The lamb kadai was delicious. I ordered mild and it was filled with spices and flavor. The lamb Rogan Josh had not much flavor but was still decent. The vegetable samosa was the perfect start and u could have eaten naybe 9500. The wait staff kind of ignored us but in a polite manner but made it more difficult to pay and wrap up service. The place was smaller but comfortable.

I visited on a Tuesday afternoon with a colleague. We came right before lunch hour ended, apparently the restaurant closes from 2:30-3:30. We walked in at 2:15 and we were greeted immediately. We were seated and proceeded to order vegetable samosas, garlic naan, shrimp tikki masala and lamb saag. All of the food came out quickly and piping hot. There were absolutely no complaints from our table about taste, all the spices of the dishes were on point! We're here in Philly for work, but will probably visit this restaurant again to try other things on the menu. The menu is very extensive. The ambiance is quaint and cozy. Also, we were given complimentary honey buns that were delicious. Try them you won't be disappointed.

This restaurant used to be Laxmi's (another Indian restaurant) and now it's called Manayunk Indian Grill and under new management. I was really sad when Laxmi's closed down as it was one of my favorite Indian food spot so I was eager to try this spot. We ordered about $100 worth of takeout: biryani, chicken tikka masala, naan, samosas... all spicy. We were excited. I wish I could give this place a good review but the food was very average... I'd say below average. The tikka masala was a bit too sweet and lacked spice and flavor especially the chicken. The biryani was a little better but def not like I remember it from Laxmi's. The samosa were okay with the chutney. We were very disappointed especially for the price point. We don't mind paying for good food but paying a lot for sub par food is just frustrating.

$20 for 5 pieces of lamb in the vinadloo... INSANE STUFF DO NOT GO. It's so sad when places scam you like this....

The food came out piping hot and the server was incredibly friendly. I will definitely be coming back here.

First time eating at this restaurant. It's located in Manayunk section of Philadelphia, not a huge spot but it is cozy. The food was good, and it appears to be family owned. Service was fine because I was literally the only one dining in. More take away was happening. Over all a decent place to get your Indian food fix.

Okay so if you are reading this review, then be aware that the the regular food here is good, pricey, but definitely good. Read on to understand why they lost the 3 stars. First things first, it's a great addition to Main Street and we have ordered from here at least 5 times, all the Indian food is legit great .... I am talking chicken Rogan Josh, Dal tadka, Chicken chettinad, biryani amazing !!! Indochinese is Top notch as well. But why they lost the 3 stars is because the Seekh kebabs are the ones you get at the Indian grocery store in the frozen section, I know because I have eaten them all and compared them side by side, and don't get me wrong the frozen seekh kebabs are good too, just not worth $15 ++ something when I could be getting them for way cheaper! Plus they did not come with the mint sauce. In case you have had these and love them, message me and I will let you know the brand name. I may be too harsh but a good Indian restaurant would not make a mistake like this...... maybe just not have Seekh kebabs on the menu ?!?

Overall, we thought the food was pretty good, but over priced. We ordered Chicken Tikka Masala, Butter Naan, Lamb Vindaloo, Chicken Hakka Noodles, and some Chicken Fried Rice. The food was spiced very well. The service was mediocre. Our server seemed inattentive and we were the only ones in the restaurant, a table of 5. She was young and had an air pod in. She couldn't even hear what we wanted to order, seemed confused as a worker. The paying process was confusing, and she stood right overtop of us waiting for a tip. It made us very uncomfortable.

Food is really tasty. Visited second time and enjoyed. And mango lassi wasn't too sweet! Enjoyable.

