I searched for a deli to grab a salad and sandwich at on my drive from Des Moines to San Antonio. It's only 5 miles off HWY 35, but soooo worth it. The host was so kind and helped me with everything I asked for. I ordered the feta salad and tuna sandwich. They also have coffee and home made bakery items. I ended up grabbing a banana brown sugar cake to go. Do yourself a favor and make the 10 min detour and stop in. It was so worth it!! read more

We stopped in for a quick bite and ended up getting the grilled ham and cheese sandwiches. (We were on our way back to Oklahoma City and didn't want anything heavy.) Our table service was friendly but kinda spotty. (There was lots of chit chat going on among the wait staff.) ot really bad. The selection of coffee was nice. The scone I ordered for dessert was dry but had good flavor. We both found all the religious crap to be cloying at best and annoying at worst, but, well, this place IS in small town Kansas. (People here wear their religious beliefs on their sleeves, I reckon. There's a similar place in Oklahoma City that has Islamic kitsch all over its walls. Yuk. I just find that it's never a good policy to mix religion and business. But maybe that's just me.) I doubt that we'll ever be in Wellington again, though, as this last trip was a diversion from our usual route. read more

Bakery food is fire though. As well as everything else they have to offer. You can sit and enjoy a full meal, or grab something quick on the go. You can grab something hot something cold. Something full of caffeine, or something oozing in caramel. Your options are endless for drinks and lattes, alone. That extends to the food as well. read more

I go here every time I visit my family and the staff is usually friendly and nice, the bakery items are good and the coffee if you ask them which one they recommend depending where you prefer it on the bitter to sweetness scale. I do wish they had a larger variety in their boutique area, everything has something religious on it, that's why I'm giving it a 4 instead of a 5. Excellent coffee - cute place! The morning we were there they offered a breakfast buffet. We did not get the buffet however everything looked good. We opted for offer and scones. Their scones are delicious. They have the right amount of dry yet moist and flaky. The brown sugar scone was our favorite. I ordered an americano and it was hot,bold, and delicious. My daughter got a hot caramel macchiato . She said that while it had a bit more milk than she is accustomed, it still tasted very good. My mom got a rich and creamy got chocolate. Every time I visit my friend in Wellington we stop at this cute coffee shop. This place is a gem for such a small town. The menu has a lot of coffee and food options. I got the toffee nut latte with a Turkey BLT and they both were amazing. The atmosphere is so inviting. Nice coffee shop with a couple of sofas and a lot of seating. The staff is friendly and fast. We came in for lunch. I got the club and was disappointed with the amount of bacon on the sandwich. Full bacon strips would be better than bacon pieces. The potato salad had black olives and dill pickles. They added a nice layer to the side, but overall the potato salad needed salt. This place is a sight for sore eyes. It's amazing that downtown wellington has such an amazing establishment. You walk in and can't even believe how beautiful the place is. From the moment I spoke with the owner, Kim, it was such an easy & delightful experience! She is so organized, it was so easy to plan the perfect baby shower! We chose an earthy vibe w/ soft pinks and sage greens and the decor and set up was breathtaking! The helper that worked during our party was the sweetest! She was on top of everything and very accommodating and went above and beyond to make sure everything was just how we wanted it! I have put together and hosted a lot of baby showers and I have to say this one was my favorite! To just be able to put on paper how you want things and to have someone else make it come to life for, by the way, very reasonable prices, allowed me to enjoy the shower just as much as everyone else there! A charming little place with a great motif, old red brick like a firehouse, spacious and comfortable. Downtown Wellington is not much of a tourist draw and maybe not even much of a locals draw, so this little place will have to work hard to stay open. However, it had a good crowd a friendly people and smiling faces, the prices are very reasonable, and everything we had was good. Caveat: the Proprietors wear their religion upon their sleeve, so it is impossible to escape the Christian overtone. The same can be said for pretty much all of Kansas. If you are uncomfortable with this level of religiosity in a business you might want to steer clear, but the same can be again said for all of Kansas read more

#7 Coffee House is one of the best in all areas of service! The food is fresh, portioned perfectly, & taste delicious! The employees are always cheerful and upbeat. The owner is delightful as he enjoys making small talk with everyone and is always smiling! The layout and design is super comfortable for all to relax and enjoy one of their tasty treats! Biscuits and gravy was awesome! I attempted to order a blended iced tea latte but the waitress asked me if I could get it hot or iced because it is too hard to do it blended apparently. We were in Wellington yesterday and my daughter really likes coffee shops so we tried this one out. I had a blended raspberry mocha. I don't actually know what that is because I'm old and I don't understand coffee drinks that aren't coffee with cream and sugar but my daughter has convinced me to be adventurous over the last couple years. The drink was fantastic. My kiddo ordered a blended something or other that was even better than mine. I'd recommend the drink if I could remember name of it. The wife had Diet Coke which is really boring when you are in a place that can make you drinks you've never heard of and have no clue what they are. Really nice staff, great atmosphere. read more
