I'm writing to formally file a complaint against Crunch Fitness located at Rte 83 & Rollins Rd…read more Round Lake Beach, IL regarding an incident that occurred on June 8th 2026 involving egregious employee misconduct, discrimination, and complete failure by management to protect a paying customer. After finishing my workout at the gym, I attempted to use the sauna. It had been left off, and I contacted the front workers to please have someone reset and turn it on. After some 5 minutes approached what appeared to be male latin descent which I respectfully asked him why he opened the sauna door all the way open letting out all the hot humid air? His response was was he didn't want to sweat and if I didn't like it I could turn it on my fucking self. Instead of performing his job duties and treating paying customers with respect he refused my request and responded with vulgarity and left the locker room leaving the door open. I then approached the front desk to speak with this employee when a manager approached and instead of de-escalating the situation, the manager let the employee go back into the locker room where he was causing more tension and I was very uncomfortable. He came back into the locker room with an angry demeanor which is very unprofessional. Upon leaving a group of employees who were all females and on site manager Laila Allen, immediately sided with the male employee. During this interaction, I was discriminated against as a male Hispanic customer. The employees aggressively targeted me, demanding that I answer their questions and threatening to terminate my gym membership without getting the full story. Instead of addressing the employee's vulgarity, and refusal to work, and taking out personal frustrations on me, the staff completely twisted the narrative. I expect Crunch Fitness Management to investigate this incident and take appropriate disciplinary action against the employees involved.

From the moment you walk into the vestibule to get to your playing surface (any of them) it's a rat hole of dust, garbage, lazy staff that simply sits at the front desk, and nobody walking around ensuring cleaniliness. Gum all over the courts, nets and benches always in the way, can't keep people on staff. It's obvious that it's owned by hockey people that are over the boarder to the north, they simply DO NOT CARE!!! I'd give no stars if that was an option.

Nick is the main manager & did an incredible job helping me out during my time here. He was very honest with all the fees & policies up front & took care of any concerns that I had. It's not the cheapest option, but I still think it was a very reasonable & affordable membership fee for all that was included - classes, hydro massage, 24/7 secured access. Best of all, there aren't any BS cancellation/hidden fees like with planet fitness, & the equipment & fitness center in general is very clean & well maintained. Showers/bathrooms are clean, & Nick does his best to make sure there are always fresh towels available. It's also very safe & secure (never had to worry about my stuff being stolen). It got busy at times especially around 4-5pm Mon-Thurs, but sometimes I'd somehow find myself as the only person there in the afternoon with the entire place to myself. I was usually always able to use all of the machines/equipment that I needed to for my workouts, & the other people there were also very courteous with cleaning & sharing the equipment. Equipment wise, they had everything that you could possibly need, even a tire flip. I could go on & on but I'll wrap it up here. Definitely at least check this place out if you're looking for a fitness center in the area. I'd rather pay a little more for a nicer fitness center & a trustworthy staff that has my best interest in mind, rather than deal with cheaper fitness centers that try to scam every last penny out of your pocket. 12/10 would sign up for a membership at this Anytime Fitness again if I lived in the area.

There are two locations, and this is the…read morebigger one. the equipment is well maintained and work well. there's literally so many machines, i haven't even see half of these before in my life haha. i went at peak gym time (at after work hours for most people), and it was not that busy. there was still plenty, PLENTY of space and machines for everyone. there's a pool, basketball court, kids daycare, a woman's only section (!!! ^__^ ). there are group classes for an extra charge. there's also a military discount available for $5 off per month, taking it from $54 to $49! i'll take what i can get lol. i love it here! check out some of the pictures of the place, i blocked out people who could be identified to respect people's privacy on their gym journey. Older Lady who works in the front at night (week days) has horrible customer service! Noticed a few…read moremonths ago she started working nights and from that point forward mood and overall ambience has gone down negatively. Poor attitude when greeting and saying goodbye to members. Soon as it turns 10pm all patience goes out the window and she is quick hounding people to get up and leave. She shows no consideration! My experiences with her have been short and I am quick to understand closing time. Today however, her behavior was cruel. Because it was pouring rain outside I was putting all my belongings in my bag so they don't get wet. She hovered over me until she could rush me plus other members who are waiting for rides out into the pouring rain. She stood at the OPEN door staring at me waiting for my ride to pull up to the front of the building. kid you not by the time I got into the car and open this yelp app it was 10:05 pm. I completely understand there is a closing time but this behavior towards members is simply unacceptable and cruel. I hope by writing this it can help the fit nation team provide better customer service to its members :)

I have always struggled with social anxiety so on my first day I was a very composed nervous wreck lol Easy to say, my nerves were eased very quickly. The coaches are wonderful! The environment is super comfortable and the workouts are killer (in the best way)! The satisfaction I feel leaving a class is priceless and I'm super proud and happy to be a part of the No. 36 family!

When I used to work out at home having three kids and full-time job I always have some kind of excuse that I couldn't take care of myself and give myself an hour to work out because there was always some thing.Since I started I got so much stronger and the trainers push you to your limits so limits that you didn't know even that you're capable of doing so much better. If your mom and you're a full-time working mom you should try this place you'll feel much better And you'll feel nice and refresh and stress-free when you leave the gym‍.

Today just me and my 2 year old arrived to play basketball for a bit. I brought both of our membership cards in and left my purse in the car because of previous theft in the facility. I ask for a ball . Provide MARY my card, my daughter's card. She says she needs my drivers license. I tell her it's in the car because I don't want to bring my purse back in, we often get a ball for my daughters FATHER with my membership card because he never carry's any ID. She tells me no I need to take my 2 year old back in 20 degree weather. I am at a point where I would just rather cancel my membership than go through weird interactions like this one. Especially with the severity of the weather and just trying to get out and be active. The gold membership has provided no level of customer service or convenience. Will be canceling and telling my friends to sign up for bears fit or planet fitness that are both close to the area. Do not waste your time or money.

There seems to be many Coronary patients there, many of who I have gotten to know. However, much of the equipment is in need of replacement. The machines are just plain worn out. The pickle ball contingent are taking over the courts and it annoys me. Great professional and knowledgeable staff. Never too crowded except for Saturdays when all the wannabe bodybuilders infiltrate. Don't understand why so many naked seniors hanging out in the locker rooms for hours. They seem to be mostly retirees with no other socialization outlets. Too many of them using cellphones in the locker room. Cell phones are banned from locker rooms but these older gents don't seem to think they apply.