So we drove to Saffron Kitchen, thinking our chances were better. I like the ambience of Saffron. While my favorite Indian restaurant is a hole-in-the wall a few miles away, I was happy to be here. A waiter handed us menus that didn't include the prix-fixe dinner we came in for. "We have October specials. That's it," he said. "Nope, please check with the manager," I responded. And I was right. (Anyone coming in through October 25th might request the Restaurant Week menu, which may -- or may not -- be of interest.) The prix-fixe is $30 per person. Dinner was great, with leftovers enough for another meal. The appetizer was my favorite part. We each got a plate with a succulent chicken kabob and what's called 'aloo tikki.' (Was it potato? It was delicious.) There's a choice of four entrees, two being vegetarian. I chose chicken bhuna cooked with onions, green peppers, tomatoes, ginger, and garlic in a light curry. My husband ordered chicken tikka masala in a creamy, spicy tomato sauce. I thought his was better than mine. The plates came with basmati rice and a choice of either butter or garlic naan. You're given badami kheer, an Indian spin on rice pudding, for dessert. It's very good. I noticed there's a small lot to the side of the building, but nonetheless street parking is readily available. Saturday night Saffron had a steady stream of customers, many bringing their own wine. I'm happy to see they remain a byob sans corkage fee.

We had been to Narberth once 2 years ago to walk and explore but didn't see this restaurant on that trip. Tried it last night, 8/7/26, for the first time and it checks so many boxes. First off, they were super attentative and polite when we called to make our reservation and our call from the car to inform of a traffic delay. The place is clean, except unfortunately since they do a lot of take out as we had observed, lots a flies get in and buzz around (exterminated 4 at our table during the course of our dining experience.) But don't let that dissuade you. They have a large menu, and customize levels to fit eveyone's taste. When trying new Indian restaurants we usually start off with basic dishes to get a feel from their cooking style. We shared two dishes: llamb rogan jost medium spice and chicken tikka masala aslo medium spice and an order of garlic naan (well 2 orders as we needed more and took some home... it was that good). Both dishes were exactly as expected and both for the most part were tender and moist. Lamb can sometimes be chewy. We loved our choices and dunked away into the sauces with the naan. Street meter parking and they are BYOB. We have booked marked Srinagar for a future pre-concert dinner in the area of the Mann Pavilon. See my food photos

Rather than gobi manchurian (consistently wonderful here) we opened with vegetable samosas. Served with condiments, the pastries are excellent, the way samosas should be. Last time I noticed a family eating what looked like spaghetti. I'd never seen pasta in an Indian restaurant, so of course I inquired. They assured me that the dish -- hakka noodles -- was worth trying. So we did, with shrimp, ordered medium on the spice scale. I'm adding this to my repertoire! I suggested that T choose a second entree, hoping he'd go with my tandoor favorite, chicken tikka. Nope, chicken korma. This is where Srinagar loses half a point. The sauce is excellent. It always is. But the cubes of chicken were dry. (Tikka -- NOT masala -- never is.) 6:00 on Friday, prime time for dinner, people straggled in. While they take reservations, you likely don't need them. Where they make their money is with takeout. A steady stream of customers picking up their called-in orders. I always enjoy Srinagar. Good prices, nothing fancy, responsive service AND (what I like in Philadelphia) BYOB.

HOWEVER I thought they did a stellar job with sauce, which is what brought us back. I went with my second favorite dish, chicken korma. The sauce was great, the chicken a bit dry. Deviating from his usual vindaloo, T lived in the fast lane (ha!) and ordered lamb roganjosh. The sauce was excellent, described in the menu as "yogurt, onions, ginger and garlic in a traditional curry" but there's the unmistakable addition of cinnamon. And it works! Our appetizer, tangy eggplant, was crisp and spicy with a portion large enough to feed four as a starter. What made the evening notable were four delightful octogenarians seated next to us. I was tasked with the awesome responsibility of guiding them through the menu. My recommendations luckily were well received. The restaurant was practically empty Saturday evening. "I guess the waitress is too busy to come over," one of our new friends said sarcastically. Which brings me to the help. Our server, the same person we had last time, is noticeably timid, hesitant to effectively interact with her customers. The neighboring table agreed and continued to wait patiently. Nirvana is still considered a byob, though they may actually serve alcohol. In any case, they now impose a $10 corkage fee, when before they charged nothing.
