/soda. It's embarrassing when guests tell me, "this place has really gone downhill" - it truly HAS. Honestly, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere, this place is a joke.

The lobby/leasing office/mail area really makes a grand impression when you first see it and it stands out above every other complex that I have toured. Flooring/thickness: 2/5 Soundproofing of the flooring in the unit above gets a 0/5 You will hear a dog running back and forth. You can definitely hear anyone without slippers or if they drop something on the floor. and it's horrible if they have people over. Luck of the draw here of your neighbor. I was lucky the first 24 months, but now I have to move because of this as talking to them didn't help. It's "just apartment living" is how it's dismissed. It's constant sounds 16 hours a day now and unlivable for me as it constantly occupies your attention even until 2 AM. You will need to get a top floor as the noise leaks through. The adjacent wall sound isolation gets a 4.5/5 You will rarely hear them unless a sound speaker is cranked up or if the sounds leak in from the hallway. Noise pollution: 2/5 -Outside facing apartments will get the freeway noises of loud cars racing down the freeway. -Mall facing apartments will get loud cars without mufflers and motorcycles. -Inside facing apartments will get parties or pool sounds and kids screaming Air Quality: 3/5 Obviously close to the freeway, you can see black particulate that isn't dust build up atop your car. Ventilation fans and the front door also pull in smoke and grilling smell from people cooking in the patio if your apartment is in the path of the natural draft. Charles is great at the leasing office and helped me with a transfer. Intrusiveness: 3/5 Odd one but they will need to enter your apartment even if you are not home almost every 2 months due to annual inspections with more than two days notice: Fire Alarm, HVAC, Dryer Cleaning, Water Meter, Smoke Alarm, Appliance Inspection, etc. Walkability: 3.5/5 The closed off wellsfargo lot and missing sidewalk, and mall construction lower the score a bit for the area around, but there is still a mall you can walk through. The closed off wells fargo & missing sidewalk somewhat impedes the walkability to the local mother's market and chipotle. This remains a 4/5 after touring 18 more complexes in the local 10 miles. The score stays high as I've chosen to move within the complex for a continued stay and to avoid the annoyance and costs of fully moving. If you are sensitive to noise, this might lower to a 3/5. If I were not already here, this would still be in the top 3. It takes a lot for someone to review or bother to update one but i am annoyed enough to do so.

I've lived in some of the nicest most luxurious apartment communities in Orange County including Halcyon House, One uptown Newport and the Royce. Even though some of the others have better "location" there is no disputing that. I believe the row has the best bang for your buck and overall the best experience. Lived at The Row at Red Hill for about a year now and it's been a great call. Location is hard to beat -- quick access to the 55 and 5, and having the onsite retail means a lot of errands happen without ever getting in the car. The amenities here are genuinely top notch -- the gym and fitness area are some of the best I've had at an apartment community, and the rooftop pools are a huge win, especially living in SoCal. Those two alone get a ton of use from me and they're kept up well, which honestly matters more day-to-day than people expect. The gym is probably as good as it gets for OC as far as apartment communities are concerned. But the real reason I'm writing this is Jose and Margarita. Jose handles the outdoor common areas -- streets, the dog park, landscaping -- and it's obvious he takes pride in it. The man does not play around, he does the job perfectly. The grounds always look sharp, not just "fine." Margarita covers the parking garage and building hallways, and same thing: consistently clean, no slacking, every single day. It's easy for property management to talk about amenities and community, but what actually makes a place livable is people like Jose and Margarita showing up and doing the work right, day in and day out. That's the difference between an apartment complex that looks good in photos and one that's actually well run. This one's the latter, and a big part of that is them. Honorable mention to everyone else. The leasing staff as well as resident relations team are always super nice and professional. Five stars, easy recommend.

