Not a fan of this salon. The hair stylist was rude and made me feel uncomfortable. They need to work on their customer service skills

My rating is 3.5 stars. Last summer, I was shopping at Erin Mills Shopping Centre and came across a gel manicure special. It was a back-to-school sale. I decided to stop in and get my nails done. I checked in and waited by sitting on a sofa. Folks there were accommodating, asking whether I needed a drink. I was good. There was only one nail specialist working that day. She was busy doing a Brazilian wax on another customer. Luckily, I wasn't in a rush. It was nice to sit there and relax, with fairly decent updates from staff. Eventually, I got my nails done. The nails bar is at the back of the store. I had a wonderful woman who talked about her boyfriend, previous marriage, and more. My nails looked great. My Hairstylist Tara is the best!! I had the worst experience with cutting my hair since I was a child, and when I stepped in I had anxiety that my hair would be ruined, thankfully I was introduced to a professional!! I've been going to Tara for 3 years now and she has always colored cut and styled my hair to perfection. The colour is vibrant and lasts about 3 months before a touch up again, sometimes I would change up my hair style and Tara would discuss about it to make sure she is making my hair look the way I want. The service is great, and often you become friends with many of the other hair stylists as well. The price is more on the expensive side but if you are looking to get the celebrity treatment you will need to bang a few bucks. They make you look good but personally feeling more confident about yourself is really why its so worth it. read more

Great service and quality! Since I'll be getting married, I wanted to try the eyelash extensions trend happening right now! I wanna try a few places close to home to see which I'll like the best for my wedding day In comparison to my last one at "lash & brow bar" in Erin mills mall, this place was really great!! ... 1. All staff members were friendly and inviting. 2. The lady that did my lashes (Vicky) was knowledgable about the product and service... 3. She asked me about my experiences in the past...what I liked and didn't like... 4. Unfortunately she forgot her iPad at home which had pictures of eyelashes to choose from...BUT there was an employee that had her lashes done so I was able to see it on her in person. What I didn't like: 1. The tape she used to tape down my bottom lashes were some sort of super tape they hurt like a b****! It felt like she was waxing my hair off! 2. A few times during the procedure my eyes were watering like crazy. Some of the hairs that she put on were a little annoying. Overall Vicky was amazing! She's such a sweet person and nice to talk to! We were pretty much talking the whole time, which some people might not like but I didn't mind! And I'm happy with the results! It's been almost 1 week and it's still so far so good! Can't remember the exact costs for full extensions and refills but I paid $96 for full extensions which included tax and tip. The full extensions took 1 hour and 30 minutes. Refills take about 1 hour depending on how much needs to be refilled. read more

