This place is grotesque!!! Absolutely grotesque!!!! We ordered egg drop soup and it was rancid even had mold floating in it. We called the restaurant and they refused to acknowledge they were serving rotten soup!!! We ate some before we noticed anything and we got super sick. They argued with us saying everything was made fresh and they use the best ingredients. Clearly they do not!!! They didn't even try to make it right or anything. They got really offensive and aggressive towards us saying we were lying. I will be calling the health board.

    Mold found in my soup!

Not one to complain but when you find mold In your egg drop soup! Kinda hard to not call them to make it right. The owner kept on saying it's not and it was fresh soup, in all my years never had "fresh" eggs do this. even after sending him the picture. He still insisted that it's fresh and not mold! Didn't offer a refund or to make a new soup nothing. Eventually got a refund for the soup but Appetite is already gone. Even with a basic google search you can tell it's mold so definitely never eating here again or recommending it to anyone.

I can honestly say that the old owners cared A LOT MORE than this one does FOR SURE!!!!!! We saw the parking lot had more cars in it than usual, so decided to give it a try out of pure hope for having at least one good buffet in town again and straight up hunger. We walked in, sat down, and noticed the piled up Tetris boxes of paper goods and other random stuff on the floor in the dining area next to the bathroom hallway..... Okayyyyy.. So, we stared at each other, laughed, and continued to maintain positivity. We get up, grab a plate and start walking around to get some food. What I noticed the couple of trips I took up to the buff: #1: The steam tables were ABSOLUTELY under temp!!!! ALL FOOD WAS NOT- AND I REPEAT- NOT 135 degrees. I'LL BET MY PAYCHECK ON THAT ONE! Even stirring and scooping did nothing for temp difference. #2: The soup pots. They had a hard film from not being stirred, which dried up about 4 inches ABOVE where the soups were. I tried to pull the ladle out, it caught on the film, and lifted the insert completely out of the buffet line!!!!! I dropped it BUSTED OUT LAUGHING!!!!! Also, I don't find it safe to ball up plastic wrap and stuff it in the top of a lid to keep the steam from escaping. What in the world????? #3: The Jell-O. Oh, boy. That was spit out by someone I was with.... I literally brought home with me to make a keychain as a joke for them. The top was so hard they could have choked on it- Great Birthday present though. #4: You don't leave your blue and green microfiber cleaning rags on the buffet lines right next to plates and food! Are you kidding me??? Ugh. I'll leave it there. If you want a good place to go for Halloween to bring the family and give them a good scare, well.. you know. BUT IT'S A NEVER AGAIN FOR ME.

This place is a joke now. They say 45 mins to a hr for delivery. 2 hrs later I call and get met with the nastiest attitude by a so called manager that I've ever encountered from someone in the service industry. No worries there is plenty of other Chinese restaurants to choose from and I'll be spending my money elsewhere and it gets better we get these texts from the Manager

We usually go to another Chinese buffet in town, but we always go there! I recommended Mai Tai because we needed something different that day. Plus, there were rows and rows of food. I just knew we would find something even better than the other buffet. Meh. I think they had this coconut chicken or something. I don't remember the exact name, but it was deep-fried chicken pieces covered in a spicy mayonnaise-based sauce. That and the egg drop soup were the only things I enjoyed. Mom liked the corn and the string beans. Of all the food there, that's all we ate. We tried other things, but something was off about the flavor or the way they were cooked. I have no idea. Our server was nice, but obviously in a bad way. We overheard that she had been working for a month and hadn't received her first check. I would be upset, too! Thank goodness she didn't take it out on us. Even if she had, I wouldn't have blamed her. We left a nice tip. Apparently, a lot of family I have no knowledge of visit Mai Tai. A relative, whom I've never met before, walked up to me and asked me if I was so-and-so's granddaughter. I said yes and asked how they could tell. "By your walk." My w a l k. Impromptu family reunion? Blah food? We might visit again. Hopefully with better luck.

