I thought that I got all the nits, but they were still in my kids hair. Nit Picky uses a special enzyme that actually unsticks the eggs from the hair shaft. So relieved to find this place. It cost $100 for a full treatment and I got a mini treatment for $25. I also bought the enzyme spray to use at home. They recommend combing hair with a nit comb everyday for a week after service and using olive oil at night. The staff was friendly and knew their stuff - it took me hours to pick nits out of my daughters hair and I still didn't get them all. They do a much more thorough job. Sadly, i have nothing redeeming to tell you about this company. 1st: they qouted me one price and charged me 35% more (an extra $100 more). They have ignored our phone calls and emails. 2. They advertise the louse buster but actually dont provide it. THey said recently they chose not to offer it. 3. However, their speialist said she has never used one. She also did not spend much time (was in and out in less than an hour - we thought we had the issue solved but were not totally certain so this was more a piece of mind check/comb out - though they charged us nearly $300 for one hour. No equipment. The gal said she should work in the light near a window and then when the specialist came she said that was not important. 4. We were very nice, hospitable and sent the specialist with drink and food for the road home. We were thus even more shocked to not even have a courtesy phone call for follow up especially when we called and left messages. I was paying for a service and didn't need to play host too but i did. I cant believe the owner has acted so unprofessional and not even had the courtesy to resopnd to our questions and concerns. If you are thinking of a service, use the other one in the LA area that guarantees, though it seems like it will be more pricy it actually turns out to be the same price becaue nitpicky does a bait and switch. They also have no guarantee and are unprofessional. Overcharge, advertise one thing do another, explain one price based on time and then switch it to per person thus increasing the cost but not discussing this or responding to customer ...idon't waste your time or money here unles you want to be ripped off! read more

Treatment doesn't work. Rude customer service. We received treatment the day before leaving on vacation. We were scheduled to be home 1 day later than their guarantee/re-check policy. They would not extend their guarantee to accommodate us. So I effectively spent $347 for no reason. My daughter still had lice. You can do what they do at home. There is nothing special about it. Complete waste of money and time. Do your research and find their competition in town. It's worth it! I wish someone had told me. read more

I have to say what amazing customer service I received from Shannon. With Covid keeping many business operating at a minimum, we reached out via text message to schedule an appointment and she got back to us in a very short time. After connecting via text, we had a phone call where she answered all my questions. Never once trying to rush me off the phone. I made an appointment and hung up. Unfortunately I had to change it slightly and Shannon was gracious in working with me and my family to make two separate appts to accommodate our schedule. When we arrived at the salon, we were greeted warmly and she proceeded to explain the process that she would perform to check for nits. She made me and my daughter feel at ease. Came in off the recommendation of a friend despite having done a home treatment the night before. So glad we did because not only did they help to remove my daughter's lice and eggs, they also saw that I had it too. Had a minor lice infestation in the house, mainly impacting our boys. Called Nit Picky and talked to the owner to get basic information and instead got a 20 minute class on how to eliminate the problem. When I described the steps we had already taken, she said we were on the right track and actually advised us to continue with self-care rather than bring the kids in for her services, saving us $200. Who does that? Nobody. A salesman would have told us that the best way to fix the problem would be to come in and pay them to fix it. No shady sales maneuvers here, just good old-fashioned customer service and a genuine concern for helping people. She did recommend I come in and buy the $20 Nit-Picky branded metal lice comb, saying that the plastic one we had been using isn't nearly as effective. That seemed odd, but turns out she was right, we'd been messing about with the plastic comb for almost a week, but once we got the metal one we were lice free within another day or two. When I swung into the store to buy the comb, we had another 20 minute conversation about best techniques to use with the comb to be more effective. TL;DR: Nit Picky treats customers like family and does a fantastic job of helping people deal with a really stressful and disgusting situation. read more

Excellent service, provides great peace of mind. Made the hour drive to Temecula because I had a friend who battled lice in her children's hair for months. I didn't want to go through that, much less search for each and every nit in my daughter's long, thick hair. Going here was a big learning experience - you don't have to pick every nit out! You comb, and comb, and comb! Or you go here, and they comb for you! They recommend combing at home for 7 (or 10?) days following the initial appointment. During our subsequent combing, we didn't find a single thing! About a month after our visit, my daughter was very itchy and convinced she had lice again. We drove out again, and got good news - no lice, just dandruff! They had gotten 100% the first time around! And you don't have to freak out about your home environment. They gave lots of guidelines of what to do at home. Based on what they saw, they figured my daughter had lice for nearly two months, yet my son and I were lice-free. My daughter was recently sent hm with these lil nuisances, eek! I had no idea what to do, but all it took was a call to Nit Picky and the owner walked me through it. I ended up just going in that same evening and purchased a dyi kit to get my 3 girls going on it while we waited for our next day appt. Money was tight at the moment and I guess it showed on our faces because the owner was such a sweetheart and offered us many options. It was never a sales pitch, totally the opposite. She made me feel like she truely cared about our well being and wasn't pushing anything on us. I was confident I could handle it myself at home with all her tips. That should make any parent appreciate this treatment, it saved us at least $200. We are still working on the after care, and will be purchasing more of these wonderful and surprisingly great smelling products to prevent any more incidents. I rather spend on preventing it than have to go through this stressful thing again.
