I needed to replace the exhaust hood in my kitchen. It is a ducted system with a hood made in Italy. I called multiple appliance folks and no one could help me. We highly recommend NJ Kitchens and Baths! We had an absolutely wonderful experience working with them. Our kitchen was a complete nightmare and they turned it into a dream. Gerry took our ideas, elevated them, and then turned it into reality. We really loved being able to see the 3D design concept. Andrew was helpful, responsive, and honest throughout the entire process. Darek completed most of the labor and he is a true craftsman with high attention to detail. We knocked down a wall, moved all the plumbing, and even had some challenging exterior brick work from filling in a window and it looks great. Our before and after photos speak for themselves! We shopped around before choosing NJ Kitchens and Baths & now that everything is finished, we're confident we made the right choice. Everyone else made us feel as though it would be a job they would have to squeeze in or barely gave us the time of day. We recently moved and once again used NJK&B to completely gut and renovate our master bathroom. What a transformation! This project required relocating plumbing, custom tilework, running new water supply lines and closing off an existing window to make room for a huge, custom walk-in shower. We couldn't be happier with the GC that was assigned to our project - he & his team were always punctual, clean, worked hard and above all, communicated throughout the process which took 2 months from Day 1 Demo to installing final fixtures (exactly within the timeline that we were told). Design Phase We had an architect draw up plans for a complete redesign of our kitchen and powder room. While shopping around for a contractor, we decided to check out NJ kitchens and Baths. We've passed the showroom for many years and figured we would talk to them. We worked with Gerry who took the time to make 3D computer renderings of our plans. During the process we realized some aspects of the plans we'd like to change. If it wasn't for that time he spent with us, we would have had some expensive adjustments during the project. He was very friendly and really knows his stuff. The design process takes a while, especially for an extensive redesign like we were doing. So if you are thinking of a major redo, plan for a long design cycle. Our house is over 100 years old. Our remodel was extensive. It involved putting a beam inside the ceiling, rerouting ALL of our plumbing supply and waste stacks and a steam pipe that went through the kitchen. During the quote phase, they made sure they understood as much of the project as possible. They ensured they understood the entire scope of the plumbing work by checking every floor where there was plumbing. This was something other contractors didn't do. The quote was way more detailed than any other contractor which told me that they not only understood the project, but had clarity on what was in scope and what wasn't. Construction phase Our house was a challenge because of its age and what people have done to it over the years. These guys handled it like the pros that they are. Things that were crooked became level. Things that were done wrong in the past were fixed and done right. The building inspector commented on how well everything was built. Also the beam that they had to put in had some obstacles but they still made it work perfectly. Very impressed. Everyone on the job was very trustworthy and they took extra care by protecting the rest of the house by putting up and laying down tarps and plastic sheets. During the project we uncovered some major issues with the bathroom above the kitchen and decided to redo that as well. They weaved that additional work into the plan nicely. Communication Working with Andrew, who is the main point of contact during construction, was very responsive. He responds to text, phone and email and was always eager to check things out when necessary. I always felt like I was his top priority. He is very honest and open and absolutely loved working with him. This was one of the most important aspects of the project and he did not disappoint. Overall I couldn't be happier with the work that they did on our kitchen and 2nd floor bathroom. I was really happy with all of the structural work and things you can't see now that it's done. I'm equally happy with the outcome of the finished product. It's beautiful and it exceeded my expectations. It was immensely helpful that they could take care of all the details, from demolition to final brush stroke. When we purchased our house, the kitchen had a strange floor plan with the refrigerator arranged randomly in the kitchen and very limited pantry space in the existing cabinetry. We called NJ Kitchen and Baths and Gerry worked with us to create custom cabinetry that housed the refrigerator, added pantry space and matches perfectly with the existing cabinets we had. They did an amazing job and now the kitchen looks just as beautiful as the rest of the house. Not only did they design a great space but their installation team was amazing and did a great job.
