I had an awful experience with the receptionist at this office. She was rude, and dismissive and spoke to me in a condescending tone, and seemed completely uninterested in helping. When I asked a simple question why didn't the office call me about the estimate before my visit here when they told me they would, she gave me a snappy answer response instead of a helpful answer. Customer service should be a priority, especially in a healthcare setting, but clearly, this office doesn't value treating patients with respect. To make things worse, when I asked to speak to the doctor to discuss her behavior the doctor told me "You're not the first one who is complaining about her but it's hard to find employees so we can't do much about it" I will not be getting my treatment from this office or recommending this office to anyone who expects to be treated with basic courtesy and respect. read more

Came here years ago to get all 4 wisdom teeth pulled. The experience went so well when it was time to get a tooth extracted and needed a bone graft I found Dr. Kirsch again. Let me say...I hate the dentist and it gives me so much anxiety. I was in and out in 30 minutes. I am day 2 post op...no swelling, no pain and no need for the major pain killers. Doctor even called me last night to make sure I was doing well and settled my mind over what I thought was excessive bleeding. Not at all. They are very thorough and the office runs smoothly. Appointments are flexible and thankfully never have to wait too long. Next comes the process of getting an implant and I'm positive it'll be as delightful as it could possibly be. I highly recommend Drs. Georgia and Mario Agaliotis, Dr. Vivian Graham, and Dr. Benjamin Jacobs. I had very bad pain above one of my teeth, that got progressively worse over a week. I called Drs. Agaliotis' office and explained my situation. They made time form me that day, although they were extremely busy. Dr. Georgia Agaliotis took an X-Ray and suggested that I go to an Endodontist to get a CT scan, see if the tooth was salvageable. They called Dr. Vivian Graham, who saw me within a half hour. She took a CT scan and showed me where the tooth was cracked along the root. The tooth would have to be pulled. I was sent back to Dr. Mario Agaliotis for getting an impression of my teeth before my tooth was full. Dr. Mario Agaliotis called the Oral Surgeon Dr. Benjamin Jacobs and explained my case. The day, Dr. Benjamin Jacobs so me, went over my CT scan, pulled the tooth, removed the infected bone, and did a bone graft. All three teams of doctors and staff were very professional and efficient. My pain went from extremely high, to sore, to no pain within one day. read more

Scheduled a consultation for removal of my upper wisdom teeth with Dr. Michael Kirsch. The wait time was nonexistent as I was quickly seen. They took X-rays and the doctor asked about my surgery preferences (i.e. general anesthesia vs. local). After a few weeks of push-backs on my part due to finding time off to remove them, I was able to schedule my actual surgery day with ease. A $200 credit/debit card "hold" was required to hold my surgery date though it didn't affect my funds and/or credit balance at all. Arrived a little after 9am on my surgery date and 30 minutes later I was walking on out! I selected local anesthesia and N2O gas so I was awake for my whole procedure and didn't need much recovery time. My wisdom teeth are also not impacted which made my procedure a quick one. I did, however, run into a slight complication during my surgery but Dr. Kirsch was calm and I felt confident that he would correct whatever issue arose. Swelling only for an hour or so. Bleeding also stopped within a few hours. Just a light dosage of Motrin to curb the dull uncomfortableness. Even got a call from Dr. Kirsch himself after office hours that same night to check up on me! Now that's care for a patient! Staff is friendly and a private lot in the back is convenient. horrible business practices. Dr Jacobs is conceded and only concerned about money not patients. i was recommended to the center for a few surgical extractions with a less than five minute consultation and was told they couldn't do them without a letter from my dentist specifying what four teeth as if they couldn't see in the x-ray. they booked my appointment for the next morning and on the evening prior began texting me that my out of pocket would be 4700 which they need before procedure. The texts just kept coming and i informed the "secretary's" they were speaking to the wrong department for my insurance. it's considered a medical procedure since anesthesia is needed. they informed me that they do not deal with medical insurance? then the next morning prior to surgery the texts started again now stating the out of pocket was 3600, still not true. they were adding bone and gum graphs which are first not recommended at time of extraction because bone grows back naturally but they insisted 3600 was the number, when i not my dentist requested any graphs. so they left me in pain with no concern with my oral health never acknowledged their mistake or incompetence just needed 3600 upfront. i found an oral surgeon band my total out of pocket is 15$. i would not recommend this place to an enemy horrible business practices and pure money hungry incompetence trying to convince patients of pro that are not necessary. worst experience with narcissistic doctors who do not listen along with their front desk associates. obviously not trained in customer service..terrible place to visit. read more

