    Paneer Tikka Masala

I had to update my review based on my experience on Friday, 09/12. My friend had gotten there 20-25 mins before me, but when I got there, he still hadn't been even asked if he wanted to order anything. I had to usher over the staff to order something and had to constantly usher them everytime we needed something. The service isn't just bad, it's awful. The food is spectacular, but the service is awful given there's only a couple of tables in the entire restaurant too... I wanted to order another dish but got tired of the awful service and just went with our original order. Truly unacceptable experience

    Suddenly closed

We made a reservation for a birthday dinner at 1pm and showed up on time to find a hilarious note on the door. (See photo). Is this location closing? Kind of odd. It's by far the best of its kind in northwest Philly so I hope it stays open

Outstanding Indian restaurant, now at this new location right on Germantown Avenue in Chestnut Hill. Perhaps it's better known as a take-out place, but we stopped in for lunch on a weekday, and we pleased to find such an attractive and comfortable dining room. The menu is quite extensive, with a sizeable vegetarian section - no surprise there - but also quite a variety of meat and fish/seafood choices. We weren't sure about ordering two entrees just for lunch (too much food?), so we stayed with two appetizers plus an order of Naan. The Chili Chicken and Chili Paneer were both excellent choices, and with the naan, an adequately filling lunch. My deputy Yelper praised the chicken as excellent. The dishes were distinguished by the reliance on fresh herbs in the sauces. We specified a roughly "medium" spice level, and it was perfect. Reasonably attentive, friendly staff. We will surely be back.

Loved everything about this restaurant! The service was so friendly, helpful and attentive. The food was great. The ambiance is very pleasant. I didn't take pictures of my food because I wasn't planning to write a review in advance but we had such a nice and yummy meal I felt compelled to write a review in appreciation.

I've never had a bad experience at Nirvana! The food is exceptional, portions are generous, and service is quick. The restaurant feels very cozy and homey. My favorites are the chicken tikka masala, mango lassi, and all the different varieties of naan!

Delicious and the price to quantity ratio was great. Especially loved the chicken biryani, was so colorful and tasty, really good price for the amount. The service was good and it was a very small relaxing room. We ordered medium spicy and it did not disappointed- just spicy enough for us where it wasn't too over -bearing! Definitely coming back again soon

I cannot speak to the food or the place because I called for ingredient information only. They were very polite and informative.

Bad or expired food sent via delivery. Became physically ill and was up all night after eating. Potential food poisoning.

Ive tried their Paneer Korma and it's exquisite, I think heartier than Tiffin's tbh. It's a small shop, located in a rather overlooked section of Narberth as far as I'm concerned, so there isn't a ton of space but it's very chill and the staff is friendly. Definitely recommend trying Srinagar if you're looking for some different Indian food in the area.

We had been to Narberth once 2 years ago to walk and explore but didn't see this restaurant on that trip. Tried it last night, 8/7/26, for the first time and it checks so many boxes. First off, they were super attentative and polite when we called to make our reservation and our call from the car to inform of a traffic delay. The place is clean, except unfortunately since they do a lot of take out as we had observed, lots a flies get in and buzz around (exterminated 4 at our table during the course of our dining experience.) But don't let that dissuade you. They have a large menu, and customize levels to fit eveyone's taste. When trying new Indian restaurants we usually start off with basic dishes to get a feel from their cooking style. We shared two dishes: llamb rogan jost medium spice and chicken tikka masala aslo medium spice and an order of garlic naan (well 2 orders as we needed more and took some home... it was that good). Both dishes were exactly as expected and both for the most part were tender and moist. Lamb can sometimes be chewy. We loved our choices and dunked away into the sauces with the naan. Street meter parking and they are BYOB. We have booked marked Srinagar for a future pre-concert dinner in the area of the Mann Pavilon. See my food photos

Onion kulcha bread was very good and stuffed with a delicious tasty onion mixture. The aloo gobi with cauliflower and potatoes was very fresh, not overcooked and had such flavorful herbs. The bhindi do pyaza was a sautéed okra dish with onions. It wasn't quite as good as the aloo gobi. Lamb sag was in a good sauce but the meat was a bit overcooked and tough. As far as the service and ambiance, it was mediocre. Not very friendly and they were spraying cleaner on the next table as we were eating that had a very strong smell that interfered with me enjoying my meal. The mithai, the candy bowl at the door, was the highlight. It was a really unique mix of candied fennel Seeds with a little salt and I think candied rose petals. It was fabulous.

So we drove to Saffron Kitchen, thinking our chances were better. I like the ambience of Saffron. While my favorite Indian restaurant is a hole-in-the wall a few miles away, I was happy to be here. A waiter handed us menus that didn't include the prix-fixe dinner we came in for. "We have October specials. That's it," he said. "Nope, please check with the manager," I responded. And I was right. (Anyone coming in through October 25th might request the Restaurant Week menu, which may -- or may not -- be of interest.) The prix-fixe is $30 per person. Dinner was great, with leftovers enough for another meal. The appetizer was my favorite part. We each got a plate with a succulent chicken kabob and what's called 'aloo tikki.' (Was it potato? It was delicious.) There's a choice of four entrees, two being vegetarian. I chose chicken bhuna cooked with onions, green peppers, tomatoes, ginger, and garlic in a light curry. My husband ordered chicken tikka masala in a creamy, spicy tomato sauce. I thought his was better than mine. The plates came with basmati rice and a choice of either butter or garlic naan. You're given badami kheer, an Indian spin on rice pudding, for dessert. It's very good. I noticed there's a small lot to the side of the building, but nonetheless street parking is readily available. Saturday night Saffron had a steady stream of customers, many bringing their own wine. I'm happy to see they remain a byob sans corkage fee.

I love a good samosa and these didn't disappoint. I typically keep my foods from mixing but the gentle sweetness from the butter chicken with the spice from the gobhi aloo was so good together. I found the other location I ate at before had toned down the spice too much but the flavors here were spot on. I appreciate the large portion of rice that came with the dishes so we didn't have to pay attention to portions and didn't have to ask for more. Service was a bit slow bit our server was really nice. It was late when we got to the restaurant and he told us no need to rush, to take our time. A huge plus is that it is a BYOB. For sure I'll go back.
