Can I have your attention please! This is the best bakery and cafe I have ever been to in Lubbock. The pastries are divine and I am having dreams about the Willow Club. Also I normally don't go for pumpkin spice lattes, but they convinced me and my expectations were more than exceeded. Everything was served fresh and piping hot. My mouth is watering just writing this review. If you need a new place to try and get some work done. Ninety-Two Bakery & Cafe is very spacious and clean. They have many accommodations such as outlets, USB ports and even the pads you can set your phone on top of to charge itself. This place is amazing! We came down from Colorado to visit family and had looked up some bakeries and decided to try Ninety-Two Bakery & Cafe, and we are so happy that we did. We tried the s'mores croissant, red white and blue danish and the brown butter chocolate-chip cookies. It was all delicious but the brown butter chocolate-chip cookies stole the show! So much so that we stopped back by on the way home and bought all they had. Sydney and the rest of the crew were fantastic and provided excellent customer service. I am so happy we found Ninety-Two and we will make it a point to always visit when we're in town. Thanks Again to Sydney and staff for making our visit unforgettable! Found this cute cafe scrolling though Yelp and decided to give it a try! Was very impressed and excited with the food we were met with. Super yummy and fresh food. We got the pick 2 with willows club and loaded baked potato soup which was so fantastic! Been coming to this cafe since they opened, and I will say it seems in the last year or so they've prioritized aesthetics over quality. They used to have baristas who were trained in making coffee well and those are no longer there, so if you're expecting quality espresso go somewhere else. Serving sizes have gotten a bit ridiculous as seven dollars for a scoop of yogurt is quite egregious. I used to love coming here and even followed on instagram since before they opened. After studying the menu and realizing that the proprietor was (and is) serious about maintaining fidelity to a French country bakery, I began to better understand what they're attempting here. I must confess that I'm not as committed personally to this exact menu. Their strict adherence to a true, French, country bakery of perhaps the Provence region, while impressive, left some painful gaps for me. Somewhere in me, I was silently screaming for a simple scrambled egg, yes, one free of a runny yolk, a traditional Belgian waffle, and even just a singular piece of extra, extra crispy, thin (yes, even microwave prepared) bacon. None of these is available. The butter croissant was good but I have had significantly better in the USA (Chaumont, Beverly Hills, Manresa, Los Gatos, and Facele, Ventura). It wasn't as fresh, piping and flaky as the better bakeries I've frequented in the USA, but exists as 3 notches superior to Starbucks' wretched baked goods trucked in from Liberaland in plastic bags. Comparatively, for a town the size of Lubbock, and in a state like Texas, where food just isn't often a cultural priority, (when football is larger than life; croissant preparation likely isn't) 92 Bakery was a somewhat pleasant surprise. The largest complaint was and remains two-fold: the timing of the delivery and portions. The orange juice arrived a full 7 minutes before the croissant. The croissant came 10 minutes before the cappuccino. The whole concept of this sort of non-savory "dining" experience is to have all 3 (in this case) present at the same time, for that mesmerizingly synergistic culinary taste explosion all true foodies pursue. It's one necessarily imbued with sensitivity to food temperature. The pastry people need to better coordinate with the drink staff. This is a routine painful experience at Starbucks. But for a venue specializing in this "carb + coffee" niche, it shouldn't persist. Finally, the orange juice and cappuccino were both compact in size, seeming like an overall poor value. I look forward to returning, but will do so more as a study setting to handle heavy paperwork with a quality baked good and coffee, even if woefully delayed in delivery. read more

Passed by & was absolutely enamored with the signage, look & suggestion of upscale bakery, luncheon, deli situation??? Unsure, my daughter & I gave a whirl on a Friday afternoon. Interior is impeccably shiny clean & ample table room indoors & a cute patio out front & to the side. The menu is limited which never deters my hunger nor my potential fascination/love for an eatery... I ordered the Turkey Harvest comprised of Vermont cheddar cheese, apples, greenery & an apple butter. My daughter chose the De Jeuner which is breads with a marinara & your choice of tampenade. We sat on the patio & plentiful little bistro set ups but, flies were killer out there to the point of people going back inside on a gorgeous 75 degree day. We remained hopeful & the cappuccino & latte were lovely, smooth with foam adornment & truly savored & enjoyed the beverages! They called our name for our food & spent 5 minutes at the counter as the lovely girl at the counter argued with the kitchen back & forth whose sandwiches were on the counter & what type it was???? Situation truly no big in the grand schema but, my sandwich was bereft of apple slices & bread is fabulous but, marriage of flavors fell short & the bread was soggy from too much apple butter. My daughter who is easily swooned felt the marinara tasted sub par & cold. Atmosphere is aesthetically soothing & pleasing but, food just not worthy of price point & possibly reassess the menu with objective candidates to taste? Uncertain about the fly situation as that is not an area of my expertise but, I know other patios in LBK mid day that are not overwhelmed with the annoyance. The coffee is good, although the lavender is incredibly floral to the point of tasting like soap. However, I've been consistently disappointed with the food. The croissants are really dense, the avocado toast has just the bare minimum amount of avo- all you can taste is the balsamic reduction on top. The lunch salad is $8 worth of lettuce- it had no substance (plus they forgot the baguette), and the veggie sammie was also very insubstantial- all bread hardly any filling. Can't recommend this place at all based on the food. Staff and building are fantastic though and a credit to their company. read more