I've been to a few Cici's and they're all the same: a bunch of soccer moms with their kids clamoring around, folks bumping into each other, nasty staff... Memories made me die a little on the inside when my mother said she wanted to go. I didn't, but it was her day to choose lunch, so Cici's it was. But this Cici's was completely different! The staff was caring and professional. Took our plates when they were empty, engaged in conversation, and juggled the atmosphere of the entire restaurant which was extremely chaotic. There wasn't an empty seat! Mom ordered a thin crust sausage and bacon and she could not stop exclaiming how good it was. It obviously wasn't the best pizza in the world, but it was leagues better than what we had come to know as Cici's standard of quality. It was amazing! My favorite things were the salad bar and soup. I don't know if they changed the recipe lately, but that broth was heavenly. I had two cups of it. Just slurped it's down. Good job, Cici's. I look forward to my next visit!

just really excellent Filipino food in an unexpected place like Jacksonville, North Carolina at…read moreslightly unreasonable value (great for the customer, but makes one question if the business can sustain it when charging so little for so much food). It was the first of three Filipino restaurants we visited on my wife's/my Carolina week long visit, and was the best out of all of them, even though by far it was the least expensive. Driving from Durham NC to Myrtle Beach, my wife and I took a longer route so we could eat at this 'Point-Point' steam table restaurant deep in the South. Steam table means everything is pre-cooked and sitting at a buffet station. The food can suffer in the same way that a buffet can: the food gets old fast and it definitely tastes different if you can get a fresh(er) batch vs one that has been sitting out for a while. We got there about 45 minutes before opening (opens at noon on a Sunday). It's in an isolated strip mall (seemingly in the middle of nowhere), with plenty of parking. As we waited in the car, we saw many prospective customers trying to get in. The doors opened promptly at 12 pm, and we were the 3rd party in line. The order taking process is intentionally slowed to allow the serving of the food to take place not long after it has been ordered and (pre)paid. This did mean that the line went out the door for our entire dine-in visit, and we got to see the make up of the regulars. Everyone was patient: it was very clear that it was mostly locals, coming not because they wanted Filipino food, but because they wanted good tasting food at a good price. It's a small dining area, but the vast majority of people were doing carry-out so there was always some seating available. They use Clover as the POS, and identify themselves as 'Filipino Cuisine'. We got the 3 choice combo plate ($16.99), served with white rice along with a can of coke ($1.99...no soda machine here) and a side of Ukoy ($2.50). There is a 4% surcharge for credit card use. Each choice was the size of a small a la carte portion, and one would have been enough for the two of us for lunch. The food was delivered to your table, and they will bus (or one can self-bus since a garbage can is available and everything is served in disposable containers). Ukoy - shrimp and vegetable fritter - really big piece and made that morning, so was still crispy. I really like vegetable fritters and this version was OK, a bit dry but that's what the accompanying vinegar dipping sauce was for. Pork Adobo - very tender meat, not too much fat, with added onions (what you would expect in a biftek). The amount of saltiness went perfectly with the white rice. Biftek - this had the sabaw of biftek, but the cut was cubed, meaning closer to caldereta. The beef cuts were just excellent (little gristle), very tender. This amount of beef would easily be $20 in a 'nice' Filipino restaurant. Pork Sinigang - really good, just the way I like it. Wasn't overly sour, with plenty of vegetables and generous amount of pork. The broth had definitely been skimmed of grease, resulting in a dish that was more homemade (where time is taken to do the skimming) than other turo-turo places I've been. Looking over the menu can tell you about the competition in the area, and it looks like Vietnamese Pho is pretty rare in Jacksonville. Turo Turo has Pho on their menu, and even modified their name to highlight it. I've found that many Filipinos like their dishes with all the extracted fat remaining, which makes much of their soup inedible for me (in that context, it's grease, not flavor-enhancing fat). But as noted, their sinigang was good, with most of the pork fat skimmed off the broth...so thinking their Pho is probably pretty good too. We've eaten at many, many Turo-Turo places (so many around where we live), and this place has to be near the top in terms of value and taste. Funny that it's in a place that we wouldn't expect, serving locals that one would expect in the area. Both of us really liked this restaurant, and the plentiful leftovers became our dinner that night with no regrets.

We like everything we have tried and were so glad to find this place since we recently moved to the area. From mild to to spicy hot they have evert range anyone could want. Portions are fair and we ended up taking some home from our lunch. Areas they could improve; I don't know if we hit them on a bad day, but it was really hot inside, since the food is also hot I tend not to want to eat if I get over heated. We were uncomfortably hot and sweating even before our food came out. Canned soda. Buy or lease a soda dispenser. You make more profits and can keep costs down. I really dislike restraints that serve only soda in cans, charge too much, then you have to ask for a cup and ice and there are no refills or larger portions.
