"What's for lunch, mom?" "You know what I want." The usual lunch spot for me and my mother. We drive into town twice a week and end up eating Chinese food. Not the healthiest thing, we know. Never an issue with parking because it shares a plaza with stores like Piggly Wiggly, Ollie's, and there's even a church there as well. The price with tax is around $10-$11 per person without a drink (water for me). I always fill my plate up with mussels, ribs, salmon, corn fritters, chicken teriyaki skewers, and eggrolls. Mom gets the spring rolls, fried shrimp, chicken and broccoli, corn on the cob, and she LOVES their Texas toast because they toast it extra crispy. Crunch crunch! We love the service here. Not one to complain but when you find mold In your egg drop soup! Kinda hard to not call them to make it right. The owner kept on saying it's not and it was fresh soup, in all my years never had "fresh" eggs do this. even after sending him the picture. He still insisted that it's fresh and not mold! I can honestly say that the old owners cared A LOT MORE than this one does FOR SURE!!!!!! We saw the parking lot had more cars in it than usual, so decided to give it a try out of pure hope for having at least one good buffet in town again and straight up hunger. We walked in, sat down, and noticed the piled up Tetris boxes of paper goods and other random stuff on the floor in the dining area next to the bathroom hallway..... Okayyyyy.. So, we stared at each other, laughed, and continued to maintain positivity. We get up, grab a plate and start walking around to get some food. What I noticed the couple of trips I took up to the buff: #1: The steam tables were ABSOLUTELY under temp!!!! ALL FOOD WAS NOT- AND I REPEAT- NOT 135 degrees. I'LL BET MY PAYCHECK ON THAT ONE! Even stirring and scooping did nothing for temp difference. #2: The soup pots. They had a hard film from not being stirred, which dried up about 4 inches ABOVE where the soups were. I tried to pull the ladle out, it caught on the film, and lifted the insert completely out of the buffet line!!!!! I dropped it BUSTED OUT LAUGHING!!!!! Also, I don't find it safe to ball up plastic wrap and stuff it in the top of a lid to keep the steam from escaping. What in the world????? #3: The Jell-O. Oh, boy. That was spit out by someone I was with.... I literally brought home with me to make a keychain as a joke for them. It being 8 pm on a Thursday I wait 45 minutes to give them time to prepare and bag my order. I arrive at 7:36 walk in, give my order number, confirm my last name, and I pay. After my payment went through, I was told they were out of the two sushi rolls I ordered, and asked if I'd like anything else to replace it. This is after I've been charged, and 45 minutes of them having my order, and all contact info mind you. I confirm there Is nothing else I want to substitute for, thinking I will have the rest of my order in hand, since again, I put my order in 45 minutes prior. I'm told it'll be about 10 minutes.its now 7:39 pm . 20 minutes later, my food finally comes out. The place wasn't busy, two cooks eating in the side room, a server sitting at a table eating, and the cashier was sitting on his phone when I walked in. Upon getting my food I asked if my card will be reimbursed, I'm assured it is. Seeings how it is pending on my account, I surely hope they do adjust the price. The food was okay, and hot. But why do they have the online options to order, ask for info to contact you incase of changes, if they aren't going to cook the food when I put it in? First time trying it, and ill never go back and will never speak a decent word of this place. Food is very generic and bland, which is kind of surprising for a Chinese place. However the chicken wings and fried rice is really good. Service is amazing, as soon as you finish a plate they are right there to take it away, and the same with a soda, very quick to refill. It is however around $10 a person for dinner time, so I would recommend a lunch outing at this place if you really want a buffet and it's about $6 a person then. I thought I was just seeing things until I went on the other side where the terriyaki chicken was and saw another one in the pan!! Delivery is timely, and they've been friendly. The cons center, largely, on consistency. The first time we ordered things were packed very well; the second time, the sweet and sour sauce cover had opened and gotten all over everything. The beef with broccoli was great the first time, but almost unrecognizable as the same dish (flavor-wise) the second time. I wonder if the day of the week...mid-week was great, weekend notsomuch. I love the soft marinated beef texture, but I don't think the food is fresh or maybe they don't properly clean their equpment which gives the food an old grease taste. The soup I ordered was bland with no flavor in it which was a shame. Even the rice tasted old or had unfiltered/bad water? The general tsos was very runny and the lo mein was hard. The egg rolls weren't horrible and the steamed the dumplings were ok. Stay far away from the fish. My boyfriend got food poisoning from that. Dana is still the ruddiest manager I have encountered at a restaurant that is there to provide service. I actually had to go to the restaurant to retrieve my receipt in order for them not to charge me for a meal that took over 90 minutes to deliver and I had cancelled after 75 minutes. As stated before I would have sent someone to get the dinner if she had just been honest. She never apologized and I asked the delivery person if she was always like this and I got a slight nod that she was.
