Ordered Uber eats and didn't realize the food was coming from this location. I live in Aiea and thought it would be from the location in Aiea. Go figure. I had to look up which location it came from because it was terrible and we have never had terrible food from the Aiea location. The rice was soaked with the poke sauce, probably because it was so flaky and dry, they had to load it up with sauce. Couldn't even pick it up with my chopsticks. Speaking of chopsticks, they gave us no utensils, nor did they give shoyu or wasabi. The ahi on the nigiri was spoiled! I took one bite and quickly spit it out. It was nasty. The rice tasted terrible too (had a soap taste). The poke was decent but not the freshest fish. At least it wasn't spoiled like the nigiri one. Nothing in this bento tasted fresh. Do better, Kaneohe Ninja! UPDATE: 4 hours after eating his tekka maki, my son got food poisoning and threw up everything. I will be contacting the restaurant.

The guy at counter who also took our phone order has zero personality but he is fast & efficient. The softshell roll, although on the menu at this location, is unavailable at this Koolau/Hui Iwa location. The food is consistently good. Prices remain decent. Service is fast but not always friendly.

Yummmmm when hungry for some quick sushi on the go.. although you can dine in.... I ordered a unagi Bento $10.99 not bad for some sushi as sushi is not a cheap food to eat. My Bento was definitely fresh and delicious. The fat cells are definitely happy and satisfied my sushi craving. The wasabi was that hot rather mild the ginger was yummm if you like that stuff- which I do The place is very clean, dine in tables were cleaned and ready for someone to sit and get their feast on!! They have great customer service too Can't say nothing about the restrooms as I didn't visit that... My 4 rating is although the service and happy fat cells did the dance, I have a bias opinion for I have a definite must eat sushi place ... by far still the the best and fresh sushi.... also I like wasabi and bit more hot would have.... Like every restaurant I review with 3 or more stars = might be worth your visit. Enjoy some sushi!! Happy Fat Cells..

This location is in temple valley shopping center- right across from the graveyard. I watched people come in that thought they placed a take out order here but actually called the Windward mall location. Please be careful. Don't want to waste any businesses time and food during this pandemic. They are doing distanced dine in and you have to wear a mask. No temperature check. Still the same good food. My go to is the Hawaiian roll. I also love the udon if it's cold out. Will post updated menu photos.

A little light on the spicy tuna inside

I love being back home in Hawaii! I swear sushi is half the cost of the mainland and twice the quality. Even though they were a little light on the spicy ahi inside my Superman roll this time, I still recommend this place to everyone. Superman roll has ahi on the top and is smothered in a delicious sauce. They are quick here and the food is always delicious. Its a nice store in a shopping center located across from the Byodo Inn Temple that always has tons of parking. I used to go to the Ninja Sushi in front of Don Quixote when it was still in Kailua, but it's nice that they opened one right across from my family home.

Inside of restaurant. Take out only.

I was a little sad that my favorite server was not working. Maybe I'll see her next time! I decided on Udon. The broth is really good and warms the soul! I also got my usual, inari and an eel roll. Both very good! Would've had green tea, but it was late and it would've kept me up. The young servers working were all very friendly. I do remember when they were at the other smaller location, which was when I first discovered them. Good times! Mahalo again Kenko Ya!

I usually order their combination meal with butterfish, mochiko chicken and shrimp & vegetable tempura. Their butterfish is moist and has great flavor. The mochiko chicken here is one of my favorites and they give you a lot! I have enough for leftovers the next day. The shrimp & vegetable tempura has a nice light and crispy batter and they give quite a lot of veggies with two big pieces of shrimp! At our recent visit with got spicy ahi which was quite spicy but still tasty! The service is really good, with the servers being very attentive. I definitely recommend this spot if you're craving Japanese food!

It was somewhat busy, with a few people waiting for their orders, but my family and I decided to dine in. We ordered the Crunchy Maki, Spam Maki, and the Spicy Ahi Salad. The Crunchy Maki had cucumber, imitation crab, seaweed, and shrimp tempura, all coated with crunchy tenkasu for a nice texture. This was topped off with Unagi sauce. Yum! The Spam Maki was simple but satisfying with spam and seaweed. Also topped using Unagi sauce. The Spicy Ahi Salad came with spring mix and wonton chips topped with spicy ahi, along with two sauces on the side (wasabi mayo and sweet chili), which added good flavor. The food has remained consistent over the years, although the portion sizes seem to have gotten a bit smaller, particularly the salad. The restaurant itself is spacious with about 12 tables available for dining in. They also offer a good selection of bottled drinks and fountain drinks. The menu has a nice variety of sushi, udon, donburi, and salads, so there's something for everyone. One thing we appreciate about this location is that it's always kept very clean. Service is usually quick as well, as long as you avoid the peak rush times. Overall, it's a reliable spot for a quick sushi meal when you're at Windward Mall.

Great place to grab a quick bite before or after your shopping. Today I was a bit grossed out when the cashier handed me my cup for a drink with her fingers in the cup versus around the rim.