Excellent practice! I picked this place bc I have family that went here. Both offices in Caldwell & in Florham Park are beautiful! My family members had used Dr. Jacobs & loved him, but my appointment was with Dr Kirsch. He is excellent! I had a partially erupted, impacted lower wisdom tooth that has been giving me problems on & off for months now. I saw him back in April for a consult & panoramic X-ray when I was only having some minor discomfort that came & went, he initially recommended me to not remove the tooth at this point because I am 30 years old & the roots have grown in much deeper and they were both placed on either side of a nerve. He wanted me to try some at home treatment & see if it helped first. So a couple months past with on & off minor discomfort, but earlier this week the wisdom tooth got really bad to a point where I couldn't even close my teeth together or chew almost at all, there was some protrusion that was keeping my teeth from touching. I waited a couple days & when it didn't go away I called Dr. Kirsch's office; they fit me in the same day to get it checked out. He has excellent bedside manner & did calm me down bc I am a very nervous person. He had to do a ct scan to have a better image of the affected tooth and to also check to see if there was anything involving the tooth in front that would cause interference with this tooth, the result was that there wasn't so he recommended to now take out the wisdom tooth. The protrusion actually was the root poking through my gums that was causing the swelling! I was nervous, but we discussed everything, he answered every question I had-I told him I didn't want to be put to sleep, he recommended iv sedation and gas because being that the root was bear a nerve and he had to cut around the tooth, that if I made and involuntary movements during surgery that could be dangerous so I was fine with that because I wouldn't be totally out. I went to book my appointment but the next available time he had wasn't until a week later, I took it even though I really didn't want to wait that long because I could barely chew. 5 min after I left, they called me back and said he was willing to come in early on Thursday morning (2 days later) so that I could get done sooner. I was so happy and am so thankful to him that he offered that. He prescribed me a prescription mouth rinse (which does taste gross and makes everything kind of have a bad taste after you use it unfortunately lol) and clindamycin antibiotic to take for the few days before the surgery, every 8 hours. I haven't had any bad side effects to it (so far) other than some mild indegestion but after I started taking it with more water that stopped. (I did google it and I read some scary reviews of it online and of people having delayed reactions weeks later, so I was nervous about continuing to take it, but I am allergic to penicillin so that's the next thing they prescribe.) The morning of the surgery, which was this morning, I arrived & they set me up right away, he again had excellent bedside manner, asked me what kind of music I would like to be played, & took away my nerves right away with his upbeat and positive vibe. I asked about the antibiotic and mentioned the indigestion, he said if everything looks good when he started the surgery that I could finish out my doses for the rest of the day and then I can stop taking it. Don't remember much about the surgery after the gas & iv but I do remember it was painless I don't even remember the needle going in my mouth or feeling them pull my mouth open. Barely felt the iv needle go in. I'm pretty sure he was done in under 30 minutes. There were no issues & he said I could stop the antibiotics next day. Sat for a while to get back to normal, they brought my responsible party in and went over the recovery information, I made my post-op appointment & was on my way! Any issues I have had so far was some nausea for the first few hours after the anesthesia but other than that I have barely any pain, i'm taking 2 Advil every 6 hrs. I am a worrier & called the office multiple times with lots of questions about replacing the gauze among other things & the staff was always patient, friendly & answered all of my questions. Dr. Kirsch even personally called me later in the afternoon to see how I was feeling & to see if I had any questions for him. Such a nice man! The ONLY thing I can say that isn't 100% positive is just that they are expensive, so if you are paying out of pocket, just be aware & discuss pricing with them at your consultation. BUT, with that being said, for an issue like this, I wouldn't want just anyone to remove my tooth, I feel it's totally worth it to have the care & knowledge from one of the best rated oral surgeons to have do this procedure. They were able to take me in right away for my consultation and schedule me the very next day for surgery. Kelly calmed me down and Dr Jacobs reassured me that the surgery would be a breeze. And it was. My apt was for 1:00 they called me in around 12:50 and I was in the recovery room before 1:30. No pain at all. I can not recommend them enough!! HELPFUL TIPS: If you have