Came here years ago and found it was only OK. Now that they've changed ownership things have improved tremendously. Someone recommended their steak dinner so I tried their Delmonico at 2295. The steak was perfectly prepared. The potato was a bit stale and old tasting the way they taste when they're wrapped in foil and held too long. I'm not sure how restaurants can avoid this except to bake them more frequently. I would return. The biggest complaint I have in this situation is the acoustics of the building. If you go with a group, expect to not be able to hear them.This restaurant really should consider expanding your dining area or buying a new building one with more room for tables and diners. read more

I have eaten here since it first opened maybe 30+ years ago? It has been under new ownership the past year or two. They have given the restaurant a nice makeover inside. They have preserved and expanded the original Italian menu-- which makes me very happy. The lasagna and chicken parm dinners here are fabulous. (And all the dinners are huge!) On this visit we tried their perogies for the first time -- odd for an Italian restaurant but not odd for Luzerne County PA! -- oh my goodness, amazing! The app special included two GIGANTIC potato perogies that were like the size of maybe a burrito? They were sautéed in onion and butter. Soooo good! I gather they made these for lent but due to their popularity they occasionally offer them as a special. I think these were the best perogies I've ever had. I'm now ruined for enjoying 'regular' perogies. We did not have these on this visit but I can attest their wings and fries... also fabulous. And good pizza. The new owners have introduced some specialty burgers. I cannot personally attest to their quality but seeing others eat them and their reactions-- seems like a hit. Our only slight disappointment-- my spouse loves eggplant parm. She said it was good but there was an unexpected layer of ricotta between the fried eggplant and the mozzarella/sauce. And while tasty... the eggplant was lost as a result. She would likely not get this again. Service.... ok. They win you over on food quality not so much on service. The restaurant is clean... the bathrooms often feel like they need a little more attention. I think this is the best food option in this area, hands down! read more

The first time I went to Nino's was 20 years ago! I now live in NYC, but always make it a point to stop here for their spectacular Pasta Bolognese whenever I'm in town. I'm not normally a fan of red sauces, but their Bolognese sauce is PACKED with rich flavor. Although it has since changed ownership and has had some upgrades/changes over the past few years, the love they put in their food remains the same. Service was friendly, social distancing measures were in place, and food is always hot and fresh. WARNING: Their pasta portions are HUGE so be prepared to bring your appetite. Love it! read more

Arrived at 7:00pm, it's now 8pm and only one person in our party has their food, (and she's almost done). Since we discovered this place by accident by looking at the flood damage from their huge flood we never stop eating there since the service is great the food is spectular the decor is fabulous although they lost one of the best waitresses there it dosent matter there still making a lot of money and I fell they should be checked out a lot more by people this is problary a remote location in the country but this is a perfect pizza read more

after eating here for 14 years and never having a problem with ok decent food for the area. we received chicken wings that were over cooked. we did ask for them not to be over done. then they smelled burnt and had a burnt taste. we called and said would be returning them the next day. mind you this was at 8:30 pm and after being on the road driving for 13 hours.and not wanting to wait another hour for food and eat at 10 pm. now mind you we got 30 wings 1 pizza for 4 people. upon returning the wings 4/12/14 at 4:30 pm. the wings were taken in the back and this rude ignorant broad with short blonde hair returned with the wings. stating they would nt return our money. we were not looking for a refund. but told us there was nothing wrong with the wings. and the black on the tips were just bone. i own a very well established bbq company and know about food better than the regular customer. in 14 years and never having returned 1 thing and there have been some shit meals. the broad doesn't know the customer is always right even when wrong. well in this case we were right 1000%. so the lost a customer. and we honestly would not recommend this place. they only do well as there isn't much out here to choose from. Oh and before we forget. The blonde broad said you ate 12 wings out of 30.We were feeding 4 people so 3 wings picked out of 30 and we got a bunch of lip for it. read more
