Needed some late night eats and called to see how late the kitchen was open. They said 9:15 pm, which is not bad for a Monday night. Fresh and tasty dishes came out quickly. Onion kulcha bread was very good and stuffed with a delicious tasty onion mixture. The aloo gobi with cauliflower and potatoes was very fresh, not overcooked and had such flavorful herbs. The bhindi do pyaza was a sautéed okra dish with onions. It wasn't quite as good as the aloo gobi. Lamb sag was in a good sauce but the meat was a bit overcooked and tough. As far as the service and ambiance, it was mediocre. Not very friendly and they were spraying cleaner on the next table as we were eating that had a very strong smell that interfered with me enjoying my meal. Food was delicious, but portions were not nearly worth the price ($20 for like a couple pieces of chicken). On top of that they charge you more than the menu price which is just a gross practice... Server was nice, but essentially was just a food runner. Ambiance could use a lot of work. We were the only ones there, which I wouldn't have minded if I didn't almost feel the need to whisper because it was dead silent. Overall I would not recommend sitting down to eat at this place at all. The lamb kadai was delicious. I ordered mild and it was filled with spices and flavor. The lamb Rogan Josh had not much flavor but was still decent. The vegetable samosa was the perfect start and u could have eaten naybe 9500. The wait staff kind of ignored us but in a polite manner but made it more difficult to pay and wrap up service. I visited on a Tuesday afternoon with a colleague. We came right before lunch hour ended, apparently the restaurant closes from 2:30-3:30. We walked in at 2:15 and we were greeted immediately. We were seated and proceeded to order vegetable samosas, garlic naan, shrimp tikki masala and lamb saag. All of the food came out quickly and piping hot. There were absolutely no complaints from our table about taste, all the spices of the dishes were on point! We're here in Philly for work, but will probably visit this restaurant again to try other things on the menu. The menu is very extensive. The ambiance is quaint and cozy. This restaurant used to be Laxmi's (another Indian restaurant) and now it's called Manayunk Indian Grill and under new management. I was really sad when Laxmi's closed down as it was one of my favorite Indian food spot so I was eager to try this spot. We ordered about $100 worth of takeout: biryani, chicken tikka masala, naan, samosas... all spicy. We were excited. I wish I could give this place a good review but the food was very average... I'd say below average. The tikka masala was a bit too sweet and lacked spice and flavor especially the chicken. The biryani was a little better but def not like I remember it from Laxmi's. The samosa were okay with the chutney. We were very disappointed especially for the price point. We don't mind paying for good food but paying a lot for sub par food is just frustrating. read more

I gotta say I was sold on their IG page where the food looked phenomenal. My bf and I decided to go after Yoga and the main cuisine was good that is why I gave them 3 stars. The salad was iceberg, tomato, carrots, largely cut onions, and shredded mozzarella cheese... No dressing but a few slices of limes. The tomato soup was ok, not tomatoey at all and the pakora was a little burnt but tasted good. We were met utter RUDENESS, IGNORANCE and DiSREGARD. The establishment was empty with no other patrons inside. No one approached us with any greeting , or extending a welcome. In fact what appeared to be family members came out from the kitchen are sat at the table next to us , the older Indian female actually had her back facing us. We took notice and left immediately. Okay so if you are reading this review, then be aware that the the regular food here is good, pricey, but definitely good. Read on to understand why they lost the 3 stars. First things first, it's a great addition to Main Street and we have ordered from here at least 5 times, all the Indian food is legit great .... I am talking chicken Rogan Josh, Dal tadka, Chicken chettinad, biryani amazing !!! Indochinese is Top notch as well. But why they lost the 3 stars is because the Seekh kebabs are the ones you get at the Indian grocery store in the frozen section, I know because I have eaten them all and compared them side by side, and don't get me wrong the frozen seekh kebabs are good too, just not worth $15 ++ something when I could be getting them for way cheaper! Plus they did not come with the mint sauce. In case you have had these and love them, message me and I will let you know the brand name. I may be too harsh but a good Indian restaurant would not make a mistake like this...... maybe just not have Seekh kebabs on the menu ?!? read more

When it comes to Indian restaurants around here, I've been quite disappointed by the flavors so am wary of trying them. I was pleasantly surprised by the food here though. Ambiance: Its a family owned place and is not that big. It didn't have much of an ambiance but decent decor and seating area. Food: We got the Chilli Chicken, Lamb biryani and chicken biryani, both served with raita which was perfectly made to balance off the spices from the biryani. We asked for it to be made spicy and loved how perfect it was. Service: I think the service can be better. We felt like we needed to constantly get their attention and spent quite sometime waiting. I have eaten some mediocre Indian food in the past, but this was basically inedible slop and I ended up throwing it out after a few bites. Both dishes tasted so, so bad. Weird sour flavors...Possibly some rancid ghee or something..? Even the color of the dishes looked off. Not to be a wiseguy but the spinach looked like baby diarrhea and korma looked like vomit. Always on the lookout for a replacement for my old fave, Kabob and Grill. This place lacks the Pakistani dishes, but they cover many regions and styles of Indian and even Sino-Indian cuisine. Beware of fraudulent charges! Food was great but not sure how an order of the lamb tiki masala (19.99), mango lassi (5.99) and plain naan (3.50) with tip came out to over 55$ that was charged to my credit card. They use a handheld payment processor so the only thing that makes sense is an employee was able to change the total amount. Sorry but I'm not leaving almost a 30$ tip on a 29.50 bill.