insurance, they charge initial visits as "d9630: consult referred by another dentist". The receptionist told me that's how they have done it for years. Consults are NOT typically covered by insurance and this code is most appropriate when you have a written referral. Ask for the code and check with your insurance company BEFORE you make your first appointment. I visited 5 NYU trained oral surgeons with comparable practices and this is the ONLY one that didn't bill the visit as a limited evaluation. They require a deposit to reserve surgery time. Do not use a bank card or anything with a high credit limit. If you end up in my position, your card on file will automatically be charged. I was so lucky mine got stolen. If you have wisdom teeth removal, general anesthesia is NOT necessary. You still have to get a local anesthetic to numb the area. So unless you have anxiety about the dentists, you'll be fine. The doctor refused to perform the procedure on me without it (it was more expensive than the surgery) so I had to go to another doctor. I had them all taken out in 20 minutes elsewhere, fully awake, and I was fine. REVIEW: I have never had to work so hard just to pay someone. I received a bill that was twice as high as I expected due to their use of the consult code d9630 even though I did not have a written referral. It took 12 calls, 5 messages and almost 2 months to finally speak with the one person who answers all the billing questions. Despite reassurances from the receptionist that I wouldn't get any late notices since the delay was on their end, I received two and the final one stated the card they had on file would automatically be charged in 10 days if I did not submit a payment. I left a message explaining to them that the card on file had been cancelled months ago and asked that they call me asap. I still didn't get a call back but the next time I called them, the office manager picked up. She immediately knew who I was and told me they submitted a claims readjustment. Here's the thing, she said they submitted one for a comprehensive evaluation (d150), which was NOT what happened during my visit. I asked why they would use that one instead of the limited evaluation code (d140) and she told me to contact the ADA. Considering the ADA doesn't field calls from the public (believe me I tried) and how long I waited to speak to her, I was surprised by her curt attitude. However, when I saw she submitted a claim for a limited evaluation like I asked, I knew it was because I brought it up in the first place. Moments before the surgery they gave me a bill for $2100 for only my 2 lower teeth. I refused to that amount because it's ridiculous. My daughter had her 4 wisdom teeth extracted last week by Dr. Kirsch. The healing process was much better than anticipated. I paid the extra fee for the medication to avoid dry socket and with the other prescribed medications along with the surgical method used, my daughter's pain and swelling were very minimal. Dr. Jacobs thrives on the impossible and excels at it. He loves what he does and it shows. He literally is mesmerizing, to be at the level he is at right now is astonishing. I'm indebted to him for the rest of my life for the work he performed on me, that finally gave me a healthier outlook and for the first time in my life a smile, that I now love to show. I knew he was a master of his profession, when I asked him a question and he answered with putting his hand on his chest and stating, "that's for us to worry about", I felt so assured that he was the right surgeon for me, and he proved it. Great experience here. I woke up one Sunday with horrible, throbbing pain coming from my wisdom teeth. By Sunday night the pain was almost unbearable. That Monday morning I was able to be seen by Dr. Jacobs. I agree with a previous reviewer that said Dr. Jacobs has excellent bedside manner and is a wonderful surgeon. I healed wonderfully and the swelling in my face right after surgery was a fraction of what my sister experienced when she went to another doctor in the area. I had all four of my wisdom teeth removed and I was fine to return to work after a day or two. The reason they can't give you a quote over the phone is because they have to see whether your wisdom teeth are impacted or not / amongst other things. The surgery without insurance is pricey; however, when someone is working anywhere near or on my face I would rather spend the extra money and get a quality surgeon that knows what they are doing as opposed to a mediocre surgeon for a few hundred bucks cheaper. I had great insurance during this time and luckily they paid for 95% of it. Dental insurance did not give me any problems and processed my claim almost immediately. However, since two of my teeth were impacted I also had to go through my regular medical insurance and they had me jumping through hoops in order to get reimbursed. If the staff here weren't so helpful I'm not sure if I ever would have gotten reimbursed by them. Great follow-up from the doctor, and the receptionists/other staff members were super helpful in making sure my claims were processed by my insurance. read more

