Had a good lunch at Sutton's At The Wrike the other day - a cool eating spot in a former drug store on Main St in Graham. The servers are super friendly and it's easy to spot historic items in the casual interior. The inside walls have all kinds of Tar Heels sports memorabilia (certainly worth it for a serious fan :) the food was good and [IMHO] a great value, why overpay at a chain when a mom-&-pop place can do much better? I wish I could give this place 10 stars. Genuinely. I don't think you could beat this service. Not only is the food delicious, this place is a true local gem. My dad lost his denture today and Amy, the sweetest angel of a woman, dug through the trash (every single piece of trash) to try and find it for my dad. She was on her hands and knees trying to find this denture for my dad. Her response is "that's what family does". Located in the quaint small town of Graham sits this old time diner type of restaurant. Prices are very reasonable. Servers were very friendly and chatty. Food is cooked to order in the back, they have milk shakes on the menu but when hubby ordered one, they had run out of milk. He enjoyed a root beer float instead. My turkey burger was a bit on the dry side but the onion rings were perfect. Hubby had ordered cheese fries and told server they were over cooked (I thought they were perfect) so they made him another huge batch to his liking. A neighbor suggested this place and recommend the breakfast. It's located downtown so parking can be tricky. The inside was quiet, clean and inviting. They have a lot of vintage items on the wall and they sale old pop soda. It's a seat yourself style and they have tables and booths. The breakfast menu is small. Prices are very affordable and service was decent. The food took a while to come out but it's cooked to order. Once the food came out it was very basic American food. The kiddos got pancakes and they were huge and fluffy! Overall the experience was cool but not awesome read more

Ok we love going to Suttons but lately we need to improve on a couple issues. First we went on Sunday and it was really not great. There were a couple of girls working and they were moving non stop. The trouble was in the kitchen. We had a couple of orders in our group that were wrong. Granted they were quick to rectify the issues but it slowed down the group. The sandwiches are great. The sweet potato fries with the cinnamon butter is super. I would say go try the sandwiches and try the breakfast on the weekend and form your own opinion. As a fan of Sutton's iconic Chapel Hill location, I hoped I'd enjoy the Graham branch just as much. I'm happy to say I did! Sutton's at the Wrike is a no-frills sandwich/burger spot with a wide array of bottled sodas, candy, and homemade sauces, pickles, and jams for purchase. I went with the chicken cordon bleu sandwich and it was delicious! The grilled ham and Swiss cheese imparted a ton of flavor. The chicken tenders were pretty good, though a teensy bit overcooked/dry. The onion rings were tasty without being too greasy. My husband went with a cheeseburger and fries and really liked his meal too. The prices are reasonable - less than $10 for a burger or sandwich, side, and drink. They have cherry and vanilla syrups to add to your soda, and I'd be down for trying a milkshake next time I'm there. The servers were all very welcoming. read more

Sutton's drug store in Chapel Hill has been a fixture for nearly 100 years. A few years ago they opened a branch office in quaint and cute Graham, NC. The space they occupy was also a drug store for decades (Wrike's), and Sutton's paid homage to Wrike's by naming their new location Sutton's at the Wrike. Hence, the odd sounding name. Inside, you will find some very good food, an array of candy, and the largest and most diverse soda selection I've seen in my life. They have every imaginable minor brand bottled soda from yesteryear and today. If they still make it, Sutton's at the Wrike has it. As for the food, it is difficult for me to resist a Patty Melt, so I ordered theirs along with a hot dog All the Way. The Patty Melt was very good, with just the right amount of onions, a nice-sized burger patty, and it was grilled perfectly. Be advised that they add mushrooms and 1000 Island dressing to their version of the Patty Melt. Oddly, mine didn't have mushrooms, though. The patty was the slightest bit overdone, but it all still tasted very good. The hot dog All the Way was excellent. The bun was lightly toasted, the wiener was good, and both the chili and slaw were tasty. Sutton's at the Wrike is worth a stop if you're in the Graham area if for no other reason than to see their impressive soda collection. And you can also get a very good lunch while you're at it. read more

Sutton's is where it's at! My burger was cooked perfectly and the french fries were amazing. The sweet tea is spectacular and served in a UNC cup that you can take home. Service was outstanding. This is a very interesting place, nothing super special about the food but it is good and staff are very friendly. I was here with a local friend while riding around town. Our server suggested a burger and I was happy with it. Atmosphere is interesting with bottles of drinks and candy along one wall and models and such along the other. Well, my experience here went south pretty quickly. I came here on a Sunday with my coworker & it was pretty packed. It's a seat yourself establishment and we found a nice table by the booth. Our orders got taken pretty quickly and everything was fine. I ordered the single burger with everything except onions and pickles. Our food came pretty quickly and everything was great. The chili cheese fries looked amazing and the burger was huge. 1/2 way into eating my burger-a cooked fly fell out onto my wax paper. I inspected it closer to make sure it wasn't a piece of char from the burger and sure enough it was a fly. I absolutely lost my appetite. They handled it greatly and I didn't have to pay for my food. I just completely lost my appetite though. I doubt I'll return. read more

I placed an order through GrubHub. The order was wrong and when I called to explain that it was wrong the girl answering the phone said she didn't know if I could get a refund. I asked to speak with the manager, she puts the cook on the phone. He tells me the order was made correctly but it was not. He stops talking to me and listening to me. I hear him say "I don't know whet the f***k to tell her, you can hang up on her". When the girl gets back on the phone I asked her if he said they and she of course said no. She hangs up on me then when I try to call back she would not answer the phone. I have been to this establishment several times and I have NEVER had an issue with my order or the service. All it takes is one time for me to be disrespected and have issue with service for new to not go there again. read more

Came here for the first time & the selection was great on the menu. We ordered two sandwiches & fries -- both were very good & with fresh ingredients. I loved the selection of sodas & vintage candy. And the staff were friendly. However, we went for takeout during the pandemic, and no one -- customers, server, cashier -- were wearing masks. I think the lack of attention to public health & a demonstrated lack of concern for their customers was troubling. Might return but after the pandemic has subsided. This is a nice and tiny local restaurant. It is a relatively quiet atmosphere with soda pop decor and UNC memorabilia around. Candy on the shelves for sale and a little milkshake bar. I ordered Fried Chicken and Waffle Bites with fries. The chicken bites were really good and tender and there fries were standard crinkle cut. Syrup came with the bites and was really runny. Me and my mom were walking in downtown, so we popped in here to see what it was like. Amazing burgers, and chicken tenders. Kid friendly with kind staff!
