Usually when I'm in the area I'll give em a quick stop just for some of my okazu favorites like their homemade hash and ahi patties, vegetable tempura, teri hamburger, and crab cream croquettes. I usually get some musubis or hand rolls for the road also just for good measure. They also do local plate lunches like chicken katsu, garlic and teri chicken, or if you're in the mood for a hawaiian plate with lau lau and kalua pig, they do that too, per order. They're located in a small parking lot off Kam Hwy in Kaneohe, shared with Kin Wah and Aloha gas station. This place reminds me of a fish market, I think they sell poke, somen salad, tofu salad, Mac salad and a variety of plate lunches, including okazuya. I have recently ordered 20 spam musubis to pass out at a graduation. I guess I didn't make myself clear when ordering so these musubis were all in a pan. Sometimes I'll get a spam and egg musubi. :) Their beef stew is good too! They have poke, musubi, hand rolls, fried foods, all kinds of different plates so look at it all! Atmosphere - No frills kind of place with all the food displayed and busy. It's bright and welcoming and they have a sign and handwritten and printed signs of all the food they have. Look around otherwise you'll miss out on something delicious! Service - They are on it and will make sure you get what you need. There are several people assisting so one person will stick with you to get everything that you want. Cost - Ranges because they have so many food items so things like musubis can be like $3 and then you get a plate and it's like $12 - $16. Parking - There's a gas station and other restaurants near them so you can park in that plaza parking. Location - It's next to a gas station and across from Koʻolau Nursery. Masa and Joyce is a tiny okazuya near the entrance of the Hoʻomaluhia Botanical Garden. If you're unfamiliar with what an okazuya is, it's like a Japanese style delicatessen. Food items line the counter and you get to make your own bento. I don't typically go to this side of the island, so I've never been to this one before. It had a lot of items that I don't see at my usual okazuya. I ordered the fried noodles and ahi burger. I really liked that this one had sushi options as well and I got a california temaki and some tofu poke. Another surprising treat were the pancakes! I've never seen those at an okazuya before. This place is home been coming here since I was little. Located in Kaneohe on the windward side. If you are looking for a quick bite with lots of variety, this is your spot. Located on the windward side of Oahu, this restaurant is one of my favorites. I love love their hand rolls which they usually have 2-3 types available. (Spicy Ahi, California, & Wasabi Ahi) They are super simple, but the spicy ahi is my favorite! They have several different types of poke. A few times when I went early in the morning, the ladies were so kind and to mix whatever poke I wanted. They have many different musubis as well. From spam, hot dog, shrimp Tempura, and so on. They have an array of different okazuya items and a menu with different foods, including Hawaiian Plates. They do offer inside dining and have several tables available for seating. The employees are always so friendly and so so nice just like their owner. When it gets busy, he helps out with the line greets everyone who enters. I really love coming here and would recommend definitely recommend it. read more

My husband works near here and often gets musubis from here so when he asked me to get a bunch for him and his co-workers the other day I was excited to try them for myself. The place is small with no seating. They have all kinds of different foods and then so many options of those foods. I was nervous when ordering our musubis because it didn't look like they had anymore but they were so accommodating and was able to make more and honestly, very quickly. I personally went for the Cali roll w/ avocado and they were so good! My husband and all his co-workers loved the musubis (apparently they are well known amongst them). Tucked away in a little plaza is this restaurant called Masa and Joyce. It is a total gem. We stopped by before heading to the gardens and were so glad we did. We got the musubi, ahi patty, and eggplant. The musubi was good, but the ahi patty and eggplant were next level. NThe ahi patty was super flavorful and not too greasy and packed with fresh fish flavor. The eggplant was soft and soaked up this sweet and tangy sauce that made it seriously addicting. Got the LauLau plate, came with a Lau Lau, chicken long rice, lomi salmon, and rice I ordered a corn beef hash croquette. Hawaiian food can be pricy and this was kinda reasonable. The LauLau was pretty good, the lomi salmon was good to mix with the LauLau. The Chicken long rice was a lot lighter in color than I expected it had more of a ginger flavor than a chicken flavor. I wish it came with 2 scoops of rice instead of 1. The corn beef hash croquette was not good, no corned beef, all potato or too much potato, I didn't see or taste any corned beef. Service was friendly and prompt, theres a small parking lot outside which can get crowded when Kin Wah gets crowded. But if you're going for lunch you should be able to find parking. read more

Pastele Stew was huge for $16.23 tax included, and delicious! The photo below shows how much food was left AFTER I ate! This portion can easily feed me two times, perhaps three. The flavor was on point with just the right amount of spice. Lots of meat, unlike the one sold at Zippy's. It also tasted a lot fresher than the one sold by The Pastele Shop, which really disappointed me lately by serving me sour Gondule Rice and old mushy Pastele stew. I do like the one from Fresh Catch, but their rice is mushy and their potato salad lacks flavor. I like my rice loose and fluffy, not sticky and mushy. Stopped by here after a beach day and so glad we did. Parking was pretty difficult to find. There was a line for parking and then a line out the door but it was worth it. The hand rolls were delicious, especially the wasabi flavor. Their seaweed is a little sweet which caught me off guard but I really enjoyed it. The sweet potato was cooked great and melted in your mouth. Our daughter loves sweet potato and so that was a huge treat for her. I love places like this because you can try a little bit of everything and it's all reasonably priced. Everyone working was super helpful so once we got inside, it was fast moving forward. Food was okay, layout and display was okay, but not much food options. I'm a sucker for okazuya.. and sorry to say but Fukuya and Gulick Deli still the best. I felt rushed when aunty was like can I help you, who's next... and then she ended up being really nice and friendly after taking our orders. I looked back and there was already a long line. I'm like "yikes! Sorry." No wonder they're on it and come off strong when you walk in. But like Fukuya and gulick deli, they have food warmers, the food layout is more organized, and they have more food choices. I actually had to ask aunty to warm up our food.
