I'm writing to formally file a complaint against Crunch Fitness located at Rte 83 & Rollins Rd…read more Round Lake Beach, IL regarding an incident that occurred on June 8th 2026 involving egregious employee misconduct, discrimination, and complete failure by management to protect a paying customer. After finishing my workout at the gym, I attempted to use the sauna. It had been left off, and I contacted the front workers to please have someone reset and turn it on. After some 5 minutes approached what appeared to be male latin descent which I respectfully asked him why he opened the sauna door all the way open letting out all the hot humid air? His response was was he didn't want to sweat and if I didn't like it I could turn it on my fucking self. Instead of performing his job duties and treating paying customers with respect he refused my request and responded with vulgarity and left the locker room leaving the door open. I then approached the front desk to speak with this employee when a manager approached and instead of de-escalating the situation, the manager let the employee go back into the locker room where he was causing more tension and I was very uncomfortable. He came back into the locker room with an angry demeanor which is very unprofessional. Upon leaving a group of employees who were all females and on site manager Laila Allen, immediately sided with the male employee. During this interaction, I was discriminated against as a male Hispanic customer. The employees aggressively targeted me, demanding that I answer their questions and threatening to terminate my gym membership without getting the full story. Instead of addressing the employee's vulgarity, and refusal to work, and taking out personal frustrations on me, the staff completely twisted the narrative. I expect Crunch Fitness Management to investigate this incident and take appropriate disciplinary action against the employees involved.

This place is hilarious. Let me to tell you the type of people who go to this location. If you are…read moreone of these people, this is the gym for you!! 1. The person who refuses to wipe down their machine, no matter how sweaty they are or even if we are in the middle of a pandemic. Heck they might even see you wipe down your machine, yet they still will not. 2. The meat head who fills the need to grunt loudly and drop the weights after each set. Maybe you shouldn't lift that much if you can't put the weights down, you gorilla. 3. The person who runs next to you, despite the fact it is a pandemic and there are four other tread mills open. 4. Similar to number 3, the guy who runs next to you and chooses to have a full on phone call while running. 5. The guy who feels its appropriate to workout shirtless. 6. The person who comes after the staff has left and swipes in and lets his 7 friends in to workout with him as well. 7. The person who doesn't put the weights back after they are done. Often the same guy as number 2. 8. High schoolers who drive their dad's Mercedes. 9. The person who uses 3 different machines at once and doesn't wipe any of them down. 10. The person who leaves their water bottle on a machine while they use another machine.

Kept repeating that they are the cheapest Snap for $34.99. I asked if they price match, he would just repeat their prices. I asked if they give out free passes to try the gym, he would respond with "thats not how we do things at this location". He offered for me to come in from 9am-11am to workout. I stated I work and he goes, "if you really want to change gyms you'd figure it out and make it work". ZERO customer service skills. He admitted he doesnt even workout there, he worksout at Charter Fitness! He also told me, "if youre trying to shop around for gyms, never do it over the phone, youll get no where"...CLEARLY.

If you go to SAA you will accomplish whatever goals you want to achieve regarding your fitness…read more This place has top notch trainers who are well versed in many training techniques and methods with an amazing community of members who motivate each other to achieve their goals. I started at Superior in 2012, the summer before my junior year of high school. I originally wanted to work on my strength and speed as I was working towards furthering my baseball career in high school and college. I saw results after training with Will and Boone for a few months and solidified myself on the varsity baseball roster with the extra power I gained in my arm and my bat. I ended up leading the team in multiple batting categories my junior and senior year and acquired multiple looks from DI and DIII baseball programs. After my senior year, I was accepted to the Coast Guard Academy and earned a spot on their baseball roster while concurrently serving in the military. The strength that I gained from SAA helped me during boot camp and got me through that with ease. Fast forward to 2018, I recently moved back to Chicago and got involved in Olympic Weightlifting. I had a sound basis of the technique that I learned all the way back in 2012 when I first trained at SAA, but I had not trained full time for a while. I wanted to find a program that I could get personal feedback from while having a tailored and individualized workout made for me. I was confident that the coaches could bring me to another level with my lifting abilities. So I decided to take a chance and see what I could learn with the coaches at SAA. I started training with Will and Kurt in August of 2018 and I have seen tremendous gains in my technique, strength, and volume that I can lift. My lifts have gone up various amounts, and I have learned so much about training methods, technique, recovery, and programming with the coaches here. I came in clean and jerking 127kg/279lb, and SAA has helped me get to a 140kg/308lb clean and 151kg/332lb jerk. My squats have increased by 10kg/22lb in the back squat and 15kg/33lb in the front squat. I feel stronger, and I can handle much more volume in training than when I came into SAA in August of 2018. My technique has improved immensely, and I consistently receive feedback on how to lift better. Overall, the community at SAA is hard to beat. Everyone knows each other and motivates one another to reach their goals. The atmosphere is a great place to train and learn in. Everyone is there to help, and the coaches put a lot of time and effort into writing each workout and explaining each part to you. I have felt that if I ever have a problem with any part of the lifts, I can come to any one of the coaches and ask them how to fix it. I am looking forward to the future with SAA, and I am proud to be part of this community.

The coach was excellent - he provided great instruction and...just to really drive the point home the instructor even rolled with me and demonstrated the techniques he taught in class by applying them to (on?) me! That was a great way to see/experience the lesson in action. All-in-all everyone was super nice, no one tried to smash me down because from a different place, but everyone still gave me a good roll and I had a great experience!! If you're in the Grayslake, Il area I highly recommend Ohana Martial Arts!!

I've been here for a little over a 2 years now. One of the biggest things which pointed me to…read moreOhana was the Instructor. Chris Lund is really laid back and there are no formalities here, which make it really easy to ask him for help with techniques or questions about how to do moves. Actually you can walk up to anyone for help and they'll be more than happy to do so. The quality of instruction you receive here is amazing. I am a science teacher at a local High School and even I have to admit the instruction/organization of the classes at Ohana are the best. The classes don't feel like a canned lesson and Chris likes to point out the finer details that I feel other places didn't spend time covering. Also while you're practicing, Chris will spend time with most everyone pointing out these details or answering questions. Another great thing is that you also spend time drilling what you've learned in class which reinforces what you've learned. I also really like that the adult class sizes stay small around 20-30 students from white to brown and mostly blue and purple belts who are all very friendly and humble. Check your ego at the door is the sign you'll see as soon as you walk in. Both the instructor and students pride themselves on their hospitality, and the camaraderie can be seen as you first walk in. If you are a beginner to the sport or an experienced grappler this is the place to take your game to the next level. Also, Ohana hosts a great seminar 2x a year with BJ Penn's BJJ coach Renato Verissimo. "Ohana" is not just a catchy name but more so a true representation of their philosophy and teaching. There is no need to feel pressured or intimated; your first class is free! I've been training at the school for over 2 years and still can't wait to attend class each week. BJJ itself is an outstanding martial art for self-defense, physical fitness, and overall wellness/confidence. The school also offers an excellent curriculum for kids. I urge anyone that is curious or considering BJJ to stop into the school to watch a class or jump in to try it for themselves.
