I really don't like the fact that I have a first morning recurring appointment and since I need to wait for my eyes to dilate understandably they take other patients who don't need to wait. Horrible office. When a staff is this incompetent and unprofessional it is a recipe for disaster. Staff members hang up on you. Last effort as a medical professional to aid an 80 year old patient today ended in staff member Heather hanging up on us. This would only be acceptable if it was a technical glitch or having been unintentional. Asking for the office manager, her superior, or for Dr. Strauss to communicate and coordinate care with a patients specialist will get you intentionally disconnected. Behavior like that is a cancer to any professional medical office and should not be tolerated PERIOD! People that had appointments since 930 were still waiting by 1045. The staff here has no sense of urgency and then they have this flow within the office that you get seen in one room and then they placed by the exit door to be seen in another with no true explanation of what's going on. All the calls are routed to a call center where you are forced to leave a message and wait for call back that never comes. What a terrible experience. I went to Dr. Phillips for cataract surgery and he recommended multifocal lenses so that I could read without readers. My distance vision was close to perfect. He said I'd see everything with the multifocal lense. I have attached the glossy brochure that the Dr. handed me to reinforce that I will be able to see reading, intermediate and distance after the procedure. After surgery I could no longer see distance out of the eye he operated on. He said it happens sometimes and that I should have the second eye done. I lost all confidence in Dr. Phllips. I did not get what he promised. He was flippant and rather cavalier about the whole situation. I did not trust that he could make it right by "redoing" and I certainly did not want to have the second eye turn out like the first eye. Then I'd have to wear glasses to see distance... What a mess. I paid over $5000 for the single eye and did not get what I was promised. There was no retribution and the Compliance Officer was obnoxious and defended the situation with legal jargon. In addition, I was told by one of the many staff people there that the post op drops, $60 and the pre op exam $120 was included in the price. They were not. This practice is a factory. I am very dissatisfied with the patient care I received at the Flemington Phillips Eye Center. I was referred there for blepharoplasty (droopy eyelid surgery). The surgical outcome was acceptable but not optimal. The physician failed to establish a doctor patient relationship, did not do a thorough physical exam and rushed all visits. He failed to answer questions or provide adequate pre-op instructions. Phillips Eye Center is a high throughput low patient contact medical practice. Took my friend there today for an eye checkup. We arrived at 12:50 for a 1:30 appointment. She wasn't seen until 3 p.m. and finished with her appointment until 4:30. This place is totally unorganized and staff running around not accomplishing anything. There are people in the both waiting rooms exposing themselves to germs, especially. It is a full day process here, probably a shorter visit for surgery. I tried to speak to them, but they used every excuse, some even ridiculous for a eye visit to take 3 1/2 hours. You will never get to see Dr. Phillips. They were trying to hustle me into the $10,000 lenses. I just couldn't afford them. I went 4000 for the laser to remove the cataracts. They gave me some doctor named Gupta. Right after the surgery, I can't get in touch with her. I've seen everyone else in the office except her and Dr. Phillips. I went to Elmwood Park because it's close. Now suddenly in order to see her because I can no longer see far. I'm blind almost at a distance which I did not have a problem with before. They want me to go to New Jersey to see her. Be very careful. This is not a nice center but a business which is looking to take your money. You will not ever see Dr. Phillips. Cataract surgery in 2021 resulted in my needing 5 stitches in my eye but that isn't the worst part of the terrible care from Dr Phillips; I had to see a different Dr. who determined the problem after several visits with Dr Phillips resulted in not taking care of the problem he caused! SERIOUSLY!!! Stay away from this place. Had cataract and eye lids done, and this is the way everything went. First, I had the right eye done. When he gave me that anesthesia, it felt like someone hit me with a brick that my temple still hurts. They cover you up, you don't see anyone and all I heard - Dr. Phillip. As he proceeded at one point, I told him I was in pain. He said he didn't know why. When anesthesia weird off, I was in such pain that every nerve in my body was jumping. I couldn't open my eye , itching, scratchy, and I only saw white in front of me. I called them at 10 pm and left a message, and no one called me back. The next day, I went in for a check-up. The nurse had to hold my eye open with her fingers so she could do the tests. One Dr. came, and he said Dr. Phillip should look at the eye. Dr. Phillip said, "Some nerve. Right eye till this day hurts. A few times, I got an infection. I called to make an appointment, and no one called me back to make an appointment. The left eye went better. It seems to me, Dr. Phillip did not perform the surgery to the right eye. Eye lids drooped, so I need it surgery. Getting anesthesia was a nightmare. Four times , he kept on inserting the pick line till blood gushed all over. Then, another nurse came, and she did it in one second. Dr Brazzo did the eye lids