After fishing for 4 hrs we cruised up the inlet to try our luck on salmon. Out of 10 of us on the boat I was the only one to catch a 24lb king salmon. After we got back to the dock they filet the fish for ya. If your looking to ship back your fish they will take care of all shipping for ya. We had the pleasure of being with Capitan Dave C. and Deckhand/first mate Ash. The two of them really made the trip incredible. We went with a group size of 7 plus a baby, and they were both insanely accommodating to the little one, let us setup a pack and play in the berth, even checked in on her when we were out fishing and she was sleeping. Tons, and I mean tons, of great conversations, hysterics laughter, and learning a boat load about the area, the fish types, everything under the moon, honestly. Both of them gave clean and consice rules, what to do, where to be in the boat, showed us how to bait, where to land the catch. Very patient folks, and made this excursion top notch. If you want to go halibut fishing, and want to have a good time, go with them. You'd be making a mistake to go with anyone else. Tl;dr: Awesome crew, awesome fish, very nice and would never fish with anyone else given the choice. All limited out, every one of us, with some impressive catches.

There were just two other clients, and we quickly settled in for a one hour ride to the hot spot. The seas were rough, and we ended up in the lee of the islands across from the Homer Spit. We quickly boated a few smaller kings, then nailed a nice 20 pounder. Deckhand Cody worked like a maniac to keep five rigs in the water at all times. He changed up the gear multiple times to pinpoint what the fish were hungry for. Three limits of winter kings later, we sailed back to port. If you are looking for a quality fishing trip at any time of the year, look no further. BAA will be fishing winter kings until April, then switching to combo halibut trips starting in June. I highly recommend Josh and his crew.

This may apply for all Homer charters, but it is probably worth checking. What was also frustrating is that about nine salmon were hooked but only three landed onto the boat, every time we were told what we had done incorrectly after the fish was lost rather than before the fish was hooked.

It was me my husband, our two teenage kids and toddler. My daughter hooked a halibut within the first couple of minutes of dropping her line at the first spot, which got us all very excited. We all really enjoyed ourselves, especially the kids. We went to multiple spots to maximize the amount of fish which we all caught our limit without any problems and also was able to hook a handful of cods. Being that it was a slightly larger boat none of us got seasick, which I was really concerned for being that we are very prone to motion sickness. It was a beautiful day on the sea and we were blessed with beautiful sunny weather. We even got to witness orcas, puffins and sea otters. Overall thank you for such a great experience one that we will remember forever.

Captain Tasha said that we could go and they would turn our catch over to the processor for us. We left but another in the party stayed to insure his catch got packaged for the processor. Out of 2 large Halibut, 2 small Halibut, and 2 large Cod we had 16 pounds of fish when we got to the processor. We called inlet and said we were missing most of our catch. Inlet blamed the processor for losing the fish. We talked to the other member of the party who stayed and he said that when he left that our catch was still on the deck and we had twice what he had (37 lbs). He thinks the Captain and Deckhand missed most of our fish, Inlet screwed up, but basically blew us off. Such a poor ending to what had been a great day. If you use them, do not leave your fish with them until you are sure they have properly passed it off to the processor. No integrity and poor business ethics.

Gary and Jonah were so helpful and everyone in our party caught a fish, the biggest being a 22 pounder! We never felt rushed at all.