I had been experiencing pain in one of my wisdom teeth and was referred to this location for an emergency consultation. NJCOS was able to fit me in same day and I met with Dr. Adam Schuessler. He, and all of the other staff, were incredibly kind and helpful. I got a full mouth X-ray and discussed the process removing 2 of my wisdom teeth. I was able to schedule my removal at a time that fit my work schedule and got a pain med Rx to hold me over until then. I am writing this review 5 days post-op and have been healing well! Dr. Schuessler and the support staff did a great job explaining the process to me and prepping me for after care. The procedure itself was quick and painless as I was on NO2 with local anesthesia. Dr. Schuessler even did a great job getting my IV hooked up when my veins are notoriously hard to find (lol). The site was well run, clean, and conscious of COVID-19 protocols. I highly recommend NJCOS! I always had about a 30-minute wait time in the waiting room, but the care was stellar and I will certainly keep them in mind if/when I have to get my other 2 wisdom teeth out! read more

The day of the surgery my son was nervous;but, 45 minutes later he woke up very "happy". We were given instructions by Dr, Jacobs and we followed them, By day 2 I had to look in my sons mouth to see if he even had the surgery since he was feeling so fantastic. I was seen in office today by Dr Jacobs. I went for a consultation to have 2 teeth removed. I specifically went here because they offer general anesthesia and I have severe anxiety from previous bad experiences. They refused to do the surgery unless I was fully awake. The doctor said due to my "body type" to which I said you mean because I'm overweight to which he said yes. He said he would not take on such a risk even though he agreed that it was what I needed. Instead I was told to go to a dental school which has a multiple month waiting list. Crazy I went there after another dentist told me I was on the verge of an abscess in both teeth. I was emotionally upset and was then told to go out the back door so I wouldn't walk through the waiting room. I am speechless that he would not do it even though I have been under anesthesia within the last year and been fine. Not to mention it took me a month for them to get me in for this consult and I was forced to get a panoramic X-ray instead of using the ones I just had less than 2 months prior. I left this office feeling like they had no intention of being helpful and like I was treated like just a number. My recommendation is if you have any dentist phobias you should not go here. Update: commenting adequate candidates doesn't neglect that prior anesthesia was done and physicians have been consulted. Never once have I been told a place that offers anesthesia won't take patients on if they are heavier. Your office should be prepared for any complication for the same risks exist for each patient it's just a higher risk of you have certain factors. If that is where you stand then maybe your office should get better information before making someone pay for a visit that you would never except read more

