For those unfamiliar, it's located just off Public Square in Wilkes-Barre, PA, right behind the old Martz Bus terminal. This small, cozy pizzeria impressed us with its crisp crust, satisfying cheese pull, and a perfect balance of flavors between the cheese and sauce. Fresh from the oven, it was piping hot, and the wait time was short. I ordered it as it normally comes--no extra cheese--and it still delivered plenty. Ray, a true Pronto Pizza fan, especially enjoyed the thick cheese and flavorful sauce. Best pizza I've ever had in my entire life. Listen I love a good pizza, but it's never my top option for food. After trying prontos pizza once I crave it often. The way the flavor coats your mouth is amazing. The service is a little slow, but honestly can't complain the workers are so nice. Went here for the first time this afternoon. First off I would like to comment on how friendly the people who work here are. I was very pleased with my experience here. The pizza is a very good New York style pizza. The slices are huge so you may only need one! There are many different denominations of pizza here so you will find what you are looking for. This is easily my favorite pizza, hands-down. I haven't ever had a bad or "meh" slice. Every slice has been amazing. I recommend their white, or anything with Alfredo sauce!! Plus, they have a penne a la vodka pie! The crust is crispy, and garlickly delicious. For lunch, they offer two slices and a soda for $5, and they have the best soda options, like birch beer or grape soda. The employees are super nice, and it's a convenient location, right off the square. I'd show you my Alfredo pizza, but it's already gone! read more

Waiting for 2 hours and still haven't had my Pizza been trying to call you without my pizza and you're just leaving me hanging.

I missed Friday's last bus to Philly. That meant spending one more night in Wilkes-Barre and that thought alone was hard enough to take on an empty stomach. I walked out of the Martz terminal and saw this place open, walked in and asked the lone customer if the food was any good. He had no words for me. His face was stuffed with pizza. I took that as good enough an answer. In any case I was already there and people know me as risk taker. The man at the counter heard my question and as soon as I turned he trumpeted, "We have great food here!" I believed him, but he was lying. I should've known better. By the looks of his products I should've known that saying that Pronto Via Pizzeria is great is a great understatement. Their ziti and sausage pizza blew my mind. It was like a dream come true. Make sure to stop for a couple of slices or call for a whole pie; they deliver! read more

Great place to get a nice thick slice of Sicilian Pizza ! The guys there are professional, polite and know their customers and always have warm and welcoming smiles. They have more than just pizza which is nice, the wings are always hot, juicy and tender with just the right amount of crispiness. And the soup, oh my god, the soup is make to order and might just be the hidden gem of this pizza shop. read more

Called and ordered a pizza. Was on my way from a distance and they told me at 3:38 15 minutes. At 4pm they called to see where I was and I said I was almost there, 10 minutes away. They could see by my number I wasn't from the area. They proceeded to blow up my phone while I was driving and following GPS. Then sent me a nasty message about picking up my pizza. My fiancee orders pizza a lot and wanted a change in what he gets but I will never order here again. Very rude. read more

Pronto has some delicious pizza and all for a great low price. They usually have a daily special some days where you get a soda and two slices for just five bucks. The best pizza they have that I've tried is the tortellini pizza. The pizza is decorated with whole pieces of cheesy tortellini. The first time I went there I had a slice of their plain pizza. The crust is nice and crisp with a crunch to every bite. The cheese was very good as was the sauce. Neither overpowered the other. It tasted just like the pizzas that I've had in my visits to New York City. read more

Ordered delivery pizza and salad. Told 30-40 min till delivery 1hr 15min still no pizza Called and was told on the way... I asked if it would be hot? I was told yes... Pizza delivered cold and no plasticware for the salad. I ask the driver do you have any plastic forks for the salad? He's says he will go get one for me but never returned! Being from NY I'm a little particular about my pizza. First and foremost the cheese should always be mozzarella. White cheddar really. And what is a tray of pizza and the onions I can take it. I was convinced i was not gonna find even decent pizza in PA. This place has restored my faith. An ex large is too big for the box. Score. The sauce is good nice and cheesy great crust. I never order from anywhere else now. Some of the other food was not so great garlic knots were a little bland and the cheesy bread was weird and had way to much cheese that congealed and was unappetizing. Pronto Via Pizzeria is one more reason why the Wilkes-Barre area is known for having such great pizza. A bit hard to find, the restaurant is located behind Musical Energi and next to the Intermodal Transportation Center. At only $5 for two large slices and a soft drink or bottle of water, Pronto offers one of the best lunch values in the downtown area - with such low prices the restaurant may get a little crowded during the afternoon lunch rush, but the line moves quickly and the employees working behind the counter know how to hustle; I've never waited more than five minutes for my order. If you're a night owl and prone to eating after the witching hour you may have already visited Pronto - they are one of the few quality pizzerias open late. During the summer months I would also recommend sampling Pronto's fifty different varieties of Italian Water Ice. read more