I would never have expected to find such a cute little café like this in Lubbock! The atmosphere was amazing and insta worthy. The bread/food far surpassed any expectations I had. The focaccia bread especially was nothing short of perfection. It's also worth noting that there was a considerable wait before I got my food. They only opened this week so I expected delays as such. What I didn't expect was to receive a complimentary drink for my wait. The staff here know how to keep a customer happy when things are a little less than ideal. I was really impressed with this place! The decor is super cute. The menu isn't very big but we ordered several things and enjoyed everything we got! Definitely would recommend this place if you want to have a lunch date with friends or a nice little spot to study and have a coffee. Very bad food. Just bad. I read reviews about how good the food is and decided to stop because I was going through Lubbock. My experience was terrible. The baked goods seemed days old and stale. I also ordered a breakfast sandwich that for the price was small and depressing . The bacon was paper thin and seemed to be from a premade store package. The potatoes that came with the sandwich were also cold and stale and un-edible. I had even called to try to place and order and no answered, but when I walked in the restaurant was empty. From zero description of the menu items, to the lack of almond milk (just oat) to the cold pastries that didn't seem fresh and had icing on them (??), to my sandwich that had crumbles of chips as a side (bottom of the bag??), to the sad little pickle that looked like someone had already take a little bite out of it, to the Luke warm coffee, it was just a miss. We use to love this place but we went in the morning and they have changed everything. They are now using all disposable plates, silverware and cups. My hot chocolate wasn't even hot enough to melt the marshmallows and our pastries weren't hot either. The chocolate in the croissant was hard and my cinnamon roll was cold in the center. This place is way over priced, over $50 for three subpar sandwiches, chip crumbs and a tiny pickle slice. They don't have sodas so I got lemonade, which by the way they don't offer refills for. I will NEVER return to this place! What can I say about service, they are stuck behind the counter and can't bring you anything, they wave you down to get your attention. My husband and I always eat here when visiting our 2 daughters. The service and ambiance is great. The food has a great taste, but it has changed some. I love the yogurt parfait, but the size of it for $7???? It has shrunk and is pricey for the amount given. Also, going from nice plates and silverware to plastic gives more of a corporate Starbucks feel instead of a more upper end French bakery. We wanted to try something new during the holidays. I was told this was a great place to try. The atmosphere is amazing, however, the food and service not so good. We ordered and when they called our name I went to get our food, however, only half of our order was ready. I assumed it would just be a few minutes for the rest. However, it was a lot longer. The people in our groups who had already gotten their food had time to sit and enjoy joy and eat their food before the rest of our food was ready and the employee was very rude when I mentioned something about it. It seems like an upscale cafe but they use plastic plates and disposable cups. I was hoping to enjoy a hot cup of chai tea in a real cup. But that was not available. The food was mediocre. read more

When I initially came to 92 in January, I was blown away. The service was great, the French dip sandwich was to die for, and the ambiance was fantastic. Visiting again in mid-March, I am less excited for this cafe. The Ninety-Two Latte tasted good but was half foam. The french dip sandwich was cold as was the au jus it came with. My wife's broccoli cheddar soup was so cold that it was more like congealed gloop. When we asked to have it reheated, they did so to a middling 150°F which was enough to melt the cheese but lukewarm for eating. Maybe we are crazy but broccoli cheddar soup is supposed to be just under piping hot when served. The ambiance and service stayed the same which we are grateful for. I am giving a 4/5 because it is spring break and they could be having staffing issues. The food, all in all, still tasted good. It was just a bit too cold. I do want to come back and see if they return to the 5/5 they were in January 2024. read more
