Hello everyone, I am writing a review to provide my experience during the visit to this office (Clifton location). I have been attending this clinic for a long time, and had no issues until yesterday. I came in due to discomfort in my left eye. The doctor stated that I will need to use a medication based on the diagnosis. However, the pharmacy never obtained the prescription. When I called the clinic, I was told they would speak with the doctor and call me back. I never received a call back. Today I called the clinic for a follow-up. The individual I spoke to told me that the manager will call me because this was an urgent matter. Once again, I did not receive a call. Eventually, the pharmacy informed me that the prescribed medication was over the counter; however, the doctor only instructed me to use it at night and did not provide a specific timeframe for use. When I called again for clarification, I was told the doctor was unavailable and that I would need to wait until Monday. Overall, this was a negative experience that I do not wish on others. For individuals considering this clinic, I strongly recommend confirming that prescriptions are sent to the pharmacy, asking for clear instructions from the doctor, and addressing any questions you may have. Unfortunately, the clinic's limited support for the high cost is unacceptable. Thank you. In stark contrast to every single other person with whom l have spoken who lauds cataract removal surgery as having rendered them able to see clearly without glasses the very next day after surgery, leave had horribly blurry vision and am unable toreador at all. Previously l was nearsighted snd o mu needed glasses fue driving. Unfortunately, it was only post surgery either my worsened eyesight that Dr. Gautham then claimed my eyes were very dry and problematic before the surgery and that additional dryness was a common side effect of the surgery but if he had mentioned this significant contraindication prior to his screwing up my eyesight back in August, l never would have had agreed to pay $3500 to ruin my eyesight. I believe the place is a business that operates on everyone just to make money regardless of the outcome and my consent was certainly not informed.. the Hippocratic oath to first do no harm was obliterated and this medical test men had been iatrogenic, which means HARMFUL. I went in because of a chronic nose bleed. And the doctor glanced in my nose for approximately 2 seconds and declared that he could do nothing. And then promptly called it surgery and charged absurdly for it. I got the bill and have been trying to fight it, but they have been unresponsive thus far. I liked this facility until my appointment was canceled yesterday after my arrival. l had verified my appointment before arriving as requested by the NJ Eye and Ear Center. I am looking for a new reliable eye doctor now and a facility that respects patients and our time enough to cancel days in advance with us like patients are asked to do. Yesterday I went to this eye center on 8/23/2024. I got a last-minute switch-up after waiting a while, I was told that Dr. Stegman no longer accepts my Horizon insurance. This facility wanted me to return this weekend to see another eye doctor. I have other plans. I went out of my way and neighborhood late in the day yesterday for nothing. I wasted my transit money, energy, and time. I got stuck waiting to go home in the evening in a not-so-good area after hours. I will be taking my future business where my time is appreciated. read more

This place is horrible!! They made so many mistakes on my child lenses. INSULT TO INJURY they insist you wear them for 3 weeks to get adjusted. How can a young child get adjusted to the wrong RX prescription? to date still cant wear anything they sold me because in order for their lenses to be usable (ALL THEY CAN SEE FROM THE LENSES ARE THIER EYELASHES AND EYEBALLS REFLECTION ) you would need to spend over $500.00 ON THE LENSES ALONE don't waste your time and money with this place!!!! read more

I experienced a disturbing lack of compassion from the Englewood office of this medical practice. As a longtime patient (and so are my wife and children), I called for an appointment with a particular doctor due a to concerning problem with my hearing. I was told that the doctor had nothing available but I was not offered the option to see another doctor. Instead, with an unmistakable tone of frustration, I was told that I was difficult to hear. Imagine that, someone with a hearing problem not speaking clearly, I was horrified but tried to speak more clearly and louder, but the frustration and admonitions persisted. Nonetheless, I inquired when the doctor might be able to see me and I was again told that the doctor had nothing available. I responded "ever?" and received no response, so I repeated, "ever?" and was told he had an appointment in three weeks. Shockingly, I was still not offered the option to see another doctor, so I asked, "is there someone else I can see?" I was told in an abrupt manner that another doctor could see me but was not readily provided information as to when until I inquired. When the person began to answer my question, the annoyed tone continued. At that point, I asked to speak with a manager and was transferred to voicemail. I left a message but did not receive any response. This has been a terribly disappointing experience. read more