surgery. Nightmare. He did the left eye first, and it was OK. When he started the right eye, it was hurting me. I told him a few times, and he didn't answer me. He stocked a needle that I could swear was some 3"long and very time, right in my eye bulb. Again, I said it's painful. All he said to the nurse - get the next patient ready. He took off so much skin that my eyes are always pinkish red, they look so tired and itch all the time. He also bruised me, and that will never get better. Staff is friendly but they obviously have better things to do than actually taking care of their patients. Wait time is always 1 1/2 to 2 hours every time. This office seems to prioritize making money over patient satisfaction. I've been there 3 times and waiting almost 2.5 hours each time. When I talked with their staff about it, they basically said "this is the way it goes here". It seems clear they have quotas and need to pack the office with patients to make their money. I asked if there was anything I could do to be seen quicker (i.e. come extra early) they basically said they could try, but couldn't guarantee. I'm sure the doctors here are excellent and great at what they do. I don't want to be a part of a medical practice that (so obviously) has making money highest on their priority list (and at the cost of patient satisfaction). There is a balance. Here is my sincere recommendation, instead of responding with this nonsense you should be up out of your chair walking the waiting room giving patients an update on their waiting times and if you are an hour and a half behind at least give the patient an option to decide what and how they wish to use their time. This is place is highly unorganized. I came in at 9:10 for my 9:15 appointment and it's 2 hours and 20 mins waiting to see a doctor. First nurse check in: vision/ eye pressure and dilated eyes. 30 mins wait for eye to be dilated and makes me sit in waiting area. Waiting is area is packed with people without any clue what will be next. Second nurse check in after 30 mins takes pictures and eye scan. Another wait for 45 mins in waiting area. Third nurse check in for eye pictures Waiting again for 30 mins for doctor visits Fourth nurse will now check in for doctor check up waiting again for 15 mins to see doctor. Finally seeing doctor and out in 5 mins. A simple solution to this why have 4 people working on same patient and do different things. One nurse can do all this and make patient Wait for doctor to see. At least patient will save some time and doctor too. I have been going to this place for 10 years and they are getting worst year by year. read more

Dr. Phillips and his entire team are wonderful, caring, and friendly! Although the wait can be long in waiting room, it's most definitely worth it for the care you get. The answer is, when your professional refers you to a doctor that has treated him, I listened... From the very first appointment, the process was one of caring and professionalism... Dr. Hadley Phillips, his staff and his techs, all listened. I was given clear instructions and options... after spending a lifetime purchasing glasses and rigid contacts...., I chose the laser procedure and the optimum lens... the medical personnel and techs were amazing .. it is now a month later, I have had both eyes done and I am healing...I am looking forward to the freedom of waking up and seeing.... Talk about a life changing surgery! My optometrist referred me to Dr. Phillips after determining I was forming cataracts during my annual exam. After a very extensive testing regiment (over 3 hours) , Dr. Phillips explained to me what my options were. I decided that if I were going to go ahead with this, that I might as well do it right! I opted for a premium lens that would alleviate the need for me to ever wear glasses again, which I have worn since the fourth grade. Dr. Phillips explained that with the new multifocal lens, it would afford me excellent vision in both distance, intermediate, and close up. My surgeries were two weeks apart. There was neither pain nor discomfort involved with the procedures. Be prepared to spend a couple hours the day after your surgery at the office, being checked and tested once again. I found his staff to be competent, efficient, friendly and caring - with a special shout out to Millie! Within 48 hours after my first surgery, I realized that this just might work! I am currently three weeks past my second surgery. I donated my glasses and tossed my contacts - I have never experienced such concise, perfect vision in my life! I cannot say enough about Dr. Phillips. He completely understood my end goals, and he delivered to perfection! I will be forever indebted! read more

This place is an absolute disaster. I made an appt for my 2 year old daughter with Dr. Compollataro when we arrived at 9 am there were about 30 people waiting already. After waiting for 1.5 hours I asked how many patients were ahead of us and the front desk said they don't know. There were patients arriving who had an appointment in the afternoon but came hours early disregarding their appointment time. There were people coughing their lungs out in the waiting room despite several messages leading up to the appointment date asking to reschedule if you have any sickness symptoms. Overall it was a horrible experience and we ended up leaving. After over 1.5 hrs of waiting with a 2 year old I asked what is going on and how could they get this behind at 9 am with patients and the staff said approximate wait time is 3.5 hrs maybe a little more. It is ABSURD for a pediatric clinic to expect children to wait 3.5 hrs in a waiting room to see the doctor. Whoever manages this clinic needs to be replaced, avoid this place at all costs.
