Been a registered nurse for 15 years and this is one of the best companies I have worked for they truly care about patience as a nurse. We are constantly overworked understaffed and rushed in corporate America, but with this nonprofit organization, they give me the time to take care of all of my patience. They have a foundation called gestures of grace in this foundation assisted me in helping families face eviction put toilets for safety issues and provide gift cards to families in need of food. This is truly a wonderful company and if you're considering your family for Hospice or palliative care, there is a reason Hospice of Michigan is number one they truly work from the heart.

I have caught her gossiping negatively with other staff members who, though mostly lovely, seem intimidated and unduly influenced by her military style meanness. There is very little family support at the Waterford facility (grief counseling once a month) and adding an unwelcoming, unkind personality to the mix during an already stressful and surreal experience is too much to deal with. There's a reason for the saying ''one bad apple spoils the bunch.'' She seems to be a ringleader... and her energy is a downer.

On my last visit she called over several caregivers to her wheelchair and introduced them to me as you would a dear friend. My aunt was very unhappy to leave her own home and go into assisted living, but now she is contented thanks to the patience and attention of the wonderful staff. Resident Care Director Judy Gafa sets the tone at Sunrise GPW with wisdom and kindness and hands on care. She even personally accompanied my aunt for a doctor visit. I would attribute the excellence of these special people to a combination of genuine caring nature and superior training. Smiles all around. Dying special needs and no meds. Unreal. Still being tube fed up until the end. A total heartbreaking nightmare for me. I was screaming, GET THE MORPHINE!!! Finally she got it, surprised I was not arrested. She got it and then passed away 15 minutes later. Total nightmare that haunts me. Never use Seasons hospice !!!!!

My 95 year old Mother was under Season's Hospice care for a year at an assisted living home the…read moreentire one year Covid-19 lockdown. I depended on them to give me a full report after each visit. I found out that one nurse who was supposed to visit face to face with Mom was actually calling the head nurse at the Home to get a report from her car, and would relay Mom's vitals to me like she was actually there. When I asked the nurse about something specific pertaining to Mom, she would quickly tell me she was doing fine and would change the subject. I found out from the Home admins she was not even going into my Mom's room. Well, my Mom passed away on March 8th 2021, and not one nurse came to visit her during the last week of her life. All they were doing was prescribing more and more morphine until Mom was a vegetable and hadn't been able to eat for four days before she cruelly died. The Home asked me if I would like to be Mom's care giver the final days and had I not been there to give Mom water and whisper support to her, she might have died sooner. For the last days of Mom's life, the Home acted as if their hands were tied being under Hospice care and Hospice acted as if Mom's final days were the Homes' responsibilities. Mom passed on March 8th and I have not received any condolences from any nurse that had visited her for the past year. The only person to call was Lynn, a social worker who has been monitoring my health and well being during since the start. Shame on you Season's Hospice for not caring about my Mom even in her final days under your care. You had no problem billing my Mom's Medicare for a year though. Andy Z.

My father heard that comment as she spoke it in the same room that he was in. He called me very upset and understandably so. What type of nurse does this ?!? TERRIBLE!! This same nurse practitioner, after cleaning my dad's ears out stated that it was not her job to do that and furthermore, doesn't get paid to do that. I was appalled to hear this! Their nurses, regular and on-call are rude and inconsiderate (Natalie) and quite frankly, should not be hospice nurses. We are talking about the end of someone's life !! Where is the kindness and consideration for human dignity? This company is terrible !! I could go on... This company took my first review down so I am posting it again! Also when they discharged my father from hospice, they discharged before they secured my father another bed and told my mother that it was her responsibility to call around and find another bed . This is the MSW's job not the hospice family''a. Just all around terrible care. They always acted like it was a chore to come out because my dad lived on the outskirts of their service area. She might as well of stayed home because she would have healed much better and faster. When my family and I entered the building the only people seeming to do actual work was the front desk lady and all she had to do is greet us and tell us to sign in online. We've caught the nurses or whatever you call them severely lacking. Sitting on the counters laughing and chatting while people like my grandmother were yelling in pain, multiple call lights going off and sticking them infront of the tv instead of any interactions, and the place smells of just straight urine. Duh i understand it's a place for older people but if they were actually being taken care of it wouldn't have gotten to this point. The only time i recall of her actually being "helped" was when we told them we were taking her home and all of a sudden it was a frantic panic of trying to get her better even though a new injury occurred because of them. I know these place aren't the best for older folks, but i'm sure as hell there are a lot better places than this shit hole. If you love your family, don't do it.

Our main nurse, an angel walking amongst us, Jessica, was an absolutely crucial support, advocate and friend to both those of us attempting to navigate the horrible life at Regency and to our dear friend who had to live it 24/7. We fought beside these people for our friends care, and I know they were in it to win it beside us. The pure care Jessica showed my friend taught me so much and it helped me get through it all. Michael, a volunteer with Residential was such a gift. He just showed up one day while I was visiting and became part of the fold. He helped me, he engaged my friend and they shared a love of Star Wars while I briefly stepped away to get some air. I returned to see my friend out of bed showing off his star wars gear. He loved us woman in his life but needed someone interested in the cool guy stuff. I was lucky enough to meet and share time with Michael several times, and he took the time to check on me and how I was emotionally. I was so shocked I hardly knew what to say. There were others, some I didn't meet (Danielle) who truly showed up. The horror of how it was at Regency pales in comparison to the reality of that place without Residential. Thank you so much. You'll be forever in my heart.

I have waited a while to write this review because I was unsure about how to put this horrible…read moreexperience into words. We ended up utilizing this hospice company because it was the company that our hospital was contracted with at the time (2025). My dad had previously been receiving treatment at the hospital for Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer. We had an in home intake meeting with a nurse on Sunday March 16. This particular nurse was kind and knowledgeable however she was not going to be our regular nurse. She stated that based on my dad's condition, a nurse would be at the house everyday. The next day, our assigned nurse came to the house for a brief time. I thought it was odd that she did not assist us in administering any oral medication as this was something we expressed to her that we were struggling with. Before she left, she stated she would be back on Thursday which caught us off guard because the intake nurse said my dad would need someone at the house everyday. As the week progressed, we felt like we were doing everything on our own as previous reviews have also expressed. My dad was in horrible pain and they refused to give us any other suggestions on medications - They simply advised us to continue giving him the same medication at the same dosage. In the early morning of Monday March 24, I called the nurse line as my dad had experienced a fall that resulted in cuts/bleeding and his general condition was plummeting. I inquired about when our nurse was scheduled to come back and they said Thursday. I was in shock as this would have been a whole week later from their last visit. I begged for them to send someone as soon as possible, but they stated our assigned nurse didn't start her shift until noon. I guess they did relay this call to our nurse as she texted me soon after the call to let me know we would be her first stop of her shift. It was too late as my dad passed away around 10am that day. I texted the nurse letting her know that he had passed - She showed up at 12:30 to pronounce time of death. I highly suggest steering clear of this company.