My wife and I moved into The Row approximately one month ago, and unfortunately, our experience has…read morebeen extremely disappointing--especially considering this is the most expensive apartment community we have ever lived in. Since moving in, we have dealt with an ongoing ant infestation throughout our unit, primarily in the kitchen. We have found ants around the stove, microwave, cabinets, countertops, and numerous other areas. This is not an occasional ant or two; it has been a persistent problem that has made us extremely uncomfortable in our own home. Management has sent pest control to our unit twice. The first treatment did little, if anything, to improve the problem. Pest control returned two days later, and we were instructed to leave our home for four hours following the treatment. What concerned me most was how quickly the second visit appeared to be completed. After letting the technician into the unit, I left to walk my dog and briefly stopped at our vehicle on the second floor to drop something off. I was at my vehicle for approximately 30 seconds. By the time I reached the first floor, the technician was already downstairs with me. Based on that timeline, he could not have been inside our unit for more than a couple of minutes. I do not understand how an entire unit with a widespread infestation could have been thoroughly inspected and treated in that amount of time. I have repeatedly expressed my concerns to the leasing office, but the only solution offered has been to send pest control back yet again. No meaningful alternative, cleaning assistance, rent or fee consideration, or other accommodation has been offered despite the continued disruption. I work from home and have meetings and important deadlines throughout the day. I cannot repeatedly vacate my home for four hours only to have someone seemingly spend a couple of minutes inside without resolving the problem. It's already been 2 times and there's no improvement and quite frankly, it seems like a "sucks it's your problem, but thankfully it's not mine" type of mentality. At this price point, we expected a much higher level of service and responsiveness. Instead, we feel that once our lease was signed and our rent was secured, our concerns stopped being treated with urgency. We are not asking for special treatment--we are asking for effective pest control and a management response that reflects the amount residents are paying to live here. I've had a PLETHORA of ants crawling on my back, face, etc. and I'm over it. Based on our experience during our first month, I strongly recommend that prospective residents ask detailed questions about pest problems and how management handles unresolved maintenance issues before signing a lease. I sincerely hope management takes meaningful action to resolve this situation, and I will update this review if the problem is properly addressed.

I was never late on my rent because my payments were set up on autopay. What is frustrating is that whenever management wants money from you, they have no problem texting, calling, and emailing repeatedly. But when it comes to communicating important information that affects you financially, that same level of communication seems to disappear. During my last year there, I was charged an additional $265 per month for a month-to-month rate. Not once did management have the courtesy to call or email me to clearly explain why I was suddenly being charged hundreds of dollars more every month. After living there for five years and consistently paying my rent, I expected much better communication. The amenities were another disappointment. The bowling alley was constantly out of service, the pool was old, and other equipment and amenities seemed to work one day and be broken the next. You are paying for amenities that you cannot consistently use. I also went through an extremely disturbing incident while living there when someone fell from a balcony and landed on my patio and died. Despite how traumatic that experience was, I never caused problems for management or used it as a reason to complain about the property. At one point, I asked about transferring to a two-bedroom apartment. Management told me there was only one available and that I could only see it on a Friday. I waited a week, called that Friday morning to confirm my appointment, and suddenly I was told the apartment had already been rented. How does that happen when I was specifically told to wait until Friday to see it? In hindsight, I am very glad I did not transfer into another unit there. That same day, I gave management verbal notice that I would be moving out. They asked me to submit the notice through their portal, but, as happened often, the portal was not working. I ended up sending the notice directly by email. During my final week, I contacted management to make sure there was nothing else I needed to do before moving. I was then told that they supposedly had no record or knowledge that I was leaving and wanted to charge me for an additional full month. I had already committed to and was paying rent at my new place. I had to escalate the situation to higher management just to get the additional charge reduced. Even after escalating it, I still ended up paying for approximately 10 extra days that I did not expect to pay. Now, after moving out, they are asking me for even more money for cleaning, after already using my entire $500 security deposit. I expected to receive at least part of my deposit back, or at the very least walk away owing nothing more. I originally did not want to post a negative review after living there for so many years. However, after receiving repeated communications asking for more money, I feel other people considering The Marke should know what my experience was like. After five years as a resident who paid rent on time, I expected basic communication, reasonable treatment, and some level of appreciation for being a long-term tenant. Instead, my final experience was stressful, expensive, and extremely disappointing. I would not recommend The Marke to anyone looking for a place to live.

If you're considering living at Bloom Apartments, ask detailed questions about the guest parking…read moresituation before signing a lease. In my opinion, it is one of the biggest drawbacks of living here. The building has only one designated guest parking space for approximately every 11 apartments, despite management acknowledging there isn't enough guest parking and that there is virtually no alternative parking nearby. Because the building is secure and there are no surrounding businesses that would attract outside parking, virtually every vehicle parked there belongs to either a resident or a legitimate guest. The reality is that you cannot count on being able to have guests over. The odds of finding an available guest parking space are extremely low, so you can't realistically invite friends or family over expecting they'll have somewhere to park. Some residents have even resorted to parking in the guest spaces themselves just to keep their own assigned space available for an expected visitor later. That tells you how impossible the guest parking situation has become. What makes this even more frustrating is that the property reserves several parking spaces for prospective residents touring the building. Those spaces are often empty, yet if a guest parks in one because the guest parking is full, management will promptly have the vehicle towed--without warning. Retrieving the car can cost around $600, and the towing yard is about 25 minutes away. When I asked what residents are supposed to do when guest parking is full, the only solution offered was to pay for an additional parking space rather than providing a reasonable accommodation for guests. I understand that parking rules are necessary, but designing a building with inadequate guest parking and then relying on expensive towing instead of finding practical solutions creates an unnecessarily stressful experience for residents and their visitors. If having friends or family visit your home is important to you, this is something you should seriously consider before leasing at Bloom Apartments Unfortunately, the Bloom only