I really didn't want to leave this review, and truly don't believe in shunning businesses or people, but my experience with this place has been genuinely traumatzing that I even hesista making this review a month later, but gonna write it now. Long story short, they claim their "master" or " senior" stylist whatever their called is their top stylists... I truly believe their junior staff do a much better job than the Seniors. I went in for a hair color, with long blonde hair, dead ends at the very bottom only so I came in with the expectations for a color, possibly root bleach, and hair cut to end it. wanting to go from my dyed blonde from a previous salon to this salon wanting to do orange ish brown, the ladies at the desk said I have to talk to Charlie who's their master stylist, and he gets it done beautifully. The one time in my life I didn't look up his account on socials ( which btw his Instagram is private so it's like you can't even see his work unless u privately follow him which no client wants to do when they want to just browse their work) Long story short for my own sake of not getting emotional, I came out with purple hair, and I knew they messed this up with the color when they tried to gaslight me ( specifically charlie) while washing the color away, and out comes purple , and as he's washing the dyes off he's like " oh that's different... I love it! Your gonna love it" . Of course this was a lie. My hair came out with two different colors, the roots ended up being purple and the bottom being pink red.. Not even blonde anymore.. I literally started crying as I couldn't believe how badly it went, long story short charlie felt bad and tried to fix it after I told him I genuinely hated it and couldn't walk out like this. He DID try to fix It, but honestly charlie made it worse by dying my hair with 4 toners, and bleaching my roots 3 times within the span of 24 hours ( had to come back next day to fix the color since I was too upset to stay). Color ended up coming out horribly again, at this point I lost hope and I couldn't trust Charlie and his experiencd master skills to fix this. So we just proceeded to do the haircut, and for some reason charlie cut my hair all the way to my NECK. And others have mentioned this already, but for some god known reason, they cut your hair STANDING UP IN AN AWKWARD as position that the cut looks so stupid on you. A month later my hair now is fully falling out in CHUNKS because Charlie didn't care to tell me " hey maybe you should wait a week/ two weeks before we do more colors" or SOMETHING. But no he decided to go full blast mode on my scalp that I started smelling fire and my head on fire and burning I started tearing up and needed a fan to cool my head while waiting for color to develop. I'm a month post this experience and I'm honestly still looking awful day to day, my haircut is growing out so unevenly. And to tip it all off, the manager Julie did not make things better. Instead of protecting her staff and covering for their financial mistakes, charlie ended up over charging me and I told him I'm not paying for it, that he started to offer me cash from his pockets... I have Been put in such a uncomfortable position, where the staff had to pay me themselves and Julie just let it happen, instead of just escalating the issue to her superior, she would rather have her workers pay out of pocket for their mistake than just own up to it and pay me the difference back from the till and explain it to her superior manager.... Genuinely horrible experience where they gaslight you into liking ur look that u didn't ask for, AND overcharging without even explaining the charges before doing it.. like at least tell me before doing it and let ME decide if I can pay it. I have been coming here since highschool and I have never looked back. I was shocked to see I was the first to submit this business on Yelp as they are always busy! Now is a great time since they just got renovated, along with most of Erin Mills Town Centre. The owners have a few locations so you know they do well for themselves and therefore know a thing or two about running a salon. I personally go to Julie and have sent both friends and family to her because she knows how to cut and colour like no one else. I always get tons of compliments on my hair and she will always be honest about what you should or should not do! I have yet to get my nails done here simply because I hardly ever do have someone else do my nails. However, with these awesome new renos I think I will do my first pedicure ... ever, after my marathon lol I will update on the experience then! Yes they are a bit more expensive, but it's your hair!!!! I know most women understand that spending a bit more on your hair is worth it, I mean you can't wear a hat everywhere. read more

This is the first hair salon I've ever walked out of actually loving my haircut. Bianca was amazing! It was a pretty drastic change... I had my long hair chopped off and coloured. She did a fantastic job. I showed her some photos of what I had in mind... She made some suggestions and talked to me throughout the process, ensuring that I was liking how it was shaping up. Came in for an updo and was not impressed with the girl who did my braids. She didn't even show me in the mirror how the back looked. She said the first braid was worse than the second and didn't fix it. The first one was loose. Not impressed. read more

Called in looking for a specific brand of hair extensions. It was far for me so that's why I called in first. I asked them if they have the brand, the length and the colour to which they said yes and that it was $140. I double checked again before hanging up and the lady confirmed it was true. These extensions are super hard to find and I was happy they had it. I come in and grab it. The woman tells me it's $250 and she remembers that I'm the one that called in. I was obviously irritated and explained that I had traveled a long way for this. Not much sympathy was given and not even so little as a discount was mentioned to try to at least get the sale. I imagine that this isn't a direct reflection of their customer service and could possibly be just a one time thing, however, I am unimpressed with the way things were handled. read more