I would like to take this opportunity to extend a Kudos to several of your employees at the Clifton, NJ location. I was in the office on 07/07/2023 since I had a follow-up with Dr. Jennifer Ariola. First, I want to acknowledge that Dr. Ariola has excellent bedside skills and I felt extremely comfortable with her. She was very knowledgeable and she explained the process to me in a way where I was able to understand everything she was saying. She was very kind, polite and professional which I really appreciated it. She answered all of my questions and took her time whereas I didn't feel rushed. I truly enjoyed this visit and I will be looking forward to seeing her again. Next, I want to acknowledge, Kadeline, Alice and Francisco who are always assisting me when I have to sign in and make my co-payments. All three are very helpful and appreciated. I have never experienced any negative encounters with them during my visits at the office. In addition, I am impressed by how they communicate with other clients. They are never rude or disrespectful. I have watched them as they have engaged with other clients and have never witnessed anything unprofessional. Lastly, I would like to acknowledge Monique and Anita who were on staff and took the time to listen to my compliments. Both ladies were great and very attentive as well. There is not enough of words or gratitude that I can express in this email to explain how grateful I'am for this service. I give this place a five star for a few reasons. 1. The organization and order here is a plus. I'm not sure if it's because the trying times in which we currently live in that this place has an exceptional order and structure to how they operate but it's a plus plus plus in my book!!! 2. The staff here are very informative and friendly. I find that they move expeditiously but not in a way that you would feel rushed. 3. The ophthalmologist that attended to me and my hubby was awesome sauce! Why because she spoke in a respectful tone, her appearance along with her aura says she loves what she does. She too was very informative. Lastly do to me and my husbands sense of humor, when Dr. Ramserat asked us to read the lines FKJML we started reading the lines FREDDY, KING, JACK, MARY, LIMA she still remained professional when she could have responded differently. Instead she smiled and laughed with us and told us that we were originals but she enjoyed the time as well as meeting us. If I can give this place zero stars I would. I brought my son here who was as diagnosed by there physicians as having perfect vision 20/20. I payed a $50 co-pay and was happy to learn my son didn't need glasses. A year latter I get a bill for $150. After many frustrating conversations with their customer service and billing representatives who completely lack basic etiquette empathy and follow up; they explained the extra charges are because I saw an Ophthalmologist not an optometrist. I never asked to see an ophthalmologist! I just wanted to take my 4 year old son to get an eye exam. Which again I was told he had perfect sight no glasses or prescription needed. If you go here expect to spend at least $200 even if you have insurance and perfect visIon. Expect the bill 1 year latter and when calling to rectify the matter expect rude customer service and a complete lack of willingness to follow up on your concerns. Due to NJ eye and ears unwillingness to rectify the matter I have requested a form from the BBB to officially log a complaint with them and I have contacted NJHealth.gov to log a formal complaint with them about bundle billing and unscrupulous billing practices. read more

I've had a very hard time finding an eye doctor that I actually like and that I actually enjoy going to. The optometrist is very nice, the Indian woman I believe she is Indian. The optical center is super nice as well, meaning the young girls who work in it. I had a very good experience here and I will continue to use this eye doctor as my optometrist for a very long time. It's been such a hassle to find a good, clean, nice office that takes Medicaid Horizon NJ Health, but I finally found one and this is it! The office set up looks and feels like a bus station... organized chaos. It's loud and felt overly crowded. You can barely hear your name being called. The parking lot isn't the best. For the first few times wait time was minimum. 15 to 25 minutes but for the last 3,4 times it's getting worse by my every visit. I've had to wait for 45 minutes to an hour from the actual time of my appointment. We all work & have to squeeze in time for doctor visits. The receptionist came to lock the door in my face, 10 seconds after another employee came to open the door, it has no sense because they have a waiting room. I was on time and she didn't let me talk. I came to see Dr. Ente for pressure in my left ear. I had such an amazing experience here from the moment I walked in. I was super anxious from the condition and was immediately put at ease by the nurses and of course, Dr. Ente. He explained what might be going on and had me go for a hearing test. Afterwards, we went over the results together and figured out an action plan. I never once felt rushed or like I was taking up too much time. Honestly, if you are ANYWHERE in NJ and need an ENT - make the trip here or to Clifton. I cannot recommend this place enough. The office building is gorgeous too (you can even grab a delicious snack at the in-house cafe while you wait). read more

