I wanted to try something new and Ninety-Two didn't disappoint! The barista I met when entering was super sweet and tried to help me right away. Since it was my first time I told her she could finish the orders she was working on. I ordered just some simple toast with honey butter (great) next time I'll add the jam also. And then I ordered 2 pastries to go and a Rice Krispie treat also. I chose to go with a latte that had maple and cinnamon in it (sorry forgot the name) and went with almond milk. The milk they use truly is great it was creamy and made just right. Not a long wait. The whole cafe is set up super well, lots of spaces to meet up or to study. They were busy so finding a spot to part was the hardest part of the experience. Definitely will be going back again. read more

I have been a bit of a regular at Ninety-Two these days because it is the best place on this side of town to sit for a while to study and work. The cafe is spacious and even when it's busy I have always found a place to sit - usually in a far back corner. There are outlets here and there - always right where I need them. There is also outdoor seating for those nicer days. Phone signal isn't strong in here, I guess because of the composition of the building or location or something. I prefer to use my hotspot instead of public WiFi (which they have, for free, by the way) but the signal strength usually slows me down. The counter staff have always been super friendly, approachable, and patient. I am not a coffee drinker, but rather an avid tea drinker. They have a whole four tea options and I do understand that it's not exactly their focus. (Dare I say, not their cup of tea?) I do like the options they offer but would very much like to see a green tea offering on their menu, even if it's just regular old Jasmine. (But hey management if y'all are reading my review, gunpowder green is a solid winner!) The food offerings include a wide array of sandwiches and soups plus baked goods that even feature at least one gluten free option. I've never found anything to be of poor quality in the food, either, just a tad on the pricier side. Generally I just get a drink and hang out for a couple hours. When you order, they take your name and you can go find a seat. They call your name on a speaker system so you will definitely hear when it's ready. The only other improvement I could see would be to have the place open later as I lately find myself working past 5pm into the evening. read more

"Christian" establishment where employees don't know federal law. I've been to 92 with my service dog several times. Today a staff member demanded that I prove my service dog's legitimacy; I showed her the ADA FAQ about scam certifications. When I asked about the military discount, she demanded to see my ID. I explained to her that it was raining outside and showed her a photo of me in uniform. She grudgingly gave me the discount. Why pay for over-priced coffee if it comes with rude, inept service? Awesome coffee spot, great bakery, and food. This place saved me, I was able to get my morning coffee and some provisions to make my day great. The hotel that I stayed in locally was supposed to have hot breakfast which ended up being garbage and their coffee sucked, so this is where I went. Went around 11 am which mean that the restaurant was very busy, but it was worth the wait! The two real standout dishes were the Caprese Avocado Toast, and the French Breakfast. The Caprese Avocado Toast was super refreshing, and the French breakfast had a wide variety of different options and types of bread, which was lovely. When you order it you get to choose three different toppings to add, and all seem great. Staff was consistently helpful and kind. One issue, and the only reason it doesn't get a full 5 stars is that the coffee was only alright. Which is a shame since it seems like a wonderful place to study. This is the sandwich spot I recommend to non-locals. It is pricey, and some of the food and drink items are just okay. I agree with other reviewers who say that the coffee isn't as good as it was originally. However, the service is almost always great and it's such a cute and unique space. I also like the fresh fruits and vegetables that are available here. Be sure to grab a French themed baked good on your way out. Great breakfast place. My wife and I placed our orders quickly on our Saturday early morning visit without a wait. Sat outside in the shade in the nice front patio. I enjoyed my Toastie breakfast sandwich with an added poached egg. Bread was really nice and crunchy and the tomato added nice flavor to the bacon and cheese mix. The Avocado toast was excellent as well. The balsamic nicely balanced the creaminess of the avocado. The chocolate croissant had a nice sweet ending to our savory breakfast. Great service too. We might have gone five stars on this place had they not been out of the cream cheese danish and the lemon blueberry scones.... 92 is a fantastic spot for breakfast lunch or just coffee! While their coffee beans are not quite that of a coffee roaster they are still great. I love all of their sandwiches and baked goods. They use very high quality ingredients which is super important to me. I have always had good service, although occasionally it can take a while to get my food. I love the aesthetic of the place and is very well decorated. My only compliant is that everything is served in paper or plastic. I wish I could drink out of a mug and use real forks and plates. read more

This place is amazing! We came down from Colorado to visit family and had looked up some bakeries and decided to try Ninety-Two Bakery & Cafe, and we are so happy that we did. We tried the s'mores croissant, red white and blue danish and the brown butter chocolate-chip cookies. It was all delicious but the brown butter chocolate-chip cookies stole the show! So much so that we stopped back by on the way home and bought all they had. Sydney and the rest of the crew were fantastic and provided excellent customer service. LOVED THIS PLACE!! Me and my boyfriend tried out this cafe yesterday morning as it looked super cute/good online. The Cafe exceeded our expectations!! Honestly sitting in this restaurant made me feel like i wasn't even in lubbock anymore- which is a very good thing. Not only was the atmosphere amazing as the restaurant is decorated in a french cafe theme, the food, pastries and drinks were equally amazing. The customer service that we experienced was also some of the best in Lubbock. The young lady who took our order was very sweet and kind when she took our order and helped answer all of our questions. I also saw her interacting with a little girl who's parents sent her up to order a pastry and had never seen such a pure and sweet interaction before. The prices are SUPER reasonable!! the most expensive thing on the menu was their croqué madame at $10. If you order tea it comes out with a set up- teapot and teacup on a wooden tray (pictured). This place was just so perfect and a great escape from the usual Lubbock atmosphere. I would highly recommend!!! read more