To be honest, I have only stopped at Pronto Pizza for a quick slice for lunch or a mid-day snack. But I have never been disappointed, and has been everything I could ask for- pizza was hot, fresh, cheap. (I have a feeling I should interject "That's just how I like my women" but I'll hold back on the jokes). read more

I ordered delivery. It was hot and on time. The service was pleasant. The stromboli is the best I've ever had. Lots of filling. The wings were very crispy and the sauce was very good. The prices are average an eel worth it. read more

My previous review was full of nothing but praise for this establishment.... But alas... It has fallen into the nepa "bad food" bracket, the original owners are no longer there and I have a general rule of thumb when it comes to food, 80% of the time I will not go to a restaurant if the person cooking.. Shouldn't be, there's Mexicans behind the counter, and while I have no problem with anyone cooking any kind of food... You should be able to cook it! The same way I wouldn't go to a Mexican restaurant with Jamaicans behind the counter. The food has fallen off pretty bad, the pizza is not what it was, nor the sandwiches or other hot food, which is sad because this place was great and now it's just turning into another mediocre nepa pizza shop.... I had a legit coupon from Restaurants.com and Dining Discounts.com, to order a large cheese pizza and you get one free. I called to see if they honored it, and the guy with a thick Armenian accent said "You got the wrong place!" I said I called it directly from the site and they are advertised there. He kept telling me it's the wrong restaurant even though he said it's in Wilkes-Barre. I told him that it must be false advertisement. Why would you have an ad for deals on a major national food site? I verified I called the right number and got the RIGHT place, but he said NO!! Said he never heard of this before. The "only" deal was 2 for $18.99. You either better pull your false ad from those sites, or you'll be fined for falsification in advertising. You lost many potential customers with your attitude. Another crappy pizza place in an even crappier location. Decided to try it here for once instead of going to Oz's down the street and I couldn't be much more disappointed. Food is low quality and old, not to mention right next to the bus station so obviously their major clientele is the gross people who come straight off the buses. Was at a job and we decided to get some pizza. First, the guy that answered was very patient and polite as i we didnt have good reception at the spot and the directions weren't the easiest. I was hungry last night at around 1 am, figured I should try this place since it was my only option that wasn't fast food. I ordered a large chicken wing pizza and a broccoli roll. The pizza was large, very generous with the chicken, had a nice kick with sauce. The broccoli roll was delicious very cheesy and lots of broccoli. Pronto Pizza has the best pizza from Philly to New York. Have eaten there numerous times and never been disappointed. Their penne pasta pizza is fantastic as well as the plain pies. go here for lunch all the time, usually get a spinach or eggplant roll. Today, I got the grilled chicken caesar salad & it was FANTASTIC. Hard to get excited about a salad but this one did it for me. I have honestly been here twice, the first time was lousy, but I decided to give it another shot, so I came a second time. Long story short, still just as unimpressed. My pizza really just ended up being a sloppy, dry, disgusting excuse for Italian cuisine. There honestly isn't a good thing that I can comment on here, I really am unsatisfied with the place as a whole, even with the other food that I ordered. The pizza is the best in the area. Its real NYC pizza and despite there being many pizzerias in the area, nobody comes close except Pronto. Their eggplant pizza is delicious! I was only disappointed once, but that was on a busy night. I guess they just messed up that night. The staff is always polite, the food is good, and the price is right. So I have been hearing a lot of good things about Prontos Hoagie/Pizza place downtown WilkesBarre, yesterday after sweating all afternoon last thing I wanted to do was make dinner, thought I'd order from Prontos. 5:00pm call, they tell me 40 mins and I wait... literally mouth watering waiting for the Roast Beef and Cheddar. 6:00 pm rolls around and still no delivery... call back, they tell me that they couldn't find Custer St.(a 12 minute WALK from Prontos, 3 minute drive in traffic), give them more detailed directions (2 turns off E. Northhampton St), just about 7 pm my stomach was beyond growling, little light headed and dizzy, getting pissed. Call back AGAIN and the guy who couldn't find the house didn't want to try again and they told me they were sending someone else who might know where Custer St is...30 minutes later I called back for the 3rd time and was told they are waiting for someone to come in that knows where Custer St is..After another 30 mins of waiting I called to find out where they were and they STILL didn't leave. I cancelled the order Ended up ordering Baked Chicken and a Pizza (deep dish) from Dominos at 7:20 and it was in my stomach by 7:40. What really pisses me off is that Prontos wouldn't have called for directions, didn't call to say that Junior gave up and went back to the shop, didn't call to tell me they were waiting for someone else to bring the hoagies and sodas.... Shitty customer service cancels out fair hoagies anyday. read more

Very good pizza at great prices. They will fill just about any request including making anything you want if it's not on the menu or tune in your favorite satellite radio station. Besides the food and prices, the ambiance is only mediocre, but is more than made up for by Bruno's stories about his climb to the top of Mt. Everest. read more
