I have to write a review while I'm still on a pancake high (and I just had 2 bites). Okay let's get to the point: I think these are the best pancakes I ever tasted. They are huge (1 is probably enough) and amazingly fluffy and thick, but still light and airy? Just perfection. The tots were perfectly crisp, much yummier than the usual breakfast diner hash browns. The toast was also amazing, I dunno how, but perfectly buttery. My Western omelette was fine, nothing amazing but still a good omelette. I was disappointed that their biscuit oven was broken, so I didn't get to try that. Service was super friendly and the tables and chairs were comfy. Prices were very reasonable (my kids way over-ordered). We'll definitely be back sometime to try their ice cream and desserts, they look really good. read more

We met our family halfway to have a celebration lunch for my brother's birthday. An unassuming building, but once inside you're greeted by a mouthwatering aroma of homemade food and a friendly, welcoming staff. We all ordered burgers, which were mentioned in reviews. They did not disappoint! Very fresh, perfectly cooked angus burgers with well portioned sides made our lunch really special. It gave us a cozy place to visit and catch up. On top of the great food and welcoming atmosphere, our very helpful, professional and friendly server shared the same birthday as my brother! After a delicious piece of Hershey cake and a rousing round of "Happy Birthday!!" We were on our way, happy to have found such a sweet cafe for our lunch! read more

We don't go as much because the menu is small and never changes. Breakfast is good, staff is friendly . But the lunch/dinner menu I think needs an update. Daily specials would help! The restaurant is small but quaint. Sometimes there is a wait. Locals love this place. read more

This is a nice and welcoming place to go. My friend and I went here for lunch and were promptly greeted on arrival. The owners were incredibly jovial and the atmosphere is warm and bright. We each had different fried fish lunches and also got some cake to go. The cake was super tasty. The food I believe is drawn from local sources and so that's great. One drawback to this place is location. It's pretty far outside of town and not conveniently located next to other businesses. However, it was worth the drive. read more

My daughter and I wanted to go somewhere new for lunch yesterday, and going to this little out of the way place fit the bill. The food was not bad by any means, but what we tried was just very average. I wish I could say that it is worth driving so far out of the way, but that's just not the case. Just Average. Off the beaten path and decided to drive a bit farther to try. Really cute place and it was clean. Had breakfast and the food was "meh". Out of biscuits (several customers were trying to order too! Got white toast. Really thin, cold and soggy. Bacon was cold over greasy crunchy pieces (not even full slices of bacon) that had obviously been precooked and sat at the bottom of a pile. Tater tots were fine but hash brown or fried potatoes would have been better. Pancake was cold, and too dense. Eggs were good, but didn't see a note about the egg surcharge till you had to pay. Should have been posted before a person orders. I hope they make improvements and succeed. There are better places for an inexpensive breakfast. read more

I was driving back roads from Raleigh to Burlington and spotted The Mason Jar Cafe. I decided to stop in for lunch. The owner was just lovely, taking the time to chat with every customer. Waitstaff was super friendly and attentive. I ordered coffee, chicken salad sandwich with bacon, and fries. The waitress made a fresh pot of coffee for me. The food came out quickly. The chicken salad is homemade and not drowning in dressing - it was very good. Veggies were crisp and cold, bacon was cooked to perfection. The thick white bread was toasted and buttered... mmm! The crinkle cut fries were hot, crispy on the outside, and fluffy inside. And, the ranch dressing is homemade. I was super surprised to see charging stations for electric vehicles! Went here for breakfast and was not disappointed. The menu is traditional & simple but they do it well. Had 2 fried eggs with home fries and a fresh biscuit along with an egg sandwich with bacon on a biscuit and a side of home fries. Also had 1 cup of coffee. Bill was EXTREMELY reasonable. Stumbled upon after learning that Reverence Farms before this went out of business, turned the restaurant into a store for a short time then out of business all together. A much needed restaurant on this stretch of road will do fine as long as both customers and owners hang tough. Great job. Need more farm to table ! read more

My 'Kids' recently relocated to Cane Creek, Snow Camp. I spent the day with Mommy, Daddy and my 1 month old grandson. Came in from Chapel Hill hungry. We heard great things from their Neighbors... you should check out Mason Jar Cafe. Found their menu online and well... I went NUTS! Double order of catfish with 2 side (cole slaw, the best. Hushpuppies, yummm, the fries were crispy). BBQ pulled pork, a Triple Salad... a what? YESSSS, perfect egg salad, tuna and chicken salad HOMEMADE! Oh you can tell! 2 slices of Hershey Cake with amazing frosting. This was my order-to-go. Then I got there... my first time, remember. COWBOY BITES? Wait... jalaoen, cream cheese, bacon and CORN balls fried. GENIUS! Wait... HOMEMADE ICE CREAM! Yes... I added into my order for the Family. I cannot find such love in my neck of the woods. The NICEST PEOPLE... patrons packed the restaurant and this was after the normal lunch hour. The health grade was a 96.5 and that ticked me off as the restaurant IS IMMACULATE. The sweetest woman who rang up our order wasn't too happy either and we agreed that was an injustice. Oh did I mention I got a slice of homemade zucchini bread WITH THE TRIPLE SALAD. Sometimes people post reviews and they're pretty negative. If that's their experience I appreciate honesty. HONESTLY... IF YOU HAVE NOT DINED IN OR TAKEN OUR FROM THE MASON JAR CAFE... get in your car tomorrow and Friday and the next day because their menu is so varied there's something for everyone. Just expect when you arrive and see the Specials... you're ordering them too. Love these folks. Hope the Owners remember my coming in today. They'll be seeing me plenty. So grateful.