Excellent staff, excellent doctors, excellent facilities. I have been treated quickly and efficiently with warmth and responsiveness. I would recommend Clifton Eye Care to anyone with any insurance levels, the experience I've had here has been nothing but positive. The opticians that sell glasses in the store were also very helpful and friendly but also terribly expensive and I didn't quite get what I needed for my prescription within my insurance parameters; had there been more of an understanding of what me needs were, I may have had added the additional star for this rating. I'd shop around for your prescription needs, get a better price before buying if you're frugal, but absolutely trust the medical professionals amd staff of Clifton Eye Care. read more

I never got to see the doctor after waiting for over an hour. My appointment was at 8:45am and I arrived 10 minutes earlier to register. Unfortunately I was forced to leave at almost 10am (9:55am to be exact) after I was informed by the receptionist that the doctor is still looking for parking (so never arrived to work) and there's still patients ahead of me. And the only reason the receptionist did inform me about it is because I was getting impatient and inquired about the appointment. Walking to my car I found plenty of empty spaces in a parking lot, which reassured me that the doctor would not show up any time soon anyway and I was told a lie. Needless to say I will not be coming back and will look for an establishment that values patients and their time. read more

It is a very well staged eye care center in the downtown of Clifton. There are several similar, yet smaller, eye care store in the same street. The front desk is large and front waiting lobby is bright and clean. It is one of the best patient waiting area I have see. It's kind of noisy though, where people talk over the phone, smoke and chat. The left part is for glass shopping, and patient exam is in the back. Many review mentioned long waiting, which is kind true. After checking in, we sat there for 30 minutes before nurse call my wife in. I went outside and grabbed a beverage. My wife finished her appoint before I finished my drink. and we drove 30 minutes back home. We have to come back next week. P.S. The man/women shared bathroom does have a functional lock. So, ladies and gentlemen, be cautious when you need privacy. read more

(Note: the adult and pediatric opthalmologist are in separate offices of the building so my positive review applies mostly to the pediatric office but the lens trainer is in the adult section.) We absolutely love the pediatric doctors there (kind, patient, knowledgeable) which makes it hard to leave, but our experience with the contact lens trainer was so horrendous, we are having second thoughts and definitely going elsewhere for the lens. I don't know her name but she's the lens trainer with the fake eyelashes. My child is a first time contact lens user but she was having trouble putting the lens in her eye and the lady got visibly impatient with her, kept repeating your eyes are too small so you need to open them wider, and then spent the rest of the time sighing, shaking her head, and playing video games on her phone the whole time...??!! After 30 minutes of looking at her phone she said she had to go off to lunch so we had to come back next time and offered no tips other than practice with her fingers at home. We had already paid for the contact lens test so we gave it one more try (privately praying for another trainer but we weren't so lucky and had to listen to her attitude with absolutely no training assistance again.) It's such a shame that the excellent work of their doctors is compromised by this woman. The rest of the staff is fine and we appreciate the eyeglass fitter who tried to help us after she saw our frustration. Staff seems like they are trying to space out the appointments because used to be very crowded and still pretty busy there. read more

i was in the office today with my sister for her appt. which was at 2:30. we waited at least 30 minutes until they called us. they called her name we followed the nurse, she gave the chart to the other nurse, which is she refuse to take the chart , she said im on break. the other one the one she called us she walked away from us ( she ignored us). its a shame how they treaded us ..... i took my sister and left ,i just want answer to this if the eye and ears thats the way thy treat the people like no human. shame on them. i wont recommend this office to any one the way they treat people.. if i can give them -10 the deserve it.. again no one should be tread like they are not human.. read more
