Old school. And by that, I mean old. But not in a bad way. The inside has been frozen for decades, but, you don't go to a joint and order a grinder in a place with great ambiance! Ask anyone who's ever been to NYC: it should be dark, it should be quick, and it's really all about the food. $4.50 for a 6" sandwich loaded with everything a grinder should be: fresh meat, good cheese, and chopped veg. It's not Subway, praise the Lord. If you want something tasty, go. If you want a $5 footlong with plenty of cheap meat and bagged lettuce, continue to the fast food chain of your choice

Needed to find a place to eat in town, so I checked Yelp + saw the reviews mention this place. Got one of their sandwiches for dinner. Also got to speak with Quentin the owner for a bit: he and his wife opened the place back around 1978; it was renovated then, and it still looks in decent shape.

The Grinder Man is a great little local Old School Sub shop. Nothing fancy but consistently good subs for over 50 years now.

My favorite sandwich shop around! They make the best subs (hero), and the cookies are amazing!

Had the hero at the recommendation of the cashier and it was simple but excellent. It was refreshing not to be overloaded with condiments!

I really can't believe I'm here. This was on my bucket list so now I can check it off. The only…read morething better would be if the pioneer woman herself appeared. I did some heavy duty shopping at the Merc.!!!! and also left behind probably a dozen more things I would've loved to have picked up and brought home. Yes, I would say it's a little more expensive than your average kitchen supply store but if you're going to somewhere upscale, I would say the prices are in line with that type of property. Lucky me -I made reservations for lunch for myself (since the boys decided they did not want anything to do with my shopping extravaganza!) I can't get over the quality and the quantity of the food. It's absolutely fabulous. They gave me complementary biscuits and homemade strawberry rhubarb jam. I would rate it five star -the biscuits just which you would like- light and fluffy and the jam freshly made and delicious. I also ordered what was called olive bread just because I love olives so much. I thought it would be a piece or two of bread with olives but instead it's like four or five pieces of bread, so I'll definitely be taking some home and it will become my dinner along with whatever else I have left because their portions are very generous. For my main course, I ordered the cornbread fish over rice and creamed spinach. It's not only beautiful and don't you know we eat with our eyes first!! Well, just take a look for yourself. Oh, me oh my happy day.!!!! Justin is my server. Everyone in both the restaurant and retail area have been absolutely wonderful and have helped me a couple times as I had questions and then I brought a baking pan down to pay for it with all my other Mercantile items not knowing that if the merch is up in the bakery, you gotta pay for it in the bakery....I did get a lot of stuff up there- some cookies, brownie and scones and some "vintage" candy for my husband. I don't know why I didn't put that small Bundt pan on the counter!! They actually have a beautiful staircase, but they also have an elevator so with my bum leg that was my choice. I took the mini Bundt pan back up, paid for it and then proceeded to take my three XL or maybe even 2XL Mercantile Brown Handled Bags out to my trunk. (I hope that my husband doesn't put me on top of the car for the ride home!!!) ----at the very least, I'm probably going to be squished in the backseat with those bags and my 72# dog; however, this was TOTALLY worth it. I can't stop smiling. I love it here. All that shopping made me hungry and timing was perfect so once my bags were safely in the trunk -I walked right up to the hostess stand -she confirmed my table was ready and I was seated on a very comfy cushioned area that was behind my 2-top but I believe it extended to either side of me where the tables were both 4-tops. Justin was my server and he was fantastic. He took excellent care of me and I observed him giving the same high quality customer service to customers at his other tables. He had that charming OK accent and indeed told me he had lived at the next little town all his life. We had actually passed through Bartlesville on the way to "The Bunkhouse" (our ABNB for the 2-nights which was very near Pawhuska. (I'll be posting other reviews regarding the "Merc" mercantile and general store and the merchandise available and what I purchased.) This is one of my best days ever. The only thing that could've added to my joy was if Ree Drummond herself made an appearance. I was shocked when I went out to leave for home and found the Drummond Ranch truck parked next to my car. I never found out if it was just parked there as an advertisement, (although I don't think they need any advertising), or if there was a Drummond on the premises. I didn't mention I took 2 Turkey Bacon Club Sandwiches along with the home made potato chips (they came with each sandwich) and a side of MacNCheese which is what the boys chose from the menu. Happy to report that everything was made to order as requested and my family enjoyed their meal just as much as I did-however they missed the incredible ambience!!!

Very friendly team of people throughout each part of the enterprise. Helpful, happy…read more... We had lunch and the food was better than expected. Great value. I was prepared to pay more. We drove in while visiting family in Tulsa. The drive is so beautiful and relaxing.

I live in an Asian shaved ice desert. Perhaps that's why I'm already super enthusiastic when I…read moretravel and find some. Simply the gratitude of it being present in middle America sets me up to have a good experience. Someone complained in a review about the "false advertisement" of having shaved ice as most Americans know it. It's hilarious to be that they assumed it to be what they know as shaved ice. If they had tried the Asian shaved ice, I guarantee they'd enjoy it and wouldn't have complained. If you know about other culture's shaved ice, you're open to try new things and let yourself be surprised. I digress. The shaved ice found here is the Korean version, Bingsu. It's very similar to other styles, but this one is mostly milk based. The menu is pretty extensive, including smoothies, yogurt, juice, coffee, boba tea, and of course shaved ice cream. We came for the shaved ice cream, so we tried the strawberry & mango first. It mixed the two, which surprised me since I had assumed it would be half and half separated. The combination worked beautifully. There was whipped cream, strawberry and mango syrup on top and we asked for mango popping boba. It was so delicious! The best way I can describe it is a feathery texture that melts in your mouth. We also tried the coconut one which came with condensed milk and coconut shavings. We also added strawberry popping boba. Highly recommend either/bob. Since the consistency is light and fluffy, even though the portions are generous, you don't feel stuffed afterwards. The place is spacious and has tall ceiling, making it very open. There's seating available on both floors. I enjoyed the Korean music playing and the tv translating the lyrics. The volume was just right (as opposed to some reviews out there complaining it was too loud). I probably wouldn't try to make calls inside though. The guy at the counter was super nice. He kept smiling really big the whole time he talked to us. Made me smile too. He also told us about the Korean cheesecake they have for sale. It looked delicious and fluffy so I got the coffee one. It was more of a sponge cake than cheesecake but it was delicious. Highly recommend.

I love Korean style shaved ice and this place popped up when we were looking for one to go to after…read moredinner. It was super cute in there, I love the vibe and how there is an upstairs and downstairs. We ordered the strawberry mango and green tea shaved ice. They weren't the best I've had but they also weren't bad. I wish they included some toppings. It definitely isn't super authentic when it comes to the tradition Korean shaved ice. And the flavor is good but not the best. Everyone there was nice as well.
