    Mini squid luau plate
    Michelle N.

We usually grab something from here when we are on that side of the island. Love that they have plenty of options and most of the items we have tried have been really good ! Most recently we tried the mini squid luau plate which still allowed me to order some side items to sample. Thought it was all good. One of my favorite things from here is the California handroll with avocado. Price has gone up but its just something I always gotta get. Sashimi tray was pretty good too!

Update : The electricity went out on this Saturday & decided on Masa & Joyce! Place is always consistent & they have plenty of good help. Got a couple of crab hand rolls and a spicy tuna roll. So delicious ! Every thing is take out as they do not have a dining room . Ordered a chicken Katsu, value as the serving was plentiful with rice and mac salad! Love their Hawaiian food!

Excellent Pig Feet Soup, Okinawan style, in honor of the Okinawan Feastival that many Uchinanchu ( Okinawan ) owned restaurants are celebrating for the first half of September. Coming off last weekend's Okinawan Festival. Masa & Joyce Okazuya is an old school Japanese/ local-style delicatessen. Parking was tight this Sunday afternoon. They are in a small strip mall...situated off Kam Hwy, on the corner of Kam Hwy and Luluku Rd. I had to wait 15+ minutes but it was worth it...may be more convenient to call ahead but I had the time this noon. My paternal grandparents immigrated to the Big Island...before settling in Manoa. I can't recall the precise taste of my grandma's pig feet soup - she has long since passed on - but I think it was similar. This is a limited special...I'd rather have this than Goya Champuru...which they don't offer anayway.

A great find by the botanical garden. Grab and go and no table seating. Small parking lot. Quick service and workers are happy to explain their dishes. We got the Hawaiian plate- it was a great sampler of different Hawaiian foods. The kalua beef was juicy and not a single dry piece or soaked in liquids. Ordered the rice instead of poi, but appreciated that the option was given.

    Mmmm everything is fresh!!

You need to try this place when you're in Kaneohe!! About $20 for everything in our plate! It so was so good! Will definitely go back! People assisting were nice and didn't take long to order! It's in and out Hand roll galore! Delicacy foods!

Favorite go to place every time I'm in Kāneʻohe. I get pretty much the same things every time because I love it. I always get the mini squid luau plate which has squid luau, chicken long rice, lomi salmon and rice! SO GOOD and fills me up. I usually get a hand roll whether it's the California or spicy ahi. Sometimes I'll get a spam and egg musubi. :) Their beef stew is good too! They have poke, musubi, hand rolls, fried foods, all kinds of different plates so look at it all! Atmosphere - No frills kind of place with all the food displayed and busy. It's bright and welcoming and they have a sign and handwritten and printed signs of all the food they have. Look around otherwise you'll miss out on something delicious! Service - They are on it and will make sure you get what you need. There are several people assisting so one person will stick with you to get everything that you want. Cost - Ranges because they have so many food items so things like musubis can be like $3 and then you get a plate and it's like $12 - $16. Parking - There's a gas station and other restaurants near them so you can park in that plaza parking. Location - It's next to a gas station and across from Koʻolau Nursery. I come here every time I go to the Hoʻomaluhia Botanical Garden or I go to the garden every time I come here (haha!). And I will continue to keep coming here!

Hand rolls galore! Great place for a snack. I come here before work and I normally get 2 hand rolls and a Teri ahi patty. I can't come everyday because it's a tad pricey but when I want to treat myself it's Masa & Joyce's for breakfast!

Great quick hand rolls and masubi!!! Staff were really kind and provided a ton of options. I order some hand rolls to go so that I could eat it while I explored the local area. Very casual diner and everything made fresh

This place is home been coming here since I was little. Located in Kaneohe on the windward side. The insides have changed a lot over the years, we use to be able to sit down and eat but now it is a grab and go. The food is always so tasty and fresh, the staff is always so nice. I know they are always super busy in the morning but the service is always Today I just grabbed a few things to eat while at my boys football training. Gotta have my California roll and the ahi patty for sure.

one of my favorite places to get a musubi in kaneohe is masa & joyce. they have some of the best homemade-style musubis, breakfast plates, and service!!

    3/30/26 Squid luau plate

Masa & Joyce has some of the best quality Okazuya but it can get quite expensive! Service is fast and friendly, and it's a walk in, walk up, and get out kinda place. They have so many choices from fried chicken/veggie tempura, to sashimi and hand rolls. They have something for everyone. I enjoyed their somen salad and saba. I suggest coming earlier in the morning for the most choices as they can sell out the later you wait. Definitely a good choice to grab food before the beach or if you're just hangry.

It's in the food court adjacent to Target. I got the two combo plate with rice $20.30. You can pick two entrees from: laulau, beef luau, chicken long rice, kalo luau, kalua pig or squid luau. I got the laulau and squid luau. The plate also comes with lomi salmon and haupia. For dessert I also got the single scoop of Sweet Lady of Waiahole $8.40. It's warm kulolo with haupia ice cream. The Hawaiian food from this place is delicious. It's to be expected, since the original location has been around since 2009. I loved everything on my plate except the squid luau. Usually, squid luau is my favorite. However, they don't make their squid luau sweet. I like mine sweet. I just took it home and added brown sugar. It was perfect after that. Their Sweet Lady of Waiahole is a must try. The warm kulolo is so good with the haupia ice cream. Get this!!!!!

Bruhhh...10/10! Lol! I was craving me some Legit Hawaiian Food because on Maui, there is no…read morerestaurant anymore that offers it because the only one we had (Shout out to Poi By The Pound) closed during Covid. My Kaneohe friends brought me to Windward Mall to try Waiahole Poi Factory and IT...HIT...THE...SPOT (so much that I wrote that in all CAPS for emphasis lol). I got a refreshing Sweetened Mamaki Tea and a Combo Plate which included 2 entree's so I got Laulau (perfect amount of luau leaves to fatty pork) and comforting Chicken Long Rice. You have the choice of Poi or Rice but I got both because I'm a local girl lol. My friends told me at the OG location, the poi is fresh but what we got still tasted super good to me even though it may have been refrigerated. I got to try the Squid Luau too from my friends and it was DELICIOUS. I mean perfect amount of coconut milk to taro leaves with tender squid! If I lived here, I'd be getting Hawaiian food at least once a month lol! To end this onolicious foodie trip, my friends suggested the Sweet Lady of Waiahole (which they got) but I'm not a huge fan of Kulolo so I got the Tahitian Sweet Lady because I love Banana and it was the perfect way to melt and linger in my palate. It was Warm Banana Bread with the BEST Haupia Ice Cream. Yum yum! I'm getting withdrawals just writing this review. ***NOTE TO VISITORS: Stop eating American food you can get at home and please go get yourself some legit Hawaiian food to try when you visit so you can fully say you experienced what Hawai'i has to offer! I also would say that the price for food is a little pricier for my liking for the taste. The food isn't exotic, but it did taste good and their bread and guava butter were my favorite part of my restaurant experience! If it wasn't for the service, I would've given the restaurant a 3/5. Despite the long line/wait, the staff was actually really interactive and proactive with the parties they were serving, which we really appreciated! I didn't feel like we were waited long to get our food, eat, and get our check at the end, which was so perfect. It was a great first time at Haleiwa Joe's, but I'm not sure if it'll be a repeat for me! If you're in and want an amazing view for dinner though, this is great!