I used to love coming here and only here for my nails, eyelashes, wax and hair! i always went to Vicky she is the best of the best! The customer service at the front is terrible. they got some new blond manager and she is rude and disrespectful! I found out Vicky no longer works here and i was floored! i now had to contact Vicky and go to her new practice! Worse place to get your hair straightening treatment and the worse customer service imaginable specifically the manager My wife came to this salon to get a treatment costing around 500$ The stylist consulted my wife a night earlier and told her that her hair would be straight after a specific treatment. Next day my wife received a 4 hour treatment after which the result was a big fat ZERO Her hair looked exactly the same as when she walked into that door My wife who does not speak English fluently started crying and called me to come to the salon I reached the salon and then arguments started over the fact that my wife used "Hina" and never told them meanwhile my wife told them that she used "Hina" more than a year ago I told the manager that I would not pay $500 because there are no results and instead of showing remorse or being empathetic she threatened to call security and was extremely rude to me and my wife She called my wife a liar and was so rude I ended up paying 435$ for treatment that had zero results and walked out of this place Please stay away from this place and the management I am absolutely disgusted! read more

There is a promotion which says $80 for colour, cut, and blow dry. When I sat down and explained to the stylist that I would like my hair colour to be retouched because it's fading, she said that the $80 package is only for root touch up and it's $30 for full hair colour. No where on their promotion stated that. Classic case of bait and switch and very untrustworthy and misleading. Never returning. read more

We had a horrible experience at the Erin Mills location. The male and female managers should both be immediately sent to customer service training by the owner. The male manager called the store from his home and spoke to my daughter in a very rude tone while she was getting her hair done at the salon. He threatened to call security and asked her to leave the store in 9 minutes because they were closing the store. My daughter had not done or said anything to deserve this kind of treatment as a paying customer. She had to leave the store with wet hair. When I asked for an apology from the manager the next day he used profanity and said I have never seen you before and asked me to leave the store. He attacked my daughter's character and called her a liar. He also called her he and when we corrected him to say she he said whoever. The female manager kept interfering in the coversation and put her hand against my face. I would not recommend this salon to anyone. read more

Do not go to this salon!!!! I had a horrible experience here the male manager accused me of lying half way through the appointment claiming that he never agreed to correcting my $250 hair extensions even though HE DID in a previous discussion we had. He threatened to call security on me in a VERY profane way and I was forced to leave the salon with my hair still wet. The next day my mother and I came to simply ask for an apology so that others are never treated this way. When I was explaining my self I was accused of lying once again and was told to get the FUCK out of the salon. Security was then called on my mother and I. Both the male and female managers at this salon have awful attitudes and do not know how to talk properly or respectfully to customers. Don't go here if you're a man, even if they tell you they know about men's hair. They do not. They also do not seem to understand what "keep the length" means because, even though I stopped the lady to tell her to stop cutting, she insisted she knew what she was doing. So, I'm not typically the type to write reviews as I firmly believe businesses and employees can have their faults. But my experience at this salon was so traumatizing that I think this review is deemed necessary. I came to this salon because they offered me a FREE hair cut and colour if I agreed to be a video transformation model. He told me this video could open doors for me if exposed to the right people. When I met with Kali, he said he wanted to colour my hair from dark brown to a beautiful blonde and give me a nice new styled cut. I agreed to cut some of the length off, however not much as I'm not looking for a drastic length change. Upon agreement, we went ahead with bleaching my hair. No tin foils were used to prevent damage, and no olaplex to protect my hair. I've been doing my hair for a long time and this stylist used no precautionary measures to ensure a healthy treatment. As he washed my hair out, he proceeded to tell me that the bleach completely ruined my hair, and he had no choice but cut it off to remove the damage. I was in so much shock. The end result was a pixie style haircut with nothing left to work with. How could he have done this?! All for an unprofessional, tacky transformation video that looks like it was made by a kindergarten student. Even a woman who works at the salon came to me and said, "don't worry, one time I had a horrible haircut and it traumatized me too. You can always buy a wig." I haven't stopped crying since the day I got this done. As a "professional" hairstylist, one should be able to look at a certain type of hair and know what to do with it and the level of damage it has. He acted as if the damage from the bleach wasn't his fault but it was because there have been many other ways to approach my hair or just simply get a different model. I have never felt this terrible about myself and I get so upset every time I look in the mirror. I trusted this man thinking he would go about this professionally and respect my wishes. Now I have to hide this disaster with hats and hair bands until I can figure out what to do with my hair. I hope this doesn't ever happen to ANYONE ELSE! read more