Went in knowing that I needed my bottom 2 wisdom teeth removed. He opted to remove all 4 despite the fact that my top 2 wisdom teeth were coming in well. After my surgery a second dentist confirmed the removal of my top 2 wisdom teeth was unnecessary surgery. I have since filed a complaint about Dr. Jacobs with the NJ Board of Dentistry. Where do I begin? For years I had been putting off my wisdom teeth surgery because of such horrible experiences I had heard about the procedure. When it became time to finally get the procedure done, I was dreading the experience. This experience that I was so fearful of could not have been any further from the true experience I had with Dr. Kirsch's office. From the first time I called, they were friendly, efficient, and incredibly responsive (they were even more responsive than I was, which was amazing to see). I had my consultation on March 4, 2021, which was handled very efficiently and very safely (regarding the COVID-19 pandemic). Dr. Kirsch explained my options clearly and we decided that I should remove all four of my impacted wisdom teeth. Promptly after, I met with the schedule person, and she helped me choose a date for my surgery that worked with my schedule. (I was in and out of the consultation with a surgery date in roughly 30 minutes, which was fantastic considering how busy my personal schedule is). On Friday, March 12, I went in for my surgery. I have never seen such an efficient process in a doctor's office in my entire life. Within minutes, I finished filling out my paperwork was being prepped by the incredibly professional staff. I met Dr. Kirsch in the operating chair and he, as well as everyone else on his team, made me feel very comfortable as I was going under conscious sedation for the first time. The entire surgery took roughly 60 minutes and honestly felt like a routine dentist's visit (from what I remember). When it was time to leave, I was helped to my ride by one of Dr. Kirsch's staff members where she clearly explained to both me, and my guardian, the proper protocol for the first few hours of recovery. Within those first few hours, Dr. Kirsch called to check on how I was feeling, and against everything I had heard in the past, I was feeling great. I had very minor pain the first day, but by Sunday I felt as if I never even had surgery. The next week, Dr. Kirsch's office once again checked up on me to ask how my recovery was going, something I very much appreciated. I could not be more grateful for the efficiency and professionalism showed by Dr. Kirsch and his staff throughout the entire process of my wisdom teeth extraction. I went to this place for a wisdom tooth problem. In the past I have had wisdom tooth (2) extracted so was mentally prepared on what to expect. The office and staff are nice. The centre is considerate enough to give you an immediate emergency appointment incase you have extreme discomfort with a wisdom tooth. I filled up the paper work and all. After that the nurse took me for a panoramic X-ray which was also fine. After that was what happened that I did not expect. The oral surgeon (Dr. Jacobs) examines the X-ray and tells me that I need to have a 3D CT SCAN right now for him to come up with a treatment plan. In addition, I have to pay $225 for the CT scan right away because in most cases insurance doesn't cover it. The card they showed me listed the prices $225 for a single jaw bone and $400 for both jaw bones. They said the procedure would not take more than 5 mins. I was kind of baffled at what I heard as it did not make any sense. Like, I have mentioned earlier I have had 2 wisdom tooth extracted in the past and did not recollect the doctor asking me to undergo such a thing. This felt very unusual. I immediately left the office. Post that I consulted with two other oral surgeons to assess if I really needed a 3D CT scan and the response I got was "No". I finally scheduled an appointment with an oral surgeon (Dr. Sandeep Singla) and had my wisdom tooth extracted and I am doing fine. I would like to repeat that, Dr Sandeep Singla's office DID NOT CHARGE OR REQUEST FOR ANY 3D CT Scan or any additional unnecessary procedure as it relates to my wisdom tooth. I feel it is NOT FAIR to charge innocent patients for additional procedures that are not even required as a way to get more money into your pocket. This is not reasonable and I hope my experience will be useful for other people who will visit this office for the first-time for similar problems. read more

Giving this place 2 stars because of poor customer service. No issues with the surgery however billing department did not return my call and was generally unresponsive when requested to address the issue. I guess they operate just like any other business, once they have your money, they don't want to exert any effort to deal with your insurance company. Nice doctors, crappy billing/customer service. read more

I saw Dr. Jacobs for an extraction. He was professional, well prepared, confident, personable, and efficient. Everyone at his office was just as great. The technology was impressive. I left numb, but happy. Dr. Jacobs was able to save the involved nerve and I was as good as ever only a few hours later. I was incredibly nervous, but he instilled well placed confidence. Had severely impacted wisdom teeth, and Dr. Jacobs handled them with ease and I didn't feel a thing. Highly recommend this place!!!!!

I made an emergency appointment due to being in severe pain, and from the moment I walked in I had a good feeling. The receptionists were pleasant, and it's a beautiful, clean and modern office. I was brought back to get a panoramic X-ray and to meet with Dr. Jacobs, and informed that I could have the procedure done that day. After waiting (which I was fine with because I was appreciative of being fit in), I had the procedure done and was on my way home not too long after. The healing process was pretty much painless for me, even having all of my wisdom teeth out at once. Follow up appointment 2 weeks later was quick and easy. I have already recommended a coworker. I can't say enough about NJCOS - I've been putting off getting these teeth out for so many years, and now I wish I had done it sooner!
